"The staff is the heart of Chesterfield Heights. From housekeeping to food service to custodial to management they are top notch. The management is very proactive and helpful whenever I call, email or stop by the office. I have experienced pre covid and covid conditions and the climate now is great as they safely ease out of restrictions. I would recommend to others without reservation. There are many choices of activities and field trips. The maintenance staff goes above and beyond the call. The building is always clean . The faith based options are a big bonus for my mom. If they have an opening, don't let it slip away!!!"

"Lakewood was very impressive. Unfortunately, it was during COVID, so we didn't get to tour the living facilities. They had just finished renovations. Their staff was really pleasant and nice. I even put a deposit down there. That's a buy-in, and I would love to go there, but they're a little bit more expensive than I can handle. They have two meals a day, which are lunch and dinner. They had two or three restaurant-type things. They had their main dining room, which was like restaurant service. Then they had a bistro, a private dining room, and they had a snack shop. All the amenities were great. One of the things I like was it has Life Care. They have good exercise equipment, a pool, medical facilities onsite, transportation to medical appointments within limits, nice lounge areas, and a library."

"My parents just moved into assisted living at Chesterfield at Brandermill Woods. The staff is very good and very friendly; they are top-notch. There are lots of activities and they have only been there a week, so they haven't really participated that much. The activities include exercise groups, shopping, movies, and just all kinds of things. I have tried the food and it is very good. I liked the friendliness, the hospitality, the nurturing and caring, and the staff-to-patient ratio. Overall, it is a very hospitable place. The rooms are excellent. "

"I tend to think Brandermill Woods is a new high rise. They are not nearly as well staffed. They seem to be too few people of the size of things that they were dealing with. They have a number of cars and other vehicles to take people to the places they would like to go including taking them to the doctors. The rooms are almost as gorgeous as my own home, and I'm an architect and interior designer. They have a tennis court, swimming pool, and all kinds of gymnasium equipment. They have a walking path and just about anything you can possibly think about. The fact that nothing is ever closed -- it is like the security of a hotel. I haven't seen what I want to do there as yet. "

"Avery Point is a beautiful new community. The floor plans of the apartments are nice and all the amenities are great. The drawback is it only has independent living right now and it will be a few years before the other stages are finished. So, that was a negative but they have their own doctor and medical center there. I thought that was good. They had a good full-term doctor. The one-bedroom apartment had one and a half bath, which I think is nice. They have good dining rooms, an indoor pool, a sewing room, and a little cocktail bar area. They were having a gym class when I visited."

"We liked Everleigh Short Pump. The administrators and staff were very friendly. We saw two different units available, a community area, workout area, and pool area. The facility is spotless. They did a nice job with their community. The staff who gave us a tour was wonderful."

"This community is a gem nestled in the heart of Tuckahoe. It has 10 communal spaces, 3 different dining rooms, and 3 outdoor spaces. There are different options for floorplans."

"Harvest Glen Community is a mile from my house. I like that it's a single floor, and it's a nice open layout inside. They do have a clubhouse and a pool. I think they do all the yard work with outside maintenance. The place is fine. I have been there a lot because I know older people that live there. They have garages attached, which is nice. The staff was very nice, they let us in, and they were fine."

"My Father lived at Summerhill for a little over eight years before he passed. He enjoyed gardening, playing bridge, and having his own unit that he bought. Summerhill has transportation for residents to go shopping, to a doctor's appointment, to church, and to special planned events. The staff at Summerhill is very pleasant, helpful, and there is round the clock security at the entrance and throughout the community. My father loved living there, and my brother and I were pleased with how he was able to maintain his lifestyle and enjoy new things. The unit he had was two bedroom and two full baths, a kitchen, dining area/living room, washer and dryer, and a lovely covered front porch. "

"Cedarfield is a large facility. They have multiple eating venues. They have a lot of nice-sized apartments and a lot of facilities that appealed to me. There's a large park nearby with easy access, which appeals to me, too. They have multiple floor plans, but I am interested in the one-bedroom apartment, and that's what I looked at. I had a nice interaction with various staff people. They had a lot of nice common facilities like a swimming pool, a gymnasium, and a theater."

"I loved Dogwood Terrace. It's a beautiful place. I liked everything about it. When I walked in the door, it was just a feeling of warmth. There's nothing that I did not like about it at all. That's why I'm taking my loved one over there today. They're very courteous and kind. Everything is just great. They have a variety of things for the residents to be busy with, so I fell in love with it. They have a salon, a small gym, a playroom, and a lot of stuff. They have balconies in every room and everything I can imagine that would be nice."

"I was a guest for their holiday party, and WOW what an amazing job they did! The food was spectacular! They had a carving station, fresh pasta bar, and a seafood tower which consisted of cold jumbo shrimp and fresh shucked oysters. There was music everywhere! A harpist in the dining room, pianist on the second floor, and this jazz band on the third floor! They truly catered to their residents in more ways than one. We will certainly be back!"

"I took a tour of Discovery Village At the West End. I saw the facility. The people there were wonderful, and I really liked it. It was further away from where I wanted to be, and it was more expensive. This facility had a building that was independent living and another building that was assisted living. There was a third building that was memory care. I was invited to return and eat there. The people that I met were very friendly. The residents were very friendly. They were in the middle of a yoga class when I was there. They were very nice, and the place was very pleasant. There were two women that I met with, who were in the sales area. They were both extremely pleasant and extremely invested in their community. They love where they work, and it shows. It was not old, but it was an older facility compared to the other one I toured. The decor is not in-style for today, but it fit with the people that they have there. Their median age is 82."
