"I saw a couple of two-bedroom apartments at Glen Meadows, and I liked them very much. I also liked the idea of being able to have couple of cats there, as they're a pet friendly community. Also, the apartment that I looked at, though I don't know if we would be able to have that one, somebody had screened in the balcony, which would have been ideal because you could sit in the sun there. I also liked the idea that there was a kitchen there, and if you don't like to go to dinner, you could fix yourself a snack. They had services to grocery stores, shopping, or a doctor's office if you wanted to. The lady that worked with us was very friendly, and I liked her very much. I thought she was very honest about everything. She gave us a good feedback and materials to bring home to read. Another thing that was impressive was that it looked very clean and nice. We were very happy, and though we visited other places, I decided that's where we wanted to go. I likd the community, and I also likd where it was because it wouldn't be that far away from my son, who will be only a mile from us. "

"We went to Oak Crest. They only have apartments. There's no housing whatsoever, but they do have facilities where they take care of you if anything happens. We took the tour, and I said to my husband, "There is no way I can live in a teeny tiny room like that. No way." If we're going to go there, we want a place on the main floor so we can walk out because we have a dog. I don't want to run up and down an elevator with my dog. Also, they didn't have anything available, and what they did have, I didn't like, and neither did my husband. We went to lunch with my daughter's in-laws that live there. They have a one-bedroom with a den apartment. The den is off the kitchen. It's open, and there are no walls. There is just a half-wall between the kitchen and the den, so if somebody is watching TV or in the kitchen, you don't have anywhere to go except in the bedroom, and who wants to do that? Not me. The lady that gave us the tour was fine. She knew what she was doing. She was informed. The place was immaculate, too."

"My mother-in-law stayed in Franklin Woods for rehab. It was a lot better than some of the other ones. The staff members were nice. My mother-in-law loved the food. They had plenty of activities going on, so she certainly could have gotten involved in them. I would have thought that they would push her to do more activities than she did because most of the time, she didn't do a lot. They had sing-a-longs, bingo, and musicians playing guitar. Her room was double occupancy, but they kept it clean."

"Ivy Hall was where my mother transitioned to assisted living. Overall, it was very good. The only thing I ever noticed about any of the nursing homes is the smell when you go in. They have a strong urine odor. I would recommend them, but they should improve on the general smell when you walk in the front door. "

"Manorcare Health Services – Rossville is kept very clean and the staff has been lovely to my mother. They have bingo, arts and crafts, movies, and they celebrate birthdays. The food looks and smells pretty good."

"Lochraven is a wonderful facility with a great housekeeping/dietary department and nursing does a great job taking care of the residents. Levi has a great wealth of knowledge and always supports his staff, thank you Levi and your team.."

"My mother-in-law is in Stella Maris in Lutherville-Timonium right now. The big difference with this facility is they have actually set up a rehab plan. The goals they've set are realistic, and that she can easily reach to show progress. Her room is very clean. We have brought in personal items to try and make it a little bit more homey. They talk to us almost every day in regards to how she's doing. So, communication is very good. The facility is nice, well kept, well furnished, and very pleasing. The food looks very good and very well prepared. They've made it very healthy in regards to what the doctor has instructed on what she should have and what she shouldn't have."

"Overlea Health is in a questionable neighborhood but once you get inside, it's OK. The staff was very caring and made sure my grandfather was clean, changed, etc. They did a far better job compared to his previous community, and we were happy with the care that we were getting. The food was average. Sadly, one small accident significantly increased his illness and subsequently, he passed."

"I was able to visit ManorCare Health Services-Towson, and it was very good. I moved my grandfather to this facility, and they took very good care of him. Kudos to the nursing staff and the special services. "

"Edenwald is only two miles from my home and it is one of the communities where you go in independently and then you move up as you move in to different facilities they never allow anybody to go directly to the nursing home until very recently. The facility itself is wonderful. It is clean, it's open it's airy, when you look out the window, you'll see trees and it has a balcony. It's in a great location. The hallways are really wide. It is bright and cheerful. My father got his own room with his own private bath. They know me by name. They know my father by name and they call me with the slightest little thing. I love the communication. He is treated so well. The choice of food is outstanding. They have social activities every day. They also have auditorium and a swimming pool. I absolutely recommend it to others. "
