"We went to Homewood at Plum Creek. They have the villas, they have the cottages, and then they have the apartments and the care in the big building. It's beautiful. It's very nice. It is in a farm setting. It's very pretty. However, it was a distance for us. Also, they didn't have any available end units, which is what we would have taken if available. The people were very nice. They explained everything and showed you all the stuff you could have with your place. They had a pool, an exercise room, and a library. They had a lot to offer. It was immaculate, too. We looked at the cottages because that's what we were interested in. The cottages were fine; there were nice-sized rooms. They have two bedrooms, two baths, a living room, a kitchen, and a patio."

"We chose Lutheran for the location. It met our requirements: the way the place was laid out, the services, and it had a lot more to offer than we were looking for. They’re really good. There were many things to do there, but my family member does not participate. "

"Choosing CLV was the perfect match for my husband and myself. We never had a adjustment period as the staff would help and were accommodating. We also find residents extremely friendly and helpful. Resident can join committees that have input in day to day life . Nothing is ever 100% but after 18 months of residence we have no regrets . Not only are we happy our family is happy we are at CLV!"

"the residential options within the cottages and apartments are very spacious, completely redesigned and wonderful. You couldn't ask for better. The Assisted Living and rehabilitation rooms are also very spacious and well appointed. The campus grounds are beautiful and the country setting is scenic and beautiful all year round. Village residents have alot of food options including dine in, delivery, carry out and grab and go choices. Even in the health center there are always available items on demand in addition to the planned menu. Activities are plentiful and resident driven. It's a wonderful place."

"My parents are at Country Meadows of York West. We haven't been there for a long time, but so far everything has been great. The people have been super, super nice. Everything has been clean. The staff has been wonderful. The apartment is extremely spacious. So far, so good. The building itself is very nice and tasteful. It's not overwhelming. The space is very spacious compared to other things I've seen, and it's great for the price. With regards to activities, they have somebody that actually comes to draw my parents out a little bit more, which we may take advantage of. My parents do very little activities. Everything is going really well and we're so grateful for Country Meadows and for their wonderful, wonderful staff. They offer a lot of activities and they offer very nice events."

"I would like to give a “SHOUT OUT” to the HomeCare staff at Normandie Ridge. My parents moved into the facility 13 years ago. Unfortunately, my step father passed away a few years ago but my mother continues to live in her apartment. These last few years have been a small medical challenge in some ways but because the HomeCare staff was available there to help her with some of her everyday activities, she has been able to continue independent living in her own apartment. Priscilla has gone out of her way to make accommodations for Mom. Her staff of Erika and Sara have been the lifesavers helping her with many of her daily needs, both day and night. Normandie Ridge is a great place to live and having HomeCare services available to their residents adds an additional benefit to the services and activities already provided by Normandie Ridge and the staff."

"We chose Pine Manor Home for my mother, and it all had to do with cost. I'm not getting any help from anybody to pay the cost and this is what was affordable. It's not a five-star place by any stretch of the imagination, but they do the best they can. It's slightly dated. Her room is a sufficient size for her. There are not many activities at all. She has a bed, a dresser, and a nightstand. The staff is very friendly and nice. My mother does not like the food, but I have never tried any of it. It's the cheapest one we could find."

"SpiriTrust Lutheran, The Village at Kelly Drive was homey. I felt comfortable being there. It was clean. The room was a good size. Everybody was nice. The lady that gave the tour was very helpful. They were doing an exercise class when I was there, so several residents were enjoying that. They have lots of activities based on the schedule they gave me."

"I was a rehab patient here. The nurses, nurses aids and physical therapists did an outstanding job. The facility is kept very clean thanks to the housekeeping department. The kitchen is what puts this place over the top. Outstanding job in the kitchen! I would recommend this rehab to anyone in search of great care. THANK YOU ONE AND ALL!!"

"Sprenkle was a great community with a great people. The seniors were very friendly and always had a smile on their face. The assistants were very nice to the seniors, and assisted them at all times. I would love to visit Sprenkle again, because it offers so much to do. For example, you can play Wii in the recreation area, and have great discussions with your fellow seniors. The village provides all things needed for a healthy and great living environment. More often then not, you will have a phenomenal time there, and your afternoon will fly by, because of the great activities you can do. As you pull in the main complex, you are greeted by a gorgeous recreation house, with various cottages surrounded in the lush landscape. Your adventure awaits, and relaxation is everything at Sprenkle. There is nothing better than kicking your feet up and watching the sunset, right from your backyard. A true place for serenity. "

"My husband was a resident of Rest Haven-york. They were wonderful. It is an old building and it's nothing fancy, but the care here was wonderful. So I was very pleased. They just took such great care of him with his hallucinations. I mean, they were just wonderful with that. The staff was very good, too. I mean, sometimes it seemed like they were only taking care of him, but that's how they were with everyone. I can't say enough about them. He was in a semi-private room. He did not participate in any activities, but they do have them available for the residents."

"We got my mother-in-law moved into Shrewsbury Lutheran Retirement Village. It's great. We love it and we're very happy with it. The room is very nice and roomy. My mother-in-law likes it. I haven't tried any food yet, but it's a nice presentation, and she seems to like it. She hasn't gotten too involved in the activities yet, but they offer a lot of them. They do crafts, trivia, and baking. They have special rooms for the activities and a gathering room where they do movies and church services. They also have a beauty shop and the bank comes in there every so often. Value is a five because other facilities we inquired about were more expensive."

"We were nervous that dad would have trouble moving from his home of 56 years into a nursing home, but that staff and fellow residents welcomed him with open arms and he loves his new friends and the wonderful care givers. Food is very good with a wide variety of choices. The building itself reminds you of walking into a resort. A large courtyard allows residents to enjoy watching birds, squirrels and bunnies. Daily activities (bingo, balloon bop, cornhole, movies, exercises, trips to local restaurants, shopping, even fishing at Possum Lake) keep the residents engaged. "

"What impressed me about Menno Haven was how they treated each of their residents as an individual, and you could see that in their care. For example, during COVID, there was one woman who we talked to who would go down every day to the little bistro and get coffee to drink. They started bringing her coffee up to her room and leaving it outside her door, so she didn't have to go down because they didn't want people out. We went to lunch with the mother of a friend of mine there and they knew her individual choices of what she liked and didn't like. That spoke to me that they were that caring. The food we had was excellent too. I was very impressed. The physical grounds were beautiful and I was impressed with their apartments. Although the staff member gave me information, I felt like I learned a lot more information and a lot more knowledge from visiting my friend's mother and by talking with people who lived there. The place was spotless. They had everything from a woodworking area, community gardens, an indoor swimming pool, meeting rooms for people, a pool table, and a lot more classes, in which the majority of those were free. They also had villas associated with this facility and they had sidewalks with benches every couple of blocks so that people could sit down and rest."

"We loved Menno Haven. We loved the availability and choices of cottages and the other full-sized homes and townhomes. The staff was very helpful. She answered all the questions she could on an initial visit and she was just very pleasant. You must buy into a certain level of eating in their restaurants or have to have a certain level of bucks each month. Otherwise, you can cook for yourself. Everything there was pristine. It was well-manicured. It was just lovely. The hallways were clean. I can't imagine a better upkeep. They probably have several large workout rooms. They have three swimming pools and one is quite large. They have several libraries. It's a huge place. I think they have a thousand residents, maybe. "

"We toured Green Ridge Village. We like it very much. Like the other place, if you need to go into personal care or anything else, it moves along, and if you eventually run out of funds, you aren't placed out because they both have a benevolent fund to take care of that. We like the fact that the people are very, very friendly. We met several residents. They had lunch for us. Each table had a resident sitting, and you could ask questions freely. The food was great. It is a little more expensive than the other place, but I think it generally is newer. They have a pool, a hot tub, a very nice gym, and a very nice wood shop. They also have a training room. Anybody can work out there, and that would be fun to see. They have a firepit-type thing. However, you have to have one of their menu plans, which are at different rates. They say that it is to help them keep up with what they're able to offer."

"The staff at Church of God Home explained the different wings that they had and what they've done in the skilled nursing. There were times that they get snacks and do activities. They try to keep them out of their rooms as much as possible and interact with other residents. They said that whatever requests we would want for our father, they would do it. It was a very nice place and everybody was very polite and answered our questions. You could have a one-bedroom there. The room can either have just one bed or two, depending on what you would want. It also had a bathroom, a dresser, and a TV."

"We visited a friend at Messiah Lifeways Mechanicsburg, PA. They have a lovely restaurant right on the campus. The restaurant is very nice. Delicious food. My friend has a two-bedroom apartment. She has a nice two-car garage, too. She uses her car on one side and the other is her storage. It's nice. It's all good. The staff seems very nice. The place is very nice and very attractive. With regards to activities, my friend is really happy with the activities. She has joined a couple of different things that she was interested in and it looks like she has a lot of choices. She is very pleased with it. She thought that it was very reasonable in terms of what she could afford and what she could expect from them. I think she is very happy with it so far."
