"The place that I have chosen is Parkview in Charlottesville, VA. One of the reasons was because it's less expensive, and there weren't many differences between the more expensive places and this one. They gave me a tour, we talked about money, and they told me that I was on the waiting list. They were very open and very nice. The apartments were just fine. They were not quite as nice as another place that I would like to have chosen, but that place was more expensive. They have activities and amenities, like an exercise room and, if you want to have people over, there's a special room for guests. They also have laundry and a TV room. I have made the decision that this is where I want to go, and I don't want to go to any other place. "

"Westminster-Canterbury of the Blue Ridge is the cream of the crop. Everything is top of the line as far as very wide and beautiful architecture going from cottages of several different sizes to units within the building of many different sizes. They have physical therapists there. By paying the deposit to be in their Compass Club for future openings, you can eat there six times a year for free, use the facilities, and go on trips, but you have to pay the fee. That really gives you a chance to step inside and know what it's like to partake in the facility and what the residents and the staff are truly like on that basis more than just a tour. They had an indoor pool and you can take classes or use it for water therapy on your own. It looks out over the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Southwest Mountains. They have their own little shuttle bus that will take people during the week to shopping, etc. It's multilevel care, multilevel facilities, but it's not all in one building. It has a large campus area. If you need your meds only, they'll come in and do it. You have the standard fee and it's not going to be menu driven. Everything was great and the food was tremendous."

"Summit Square is a lovely facility.I attended a bible study there that my church provided and met many of the residents and staff. A warm and caring environment.Very clean.Residents speak very highly of the staff and opportunity for many varied activities and fellowship.I am a geriatric nurse and have visited many facilties.I would highly recommend Summit Square. "

"We are extremely pleased with Stuarts Draft Retirement Community and Christian Homes. It is a Christian community. I have sisters and brothers that go by there. We have developed a first-name basis on the attendance. They're extremely educated and well versed in caring for elderly people. We find them to be extremely helpful. We are very pleased. Mom wants to come home, of course, but knowing that that's not possible anymore, we are pleased that she's getting the care that we feel she needs. She's just in assisted living. The dining area is pleasing. The rooms are normal sized and it has an adjoining bathroom. We have requested a single room with a bathroom, but it wasn't available yet. The one that she has is adjoining. There are two rooms supplied by the one bathroom. She seems to be happy with the meals. I don't think any of us have gone to eat a meal with them, but she seems to be pleased with it. They have personal care. They have people that come in to do hair and nails and stuff like that. There's a lady that comes in and does exercise with them if they wanted therapy. There's a doctor that visits the site once a week. They have church services on Sunday morning. During the week, they have craft classes."
