"My mom has been at Marley Neck for over 16 years with Dementia. She has needed full care her entire stay. It's not a fancy place but my mom has been treated like I would've cared for her if I could have. Some of the staff has been there since her admit and they made sure to help her participate in whatever she could. Before covid I would have lunch with my mom but I had no worries when I couldn't see her for a while. We face timed to keep in touch. It's definitely a testament to the great care my mom has received for her 16+ years here. "

"Recently I spent 6 weeks recovering from spinal surgery. i was skeptical of the place having heard tales about the place. IIchose to look at the stronger aspects of a staff working in covid restrictions. The staff was often short handed but for the most part I was treated with kindness and respect. They were attentive to my heavy pain periods. Many adaptations had to be made for covid, including no visiors, everyone wore masks, and weekly nasal swabs were done. Vaccinated patients were separated from unvaccinated. The physical and occpational therapists had to rearrange rooms ito allow for therapy. 2 wheelchairs, 2 commodes,e 2 walkers, 2 dinner trays.. hd to be rmoved in order to do some therapy. The therapists were wonderful and personable; they really worked with me when they saw how motivated I was. It takes a special type of person to be in the health field, to be care providijng. There will always be a few who shouldn/t be in this profession. There will always be some complaints about food or rundown conditions. However, one's attitude and adapting to a situation wilil ultimately determine if yoU had a good stay. i s grateful for the care I received. "

"I've visited this facility and it was pretty good. the GNA's are great but one specifically stood out the most always had a smile on her face and made me feel happy while being there Antonique M. she took care of my mom on the Chesapeake unit and my mom absolutely loved her. the nurses are fine but i think they are quiet lazy and dont take action as they should. they dont answer lights i just observed they gave meds and left no compassion for their patients."

"My husband was a patient here for COVID. The facility is really impressive & everyone was very nice to talk to & treated my husband very well. There were a few hiccups but overall a great experience. My husband loved the food and cleaned his plate every day."

"My father was recently a patient at Heritage Harbor and was there for 4 weeks. He started off in a shared room which was quite cramped, as he was in the side closer to the door. We requested a private, and after 5 days they moved him to his own room, so that was much nicer and well equipped. The staff was very responsive when we asked for things like a different mattress, a recliner chair, etc. Even if they couldn't help out right away, they responded quickly. The care from the nurses and aides was generally good, although a little spotty. In general I have found that if a patient has an advocate with them, things go a lot better. My dad said he thought that everyone was a lot more helpful if I was there with him. I think for the most part everyone there really tried to make my dad comfortable and accommodate his requests. Also, as he regained his strength and didn't need as much help, things seemed to go a lot better. Overall though, I was impressed by the PT, OT and speech therapists- they are all excellent. Also the two administrators were very caring and attentive. Every time I saw them they chatted with me about my dad and asked how he was doing. The dietitian tried really hard to accommodate my dad's needs, but the kitchen didn't seem to back her up very well. Overall I would say that the care exceeded my expectations and I would recommend Heritage Harbor to anyone needing a rehab. "

"It is top-notch. It is a great facility. I would recommend it. I liked it, and if my mother, my wife, or I need to go, we will be there. The place did not smell like urine, it was clean, and it had beautiful and big rooms. What I saw, I really liked. "

"Mother spent 100 days with this amazing team after a debilitating stroke. The patience and commitment of this team of therapists, nurses, doctors, and Roz was extraordinary. Only places that didn’t excel were the food, and communication by the nursing staff during a COVID outbreak. The PT and OT team taught her how to walk, complete self care, eat again. Mental health team counseled her through the darkest days. As a family, Spa Creek was a light for us. They are compassionate, they listen, they were creative, and they were partners in this journey. "

"I am pleased with Bay Ridge Health Care Center. We just have some issues concerning communication. I've been playing cat and mouse with the social worker trying to find out what's going on and what's the progress about our Medicare coverage but we haven't heard anything about it. They used to tell me everything about my mom once a week. But now I haven't heard anything for the last three weeks so I put in several calls and they just put in the call to the nurse. When I ask the nurse how she is doing, she always say that she is doing fine. I want to know what's going on. I want more detailed information. I want every department to call me and tell me everything about her condition. I think they should communicate with the families on a regular basis. "

"I am moving in soon at Baywoods of Annapolis because it looks like a very nice community on the waterfront. The people seemed very pleasant. It offers all of the amenities that we’re interested in. There are one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments. The food is excellent. "

"South River Nursing and Rehabilitation Center serves as a nursing home, assisted living facility, and Hospice home for the terminally ill. The reason for my visits were to visit my aunt as she was battling cancer. She needed around the clock nurses to help her attempt to beat the illness and unfortunately her family could not provide that at the time. One of the reasons I put this nursing home in such high regards is the fact that they accepted her into the program even though financially we were all incapable of covering the costs. They actually cared to see her make improvements, it was not just about money to them, and that meant a lot to us all. The grounds are beautiful both inside and out, with a colorful and inviting garden in the front that makes visitors and patients feel welcome. Instead of looking like a medical facility, it looks more like a large house that has been very well cared for. They even have a sizable deck on the back of the house with a grill, patio furniture, and garden waterfall. The landscaping was clearly designed with the intentions of providing a quiet, peaceful place for the patients to heal. They allowed her to have her own room, which was quite large and had full cable t.v., a large window, and seating for her guests. The nurses took impeccable care of her; even when she was not able to bathe herself any longer they made sure she maintained her hygiene regularly. Because of an intestinal blockage caused by the cancer and lack of appetite, there were times when she couldn't/wouldn't eat food. Her nurse would make numerous attempts at finding small things she could digest and would enjoy just to make her comfortable. They even allowed us to throw her a small birthday party, giving us full access to the back deck, kitchen, and common living room. Her nurse even bought her a few small nicknacks to liven up her room, and surprised her with circus peanuts, which has always been her favorite candy. They provided her with top notch care, and they fought for her recovery just as hard as the people who were her own blood. When finally came time for her to be with God, they made it a point to contact the family, offered her religious rites of passage, and consoled those of us who just couldn't bear to see another loved one pass. It was a wonderful facility, and even though I hope to never have reason to see another loved one need nursing assistance, if it happens, I hope that South River Health will be there just as they were for my Aunt. "

"I didn't like the way Hammonds Lane kept their patients, and I didn't like the way they kept the place. I just didn't like it. The good thing about it was they did have activities. They had daily activities, and they had a nice schedule of activities. It would be a nice building and everything, if it wasn't for the smell. Their location was nice; there was a senior center probably a half mile down the road from where they were located. In Brooklyn they have a lot of stores and things like that, and it has little places where you could sit and eat, if they want to take them places. They had both the Rite Aid and the Walgreens down there; they were right across from each other. "

"My husband is in Lorien Elkridge for physical and occupational therapy. He's doing much better now and he's going to be discharged soon. He's getting excellent care here. They have excellent OT and PT services. The staff is very much in tune with what's going on and they have been excellent. They provide transportation when my husband goes to his orthopedic surgeon. Overall, it's a great facility but the food is a bit mediocre."

"We found the staff generally responsive and caring. Requests for medicine, blankets And transportation were met in a timely manner. Staff is friendly and have a positive attitude. The nurses are working all the time. Housekeeping is also busy. It is not a new facility so furnishings may appear dated. Care and recovery for the patient are the goal, not plush curtains. Family visits are encouraged and should be done as often as possible."

"Staff at Canton on unit one where I was a patient treated me like family. I would recommend this facility to all. I am back home and getting back to normal."
