"I was recently a patient at this facility for around a month total. I cannot begin to express how much the staff genuinely cares for their patients physical and mental well being. My path is very much undetermined at this time, but they listened to every symptom and met every need while I was here. I had such a positive experience that I hope to recover and spend time volunteering and helping out the staff in the future. I highly recommend giving them the responsibility of caring for your loved ones as they live out their years or recover and come home to be with family. Job well done!"

"I toured Landis Homes. I like the place. What I didn't like about it was you had to go through a lot of hallways to get to the pool and some of the activities. They have a beautiful gym. What I liked about it was they manned their gym and their pool all the time that it's open. Now, some of these other communities don't. Landis Homes did, and they have a beautiful gym and pool, and they have railroads, trains. I sampled food there. They have three restaurants, too. It's very good. The staff is pleasant."

"Moravian Manor was a wonderful facility. My mother was surrounded by loving staff, they were always improving the facility, and it’s just a beautiful location up Lichester Country. We were very pleased with the care that she got there for a long time. They would have bingo and different discussion groups. Once a month or so they would take them outings, and residents would do bowling from their wheelchairs so they would take them on different outings, and the grounds were beautiful. The meals were good, and they had a nice café in the building where you could purchase different items. "

"We visited Willow Valley, which was very nice. It was not as close by, but it was a beautiful facility. It was absolutely beautiful riding by the independent homes because a lot of them are just like twin homes, and it's like a country club. It's a very new facility. They keep enlarging it and updating it. I would say, out of all the places we visited, it was probably the nicest and had a very good staff, but was probably the most expensive. I don't think it's affiliated with any religious groups so that when your money does run out, you're not just kept on. They have lots of activities. They even have a performing arts center. They have a small bus that will take people around to things and the usual arts and crafts. They have choirs coming and sing. I know each floor has its own kitchen so that you can go and make anything you want on your own. It had very nice dining facilities. I like the building itself. It's like staying in a luxury resort. It's not within anything that you could walk to. There's a shopping center. "

"Luther Acres is the one I would like to get into. It's very clean, and they're very efficient. They have a lot of amenities. They have bus trips, and you get so much a month for food to eat in their dining room. They have a church, a barber, a doctor, and a hairdresser right on the premises. The staff is very efficient, very courteous, and very nice."

"My father has been at Audubon Villa since April 2011. They have all single rooms which is very nice to have your privacy. He is receiving very good care and the nurses and aides are very caring, helpful and nice. They listen and address all his requests. He also enjoys the good food & selections. When I have questions the nurses are very willing to listen and give me updates or guidance. Audubon Villa is a very small facility located on Broad Street in Lititz. For our family it is very convenient. My father was at another facility I won't mention and we were not satisfied. We are very glad we made the change to Audubon Villa. As a caregiver you have a lot of decisions to make and they are not easy and often need to be made very quickly when someone is in the hospital. I would recommend checking with Audubon Villa if you have a loved one that needs that special skilled nursing care. "

"I did not have a good experience with my mother's move to nursing care in Arbor View for six months. They need updating and I did not find the staff helpful and nice to my mother or to us. "

"Very nice facilities, the food is very good, the medical staff on hand is also very good. But they'll still break your heart. Not the nurses or aids but the administrator. Case in point: my 91 mother who I visited daily had her heart issues, but still played video games on her computer to stay sharp mentally and got together with friends to play card games. One day after lunch was told that her apartment had been changed and that she now lived down the hall. No notice to anyone, no consultation with anyone in the family they just moved her. Broke her heart to be treated like that, her feelings were never taken into consideration. Classless move. "

"Willow Valley Communities was one of the best around here. It was an excellent facility and very expensive. It was a huge complex with a number of new apartments and cottages, and they continued to grow. I was there a couple of times, and it was a beautiful campus. I would definitely consider this place if I could afford it. "

"I went to St. Anne's Retirement Community. It's a beautiful residence and lots of real personality. One of the staff had done beautiful murals throughout the building. They care about making it feel like home. There were folks sitting outside when I came who lived there. They looked happy, and there was just a nice vibe when you walked in. They had less amenities than I expected, to be honest. They had social rooms, a beautiful chapel, and a nice cafe where you could go and you could dine with your family member as a guest; however, it looked like it was a cash restaurant (so it wasn't included in the meal plan). They had an activity room, and when I came they were about to start an activity. It looks like they've gotten people out of their rooms, and that was good to see. They have a policy where you have to eat two of the three meals in person each day. You can't just sit in your room; you really have to be part of the life of that place (at least that's how it seemed). I was disappointed in the rooms. It kind of almost looks like a nice studio setup where you have a little fridge and some even have sinks in the rooms, but then I realized that they did not have any staged rooms. They were just showing an empty room with a hospital bed in it. Each room had its own flat screen TV, and the landline was all ready to go. All you had to do was plug in the phone, so you didn't have to worry about TV and phone. I saw some of the actual residence rooms as I walked by, and they looked so cute. They looked like apartments, and I thought they were a different layout. It was because they live there and they were personalized, so I think that they need to pick a room and stage it. Otherwise it looks a little dismal, but they really can be adorable. They have a beautiful facility, and yet there wasn't a lot of worth from the admission staff. I think the staff who work there are probably fantastic. It was the admissions staff. I just wish they had been more enthusiastic about selling the place. It might be they don't need to because it's so popular, but that was concerning that they're not showing off how great it is. They had beautiful grounds; but for residents with higher needs, they don't have places to walk around outside. They had limited guest hours so that would be challenging."

"United Zion Retirement Community is very clean and well-kept. Their food is very good. They could use a little more staff. They're very nice, but each person has plenty to do. It doesn't have a swimming pool or some of the health things that other places have. I think the cost is a little less because of that. It's very well established. It's been here a long time. They have local people doing the cooking. I know they have invited some of the people who are in independent living to come into the kitchen and help them prepare food. They allow some of that, such as green beans, that they just need to have the ends snipped off and broken into pieces, things like that, not necessarily things that they would need to use a knife. I don't think they do a lot of trips and things like that. It's a very good value because it's a very safe place and very low key and I think that makes it very safe. There's nothing here I would improve. It's very secure. I chose it because of availability and reasonable rates plus their reputation here in town is excellent. They will be opening a new building and have 36 new apartments."
