"SpiriTrust Lutheran, The Village at Kelly Drive was homey. I felt comfortable being there. It was clean. The room was a good size. Everybody was nice. The lady that gave the tour was very helpful. They were doing an exercise class when I was there, so several residents were enjoying that. They have lots of activities based on the schedule they gave me."

"I like it because they had a single cottage, and accepted dogs. The staff who gave the tour was very considerate and very helpful. They have everything you want, including a gym, a pool, a snack bar, and social things. The courtyard and dining area were nice. The cleanliness is really good, it's top. Plus the size of the apartment was adequate."

"We looked at the cottage at The Village at Sprenkle Drive. The tour was very nice, very good, and well-explained. We like the place that we saw. The only drawback to it was the amount that they wanted for the initial payment to get in. The cottage was very nice. It's much smaller than our house. That was kind of a concern, but I don't think you can find too many places that are much larger than that. The place was nice. They have activities, but I forgot what they were."

"We got my mother-in-law moved into Shrewsbury Lutheran Retirement Village. It's great. We love it and we're very happy with it. The room is very nice and roomy. My mother-in-law likes it. I haven't tried any food yet, but it's a nice presentation, and she seems to like it. She hasn't gotten too involved in the activities yet, but they offer a lot of them. They do crafts, trivia, and baking. They have special rooms for the activities and a gathering room where they do movies and church services. They also have a beauty shop and the bank comes in there every so often. Value is a five because other facilities we inquired about were more expensive."

"I moved to Menno Haven because a friend lived here. like the way they kept the snow cleared off the sidewalks. I have a cottage in independent living. It has lots of activities. There were not a lot during Covid, but we are open now. It has great food. One of the dining rooms was called the 'Best in Chambersburg' by the food critics in the local paper. They have a casual grill and an espresso bar. There's a tech bar in case you're having trouble with your phone or your computer. There is a movie theater and a huge meeting hall. The activities range from shopping trips. We had one shopping to the Gettysburg outlet with lunch. Afterwards, we went to the flight 93 crash site and the American Civil War Museum. There used to be folk music in the lounge on Wednesdays, but that had to stop because of Covid. They have a good library, lots of woods, and places to walk. There are a couple of ponds, one of them has the yacht club which is 132nd scale sailboats. They have a cardboard boat race, where different employees make boats out of cardboard, duct tape and paint. The last one that does not sink is the winner, and that is over in the assisted living section. I have got the best kitchen I've ever had. They asked me if I want a Corian or granite and I chose Corian. They got us all our vaccines. The staff is great and friendly. The CEO is a registered nurse, and he occasionally takes the shift as a nurse in the nursing home area. He does it just to keep his skills up and to know what's going on. They built a new nursing home area, and they are gonna tear down the old one and build more cottages. It is not happening yet. They have turned one of the nursing homes into a Covid site. People who get the disease can stay there instead of going off campus. It is really a great place. They have got a rehab center. When the CEO comes to your house because he's a registered nurse just to make sure that you survived your first Covid shot, you got to say it is pretty good staff. I have not run into anybody that had any complaints. The food is excellent. There's nothing I haven't liked. Some of the facilities are old (like in the 1970s), but the brand new Life Center got all sorts of amenities like a huge theater, small conference room, and movie theater that you could sleep in. There are on-campus activities: knitting group, study groups, college nearby has lectures, movies when it's allowed, and lots of musical activities. Price is a little high, but it's worth it for what I'm getting."

"My aunt is in Menno Haven. She has her own bungalow. It was pleasant. Everything looked very neat and clean. I know each person was still allowed to have their own vehicle and stuff. I know they offer movie nights and things like that, but I'm not sure how often that was. I know my aunt does not often participate in things. Some of the things like carpeting and the paint are a little dated. I know the staff was very attentive to my aunt as far as if she needed someone, she could get someone fairly quickly. I know that they did come around to check her blood pressure and do wellness visits for her."

"I had a personal associate that lived here with her husband and her dog. They loved it! Their apartment was spacious and accommodating to their needs. The food service dining room was always set up very nicely and the staff was always very friendly. The residents that I saw when I visited were always smiling and seemed very happy. There seemed to be several social groups and activities. The facility is in a picturesque community that includes ponds and walking paths. They also seemed to allow pets which is nice because the residents don't have to part with their furry friends to move here. "

"When my grandmother had to be placed in a nursing home after having a cancerous brain tumor removed, we chose the Church of God Home. It was an incredible place. Not only were the facilities clean and welcoming, but the staff was outstanding. The nursing staff, food staff, activities staff, and therapy staff were kind, caring, and compassionate. Every one of them made an effort to know the resident's names and likes and dislikes. They made the residents feel like they were part of a family, which is so important for those who can no longer live with their own families. They also made visiting family members feel very welcome. The activities provided were creative, varied, and provided wonderful experiences for the residents. The food was hot and fresh. When my grandmother was nearing death the staff was extremely supportive and caring. After her passing they held a service to say good-bye to her earthly body and their presence was deeply comforting to us. My grandfather has already decided that if he ever needs to go to a nursing home, Church of God Home is where he wants to be. "

"My mother has been at MV for 1 year in a studio apt independent living. She is very happy here and I have been very impressed with the loving, Christian care she has received. Recently she broke her wrist and we were able to have inhome assistance immediately to help her dress and bath as well as help in the kitchen. Everything is maintained and maintenance is prompt and efficient. As the only child I have peace of mind that my mother is safe and happy in her senior years. "

"This facility is one of the best facilities I have visited. The kind staff did everything they could to help my grandmother live the best life possible, and they were very understanding if we had any concerns. She really enjoyed the activities department, who do their best to accommodate a wide range of resident needs. The aides were on top of things, and the nurses were always there when they were needed. The resident to caregiver ratio was excellent when my grandmother stayed there, and the quality of care was excellent. They were always so kind to both her and us, and we always felt like they handled everything in the most professional, respectful way. Shook really went the extra step to adhere to privacy policies laid by the state and facility; we never heard any gossip going on while we were there. This is one of the only facilities that I have personally dealt with that I would recommend to anyone without a second thought. "

"We knew a family friend that had lived at Bethany Village for years and years. Since we had some personal experience with that place and they loved it, we went and looked at it. Each time they showed me a place, I fell in love with the floor plan. The marketing people were very upfront with how they did things, what I could expect, and what they had available for activities. They were just willing to help in any way that they could. Plus, the cost was the most reasonable of all of the places. You can opt in for the meals. They have dining rooms with three meal plans every day, but I will have a full kitchen when I move there, so I can cook for myself as much as I want. My sister and I had lunch there, and we both had something different, and we were very pleased with each of the sandwiches that we had. They have a well-stocked library, a piano in the building, and people that come in and give different varieties of music concerts. They have a shuttle bus that can take you to and from outside concerts or outside plays. They also have a shuttle bus that runs all day long and takes you from building to building, because they have a West campus and an East campus. They're kind of spread out. You can call and say to go to your door and take you to another. They have the medical office in their complex, but they're close enough to doctors and a hospital. So, I felt comfortable taking my mother and myself there in case something went wrong."
