Very well run; professional staff; responsive to individual needs: food and food service get lower marks but all these assisted care facilities seem to struggle with quality food and food service. The physical facilities are excellent. I woulnot hesitate to recommend

Sunrise of Annapolis was absolutely beautiful. People were lovely and you couldn't ask for anything more in an assisted living. It was just very expensive. That's the only drawback. They have a barber/hair salon, activities, games, and a nice dining room.

My mom was a resident of Sunrise of Annapolis. Overall, it's a pretty good facility. The food wasn't particularly exciting, but it probably is not in most places. It is for people needing assistance, not for independent living. The people, the staff, by and large, are very nice and accommodating. The director was very good, and the front desk was also. They were very helpful to me there. The one difficult thing was that in the last few months, my mother needed more care. She needed the care to get to the bathroom and back, and they didn't have the staff or the ability to take care of that. She had to wait a long time for somebody to come in. If she was in the bathroom, they would forget about her. I came in one night, and she had been sitting on the toilet for an hour, her legs had gone to sleep. She was in pain and couldn't move and I immediately got help for her. They just wanted to put her in diapers, and my mother refused. They hid her walker, and then she started going to find her walker and use it. So, they told me I'd have to hire a private nurse if I needed that kind of care. She didn't want to be in diapers, so I had to hire a full-time private nurse, which wouldn't work. The last few weeks of my mother's life, that didn't work well. But all in all, I think they're a good facility with good staff. They try very hard to accommodate the people there. It was probably that in my mother's last month, her health deteriorated to where she needed more care than they could provide. When people are right at the end of their life, most people would have given up and stayed in bed and been in diapers. But my mother was a strong woman mentally and physically, and she didn't want to do that.

My husband was in Sunrise of Annapolis. It's very pricey, I don't think the price matches the care. I know some of the staff were very nice and friendly, but some of them I didn't care for. They weren't unpleasant to my husband, but I don't think they liked me very much. I thought they were short-staffed from the 3-11 pm shift. It seems like they're always in a hurry to get the residents fed and get cleaned up so that they can clean up. They wanted to charge me for more care. In my opinion, the care was not there for the money. The facility is very nice, it's more geared toward assisted living than memory care. When I first took him there, their expressions were like, Oh, I got to do this again, or I got to lift him again, they never said those words, but the facial and body language showed that. I'm not saying everyone was like that. There was one caregiver, Steve, who was great as a caregiver, but he was only one person. How does one person take care of 11 people? They had one person for ten people on one side, one person on the other side from 3 to 11, and then a floater. I thought the food there was not very good either, it's very institutionalized food.

My husband was a resident of Sunrise of Annapolis, and it wasn't perfect by any means. I liked that it was close to me, and I liked that he had his own private space. However, I had repeated issues trying to get him showered once a week, never more, and usually not even that. They also had no housekeeping staff. They told me that the med techs were supposed to clean the apartments at night because things were slower. Their med techs were also taking people down to the dining room. Originally, my husband was well enough to do so. But ultimately, of course, he needed to have meals delivered to him, and sometimes he needed help. The people that didn't go to the dining room were the ones that needed the most help, but if you push your button during that hour and a half for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, they get ticked off at you and tell you you can't get any help because they're too busy. It's mealtime, but everybody's not involved in mealtime. They're all running around downstairs, hanging up the buzzing phones and yacking it up, and laughing with each other. I had some big problems with his care there. But it's laid out good enough and everything's where it needs to be.

Sunrise of Annapolis is excellent. My mother's apartment is very nice. They just did a whole bistro dining area, and they continue to do upgrades. Everything is just so beautiful. The outside gardens are so beautiful, and they have courtyard sets that are so beautiful. Mama's 95, so it's right at her level. She's so happy. I never thought I'd get her anywhere else. She loves the food. She loves to eat and she savors every bite, so if there was a problem, I would know about it. Sometimes, her breakfast runs into lunch and then she has her nap and goes into dinner. She's fine with the size of her apartment. What I chose for her was she has windows that wrapped all around her and she's on the 2nd floor, so she's like living in a little tree house, and it's beautiful. She loves the colors and she loves looking at the trees, birds, and stuff, so she's very happy. The value for money right now is a hard thing to say because four months after I put her in there, I wasn't able to see her anymore, but what I would say is that I love it.

I visited Sunrise, and the rooms were very nice. It was very well-furnished, very attractive, but way too big for my purposes. The dining room was very nice, well-lit, and attractive. They had outdoor areas that were attractive.

My tour with Sunrise was excellent. They were very professional, and the tour was done well. The rooms were a little on the small side, and most of the space was used for common areas, including beautiful sitting rooms where nobody was sitting at the time. There were people watching TV together.

Sunrise of Annapolis was basically the same, but it had different kinds of amenities. They had meal selections and activities daily for the residents. It was nice. The staff was warm and friendly and answered my questions.

Sunrise of Annapolis was an excellent place. My husband's aunt was actually there a couple of years ago, and it was very nice. The people were so accommodating and very attentive. My aunt had Alzheimer's, and she was like picking fight with almost everybody, but she loved it there. The people were so nice. They visited her twice a day to take her vitals and did the laundry. They came in the morning to put the clothes out and make sure that she got into the shower and went to breakfast. They had like little kitchenettes. There were not andany stoves or stove top or ovens. They only had a microwave, a little refrigerator where they could keep snacks. Her first room was very nice, and she did not share, but the second room, she had to go down a little bit because of money and she had to share a room. However, it was just sharing the bathroom and the kitchen. She still had her own living area and bedroom. Then she got so bad with Alzheimer's that they had to put her into the locked down section where she could not leave that area, but even that was nice. As a matter of fact, the first time I went over to visit her, I came home and I told my husband: "Sell the house. We are moving into Sunrise." They had three meals a day. They had snacks. They had a huge big screen TV. They would pop popcorn if there was anybody over there watching the movies. They took them out once a week for lunch. They had functions every now and then, once or twice a year where they invited family and friends.

Sunrise of Annapolis is a nice facility; it looked like Victorian. The hallways are really nice and very active. A lot of people visiting the people, and they’ve been great with my mom. I just felt comfortable; that’s why we picked it. The staff has been great and very helpful to her. They are very happy and seemed to like her a lot. The room is fine, she had a shared companion suite, and I thought it’s not going to work, but she seems fine with it and it’s closer to my family.

They were lovely at Sunrise of Annapolis. They were more communal. Everybody did everything as a group. The rooms had a bed and a place for clothes.

Sunrise has been great. If you need more services, you can go over to assisted-living and supported-living lifestyles, but they have their individual independent apartments as well. The rooms and apartments were great. It’s a newer facility, so it shows well when you walk in, and it’s really inviting because everything about it seems brand new. The staff was great. I went on a Saturday morning, so the staff was limited in what they were able to do, but I really liked it. It was also out of our price range. If I could afford it, that’s where I’d tell my mom to go.

We visited Sunrise, and it was very nice. I like them because I thought they were really great. It was right across the mall, and it was wonderful. I had a really positive reaction to it. It's just a complicated process trying to get her to agree to give up her condo. The staff was excellent. They treated us excellently. They were warm, friendly, and welcoming. They treated us really nicely. We saw someone that was cleaning, and they were really nice and friendly. They showed us a room that had a roommate, and I thought it seemed very comfortable. However, my mother-in-law is used to having her own condo, so she is just not quite ready to give that all up for what she thinks is a tiny room. They showed us several rooms actually. They showed us one that was kind of like a suite that was nice and big. I thought the suite room was big and roomy. The one bedroom room where they had to share was also nice and comfortable. It seems that it was divided up pretty evenly. Overall, I had a great experience with Sunrise.

My stepsister was in the Sunrise of Annapolis for two and a half weeks before she passed away. The place was very good, and the care was good as well. She was well-accepted there. We were very pleased with it. It was the perfect place for her. It worked out very well, and it was very homey. We were very happy with the care that they provided. It was absolutely clean, and they were very good about keeping it clean. They have resident cats and resident dogs that wander around the facility freely, and the residents enjoy having them.

Sunrise of Annapolis was a beautiful place. It was probably a medium-sized facility, and it would definitely have been a place that my mom would have liked. It was clean, the whole place was very beautiful, the staff was very nice, and the residents all seemed nice, friendly, and happy. I would have really liked to have been able to take my mom there.

Sunrise of Annapolis is a fantastic place. The living facility was really nice. The food was institutional, but it was good. The attendants were just wonderful. They were more than kind and helpful when we needed help or when we have a question.
