"My mom moved into Resilient Care Assisted Living. We chose them because the people who were there with them gave them the attention and care, and they did activities with them. They had a great selection of food. They made the food from scratch for the people living there. It is in good condition. Everything was there, and I was very happy and satisfied with them. They made sure that their patients got medical care. They made sure that the physicians showed up there to check on all the patients. Her apartment is spacious and comfortable. They make sure that she gets out and walks. They play games, dance, sing, and do many different things."

"We have chosen Henson Creek Assisted Living. The person who led the tour was very professional. They were timely. The facility was clean, quiet, and organized. The apartments are actually large rooms. The ones that I saw were single rooms. They were a very nice size and very roomy. They have private bathrooms that are wheelchair accessible. They include three meals per day and snacks. They have activities for the seniors. The level of care varies based on the needs, as well as having a staff nurse. They're easy to communicate with. They respond to your calls immediately or have someone respond to your calls. Another thing to note is that they also maintain the room, as far as cleaning it."

"My father was here for several years and when I first visited to see the facility I was amazed. The rooms were spacious and very clean, residents were seemingly happy and looked well taken cared of and were even outside on the deck enjoying a 4th of July cookout! The people were constantly doing activities and not just sitting around. It was very enjoyable. The living atmosphere was very personable. It didn't look like a business or anything. "Angel Assisted Living, LLC seemed like a nice house. Their room was nice. There was a bathroom off of the room. The residents looked happy. It seemed like there were a lot of nurses and people working there. I didn't have anything negative to say about that place. I liked it. The people there were nice. When I spoke to Angel, she was pleasant and answered questions that I had. The residents were very talkative to me, which means they were happy. They were very pleasant residents. "My dad is currently in New Horizon Assisted Living LLC. It has an open space, and there's more room for the residents to walk around. It's a small community, and it is clean. The staff there doesn't tell me too much. The place is clean and everything is spaced out. It has wooden floors, and it's easier for them to move around. They have a dining area and a little courtyard where the residents can go out and sit."

"Tribute at Melford is beautiful, but they don't have independent living. They only have assisted and memory care. The tour was excellent. The sales guide was very professional and very well prepared. The facilities were beautiful. The space was well laid out. It's all great. They had a generously sized studio, and it was very well laid out. The dining area was very elegant and very spacious. It was one of the nicest ones."

"I toured Fran Cares. The facility was very clean. The staff was very brilliant and showed me around. The rooms were clean and had a large bedroom. The only downside that I had with that particular facility, it only had one large bathroom that everyone used."

After touring several facilities in Bowie, nothing felt right—until I found Bowie Assisted Living (12001 Lanham Severn Road, Bowie, MD). From day one, the staff treated my dad like family, showing genuine compassion and care. He received daily showers, three daily home-cooked meals, and plenty of activities like Bingo, singing, and group exercises. The staff checked on him regularly, even overnight, and allowed personal touches like his recliner and a bird feeder outside his window. When his health declined, they worked seamlessly with hospice to ensure his comfort and dignity. The facility is warm, welcoming, and far from the sterile feel of many others I visited. "My sister stayed at Caring Hearts & Hands ALF for respite. She enjoyed being there and she was comfortable. We only met the lady that runs and owns the place. We saw one of the meals that she was preparing and it looked very appetizing. My sister said she ate very well while she was there. When I picked her up, she was in good shape. She was happy there."
