Memory Care Communities in Severna Park, MD

"My mom lived in the memory care section at Regency Park. She came from a different assisted living in Laurel, MD. My mother THRIVED while living at Regency Park. She loved all of the care staff that took care of her. The kitchen made special meals of what she personally liked to get her to eat more. They had individualized activities for those in their Dementia care unit - I just wish they offered a little more with the activities in the memory care unit. Not everyone can play bingo or do puzzles. I recommend Regency to anyone who is in need of assisted living or memory care. "

"I went to look at The Hamlet at Queenstown. The facility was well-run. The staff was very courteous, friendly, and accommodating. The amenities and the facilities were very nice. If my mom only needed assisted living, it's a nice place. The kitchen was very clean. Nobody was expecting me to come, but the facility was extremely clean."

"Spring Arbor Of Crofton was lovely. The facility was very clean and well kept. I especially like the colors on the walls and the carpeting. The staff answered all our questions. The dining area was very inviting. They had a salon. The outside area was very attractive."

"I would highly recommend Charter. It is a lovely facility with great food, wonderful activities and a caring staff. My Mother was there recently for vascular dementia and was very happy. Unfortunately, she suffered a stroke and left us in January. Our family is most appreciative of the kindness and caring that Charter provided to her during her time there. Thank you."

"The staff is professional and very caring toward the residents. It's all very wonderful. The facility has 16 private rooms for its residents and one bathroom for every two rooms. The rooms are simple but clean and nice and all of them have windows that overlook the grounds. My mother likes it very much."

"I went to Arcadia of Crofton. I was impressed. There seemed to be a good ratio of people assisting. I got there around the time that they were cooking and the food smelled good. The residents look fine. I visited and I was happy. They have two houses. The grounds look peaceful. It's convenient for me. This is the facility that I may consider if my husband has to go into an assisted living facility. The rooms were fine. They have rooms with a private bathroom and they have rooms where you share a bathroom."

"Our tour at Inspirations Assisted Living & Memory Care of Linthicum went wonderful. The staff was very friendly. The place was very nice and clean, and the people sitting there looked wonderful. They didn't know I was coming because I was across the street when they called. So it was like an unscheduled visit and everything was very nice. The food smelled wonderful coming out. Everything looked wonderful there. The room had a bed with a TV, a bureau, a chair, and then a full bathroom. It was small, but that's all they needed. The lady showed us the activity room and there were rocks painted in the windows. She said they try to do activities every couple of days with them. The staff was wonderful. They were very nice and very concerned. When the lady was talking to me, a resident was starting to get out of her wheelchair and running to her. She excused herself and said that the resident's more important, which was true, and I agree with her. They were great."

"It was great. The staff was very informative and answered my questions. The community is beautiful, bright, clean, and brand new. A lot of residents were out and active. One time, we were there for happy hour, and then we were there for bingo. It was beautiful. Their dining area is large, bright, and clean."

"I didn't feel Alma's Grace Assisted Living was a good fit for my mom. The majority of the residents were male. The rooms were satisfactory. The staff was helpful, but I really didn't stay long. It was a quaint house. I didn't have any problems other than I just didn't feel it would be the right fit."

"I saw New Horizon Assisted Living in Overbrook Lane. Most of the people were sharing a room; they have no private rooms. The staff was very friendly, they were there all the time, they lived on the premises. The amenities are kind of limited. It was very clean. It's not far from restaurants and hospitals."

"My sister stayed at Caring Hearts & Hands ALF for respite. She enjoyed being there and she was comfortable. We only met the lady that runs and owns the place. We saw one of the meals that she was preparing and it looked very appetizing. My sister said she ate very well while she was there. When I picked her up, she was in good shape. She was happy there."

"Tribute at Melford is a beautiful community. My mom lives there now. It's only three years old. They have invested a lot in their staff to make sure that they're trained and educated on interacting with residents who have cognitive challenges. They have great cognitive plans that involve a lot of variety of things to strengthen the brain and to keep the residents engaged with one another. It is beautifully decorated, and the rooms are fantastic. It's got a lot of modern day conveniences. You literally do not even feel like you're stepping into a memory care community, but you're stepping into a posh hotel/boutique instead. It's really, really nice. Everything is digitized. I also love the fact that it is small. There's only 17 residents, which is what I really like. The family members not only just check on their loved one, but they check on others. While my mom is going through transition, I've had other family members sending me pictures and texting me with any updates about how my mom's adjusting. The food is fantastic. They cater to her. I like that there are lots of age ranges from younger seniors, too. Memory care residents can take advantage of what's happening in assisted living. They got a beautiful home theater, a beautiful gym, fireplaces, café lounges, live entertainment, happy hour on Fridays, and all this stuff on the main part of the building. Memory care had a fireplace set up too, but it was like a faux fireplace. It gave the same illusion. They have their own big screen TVs for movies, but they can go down to the theater room. I love the fact that the staff addresses every single challenge we have with memory prescriptions that may have not been updated from the health care provider. So, they work with us on that. My mom just lit up like the sun. She's laughing, smiling, and making friends now. They want to get to know each other, and she wants to get to know them. She's in good hands. Lastly, they were the only one that had a fixed rate for memory care. They do an initial assessment, but it doesn't change the fixed rate."

"My dad is currently in New Horizon Assisted Living LLC. It has an open space, and there's more room for the residents to walk around. It's a small community, and it is clean. The staff there doesn't tell me too much. The place is clean and everything is spaced out. It has wooden floors, and it's easier for them to move around. They have a dining area and a little courtyard where the residents can go out and sit."
