"My sister stayed at Caring Hearts & Hands ALF for respite. She enjoyed being there and she was comfortable. We only met the lady that runs and owns the place. We saw one of the meals that she was preparing and it looked very appetizing. My sister said she ate very well while she was there. When I picked her up, she was in good shape. She was happy there."

"I visited the New Horizon Assisted Living LLC in Bowie for my friend. We are choosing it for him because it's close, literally 10 minutes away from me, and it's nice. The community is also smaller than the facility where he is now. There are not as many residents. The capacity, I believe, is five or six, and I like the care. I had a chance to meet the owner and speak with the person who takes care of the patients. I asked a lot of questions, and I just thought the setting would be perfect or a better fit for my friend. The place was well-maintained, super clean, and everything was in its place. The in-home person who takes care of the patients went through her daily routine with the residents. She went over the time of the meals and the type of meals that they prepare. She also asked me questions about my friend's mobility and his cognitive abilities. She asked me multiple questions that I was happy about, because there were a few questions that I would not have thought to mention to her. She informed me that there is an alternate person who comes in on the weekends. She pretty much let me know what goes on in the house and what does not, in terms of recognizing certain events and holidays that they do not celebrate. It's just something that they don't do, but the families are still welcome to celebrate with their family members there, if we choose to."

"We chose Spring Arbor of Crofton because they have the services that we need, a very comfortable atmosphere, and friendly people. During the tour, we were accommodated by 3 different people and they were great; they were nice. They didn't invite me for lunch but the chef gave me a treat."

"It was great. The staff was very informative and answered my questions. The community is beautiful, bright, clean, and brand new. A lot of residents were out and active. One time, we were there for happy hour, and then we were there for bingo. It was beautiful. Their dining area is large, bright, and clean."

"I saw New Horizon Assisted Living in Overbrook Lane. Most of the people were sharing a room; they have no private rooms. The staff was very friendly, they were there all the time, they lived on the premises. The amenities are kind of limited. It was very clean. It's not far from restaurants and hospitals."

"Holy Hills Assisted Living was clean and bright. It was a smaller home, which is what I was looking for. There was a lot of sunlight coming into it. Everyone was friendly and very knowledgeable. I was able to get a folder full of information to bring home with me to review. Their dining area was spacious and clean. They offer activities. From the time I called, I was able to get in very quickly to see their property, so that was a plus."

I regret that my mother did not have the opportunity to reside there five years ago, when her need for assisted living first arose. The entire staff exceeded my expectations."

"This facility is awesome!! The rooms are spacious and clean. This in-home assisted living is newly certified and has been completely remodeled inside. The staff is beyond wonderful with my mother. She is their first official resident and she LOVES it there. She cried all the way to the facility that first day ... and now she considers it home ... which is a huge relief to me. They are very attentive and patient to all her needs and have been very patient with me as well as I navigate the details of having a loved one in a facility. My mother is bedridden and can't really walk now. They have made several successful attempts to get her up and in her wheelchair for strolls around the block and to just get her outside on nicer days. I am beyond grateful to them for their care and concern."

"My wife moved into Regency Park. It's beautifully maintained. They have full services, a social calendar, choices of meals, a beautiful library, a salon, and lovely grounds outside. It's just a lovely place. The director was very business-like and very forthright in the costs and everything available, very professional. The calendar of activities and things that are available was multiple. If you didn't like the main meal of the day, they always had alternates. So, the patient would have all kinds of choices. You weren't stuck. If you don't like beans and franks, you could get something else. It was one of the least expensive of the facilities that were available. It's around $6,000 a month, and others were up to $12,000."
