My mother-in-law is staying in an independent living called Dogwood Terrace by Barclay. She feels comfortable there. She has had a couple of problems with the apartment, but the maintenance comes in very quickly and fixes whatever needs to be fixed. The staff is very responsive. We have called them a few times because she was having some issues, especially when she moved in, with the internet and they worked things out very well so she could feel comfortable. Every time she has a problem, and she calls them, they don't just let things fall through the cracks. They find a resolution immediately and fairly quickly. She is also very happy with the food there.

We toured Dogwood Terrace by Barclay, but I would not like to live there at all. There was nowhere to even look at trees. They bragged that every apartment had a balcony, but the balcony view was parked cars. It was not especially nice. It just didn't appeal to me. The rooms were small, and the view was bad. The staff was nice, but he just seemed slick. He was more like selling something than he was trying to help me. The public part of it was very nice, luxurious, and large. But the private rooms were tiny and sparse.

Dogwood Terrace by Barclay is just independent living, but they have some people who stay there when they need more assistance. They have a care company that can come in. There was a man who gave me the tour and he was excellent. I was impressed with the size of the rooms. They had kitchenettes which means it doesn't have a stove, but it has a place for a refrigerator, a sink, and a countertop where you could put stuff like a microwave, a coffee maker, or whatever you wanted. If I were living in a place like that, having a dining room and a chef is all that I would need. I think they have a kitchen available, a couple of them, that you would be able to go and cook if you want to. They had very, very spacious rooms. The man was exceptionally nice. It was interesting because that's the only place where I saw people. They were at the game room playing games, people walking around, and people outside waiting to get on one of those buses. It's not a big bus, but the kind where they have to go to various places. The way they did it would work. The man was exceptionally friendly and he's the one that gave me a ticket to come over and have lunch. I just haven't done it yet.

I loved Dogwood Terrace. It's a beautiful place. I liked everything about it. When I walked in the door, it was just a feeling of warmth. There's nothing that I did not like about it at all. That's why I'm taking my loved one over there today. They're very courteous and kind. Everything is just great. They have a variety of things for the residents to be busy with, so I fell in love with it. They have a salon, a small gym, a playroom, and a lot of stuff. They have balconies in every room and everything I can imagine that would be nice.

I love living at Dogwood. I tell everyone I don't know why I was afraid to move and wish I moved sooner. The staff are so kind and help out with everything. The residents become quick friends and if your like me you will start calling Dogwood home before you even realize it.

Dogwood Terrace makes my aunt feel safe. I love the staff. They are extremely friendly, understanding, open, welcoming, and available. They have bingo cards, TV nights, and they do a lot of stuff. They had flags all over for Memorial Day while for Mother's Day, they invited your whole family for a meal and the meal was amazing. It was cooked by a local popular chef. So, they offer a lot. They even offer to take you to the grocery store. My aunt loves her apartment. It has a balcony and they clean up once a week. So, she loves it.

Dogwood Terrace was the one I favored the most. The rooms were nice, and all of them had balconies. They had 1-bedroom and 2-bedrooms. I was happy with the 1-bedroom and the efficiency for one person. I liked that the balcony looked like it was sitting in a nice, wooded environment that went all the way around it. I love that the entryway was open and right off the dining room. You didn't feel like you were enclosed in a room, like in a hospital. The staff was wonderful. They had a small gym, a small library, and a game room. I looked at the menu, and I thought it was nice. It was like being in a restaurant. You didn't have to get up for the buffet. They had a server.

We toured Dogwood Terrace, and we had lunch there. I liked the atmosphere and the look of the place when you go inside. It was light, airy, and wasn't dreary looking. Also, I liked the friendliness of the staff. Chris was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. I noticed the residents that lived there. I was checking out their overall attitude and everything. It seemed like everyone was happy there. I had a nice experience when I walked in. The food was good. On that particular day, they had barbecue chicken. I had spinach, mashed potatoes, and a salad. They brought rolls around for everyone. You had your choice of drink. The way they did the meals was excellent, and that is how they do them every day. I really liked that. It was really nice.

We went to Dogwood Terrace. We had lunch there. The food was good. They had several choices on the menu, and they served you at the table (which I thought was really nice). They came and took your order, so it's like a restaurant. I thought the staff was very nice. He showed us all of the facilities that were in the room, the game tables, and the little movie theaters that they have set up. He showed us some of the apartments which were good. He showed us the studio and also a one bedroom. They were clean and I thought that either one would have worked for my husband. I thought it looked a little tired, but it was perfectly liveable. I thought it was a really nice facility. The sales manager was lovely; Chris was very pleasant and informative. They were very, very nice there.

Dogwood Terrace was real nice and real clean. The rooms were good size. We got to see a couple of different styles and units. Everything looked real well. We talked to one of the people that live there, and she said she loved it. She loved living there. It's a very nice place. The person we were supposed to meet wasn't there. From what we were told, whoever I talked with to make the appointment didn't relay to the facility that we were coming, so the lady we spoke with actually took us around. She was real knowledgeable and real nice. She could only tell us so much because she didn't do that on a regular basis. They had some menus laying there, so I picked up one. They had the calendar sitting there also for the whole month of activities and stuff, and it looked like they had a lot going on there. She showed us all the rooms that were there and what they had and could do. It was very nice. They didn't have a lot of grounds there; but they had a sidewalk all the way around the building, so they could walk on a surface instead of having to walk on a dirt path, which is good.

The general age of the people living at Dogwood Terrace was a little older than what my friend is looking for. The gentleman I met with talked about it, and he said their sweet spot is 70's to early 80's, and my friend is only 60 years old. The facilities were gorgeous, the amenities were outstanding, but it was just not a community where it would be easy for my friend to have a lot of things in common with other people. That was the only drawback. Other than that, there was nothing that made me unhappy about the place. The residents were having their lunch while I was there, the atmosphere was quite lovely, and everyone seemed lovely. They were sitting in groups. I did not see anyone being isolated or looking ostracized. The food smelled good, but I didn't try to taste anything.

There are a variety of rooms/apartments that are available. They are very nicely laid out and provide a welcoming atmosphere to residents. The staff takes a personal interest in the residents. They have oftentimes chatted with us regarding our relative to make certain their needs are met. They are quick to greet you with a smile when you enter the building. They offer a variety of games and activities throughout the day to keep residents active and engaged. This is a wonderful facility and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

Dogwood Terrace is very nice, the staff was very helpful, and the model apartment was very nice. I was offered the food, but I didn't try it. They offered 3 meals a day. It was nice enough that I would consider living there myself.

Dogwood Terrace was one of my favorite ones. I like it a lot. It was in a nice zip code or area, it's clean looking, you see a bunch of apartments where people are actually living in, and it was like an apartment complex. It was all connected, and inside there's a big dining area. It was fairly new, and it's very nice. They actually had apartments with balconies, the staff was friendly, and I was shown a studio, a 1-bedroom and a 2-bedroom.

I thought Dogwood Terrace was great. It was clean, but it was too far from me. If I had lived another 2 miles closer to them, it would have been ideal. I got a feeling of professionalism, and there was an overall feeling of care.
