"The rooms were very spacious and were always kept clean by housekeeping. Where do you find such wonderful personal. They always made me feel like I was the only person in the facility. I was retired in the Navy and spent 22 years in the medical field. Considering the number of patients in the facility, the different menu requirements and the food service being short staffed, the food was excelllant. I especially loved your mac & cheese and the baked chicken. I am a coffee adict and your facility always had coffee at all hours of the day. "Having Cerebral Palsy myself the bulk of my thirty year career has been assisting people with disabilities who wanted to leave nursing homes to live in their own home. Some would call me an advocate against nursing homes. That said, after having pneumonia and was in ICU for six weeks, I needed to go into a nursing home for rehabilitation. Based on knowledge of several places I chose Heritage Harbor, and was totally satisfied with my three week stay. The head doctor while mainly treating the elderly made all efforts to understand my needs with Cerebral Palsy. The 7-3 and 3-11 nursing staff was phenomenal, and I was confident in the care I received. My one complaint was the poor quality of care from the 11-7 shift, even from RN'S. "They were very accommodating even though I didn't make an appointment with them when I visited. We just walked in while at dinner time and they offered my husband if he wanted to sit and have dinner with everybody while this lady took me into the office and talked with me. They were open and like, "Sure you can come in" or "Have a meal with us" Those types of thing. I saw their food and it looked good. "

"The facility was pretty decent. I've been in a few others before and this one was rather clean and had a positive feel to it. I happened to visit on a Sunday and was able to sit in on Sunday service. There was a small praise band that visited with the seniors to sing and worship. They were all about trying to get the seniors involved in the music and to dance or clap along with their songs. Also the employees there would walk the seniors around the facility or push them in their chairs if they were immobile while holding nice positive conversations. In my honest opinion, if I ever needed to stay in a nursing home, I would have no problem staying at Mariner Health.Another great point to mention, Baltimore Washington Hospital is only about 100 feet away. This is great because emergency service is just a short jump across the parking lot. "

"I have a family member at marley neck health and rehab. She has received top quality care. The nurses and aids are so kind to her. They treat her like she is a part of their family. The nurses are extremely talented and knowledgeable. I have complete trust in them taking care of her. The rehab team is just and good. They make her work hard and have her on her way to get back home! The building is old and small and not as fancy as some of the newer places out there but I can understand why the government rated them 5 stars! That rating is based on the quality of care that is given, not the apperance! And that is what is MOST important in my book! "

"The admission staff were very helpful with the tour and explaining to me the rehabilitation therapy that my wife had to go through. I was very pleased with nursing staff that are caring for my wife. To be honest they under staff."

"Autumn Lake Healthcare at Glen Burnie takes care of all my medical needs. They transport me to my doctors' appointments and they provide physical therapy. I got a shared room. They are the ones changing/making my bed and cleaning up the room. It's as close to a family as you could probably get. The staff is really good. They're very friendly and real kind. I think they go out of their way. The food they have is just not the type of food I eat, but the place is exceptional, and the people I have to deal with every day are exceptional. I think what I'm paying and what they're charging is a wide spectrum. So, I think I'm getting a lot from my money."

"I am pleased with Bay Ridge Health Care Center. We just have some issues concerning communication. I've been playing cat and mouse with the social worker trying to find out what's going on and what's the progress about our Medicare coverage but we haven't heard anything about it. They used to tell me everything about my mom once a week. But now I haven't heard anything for the last three weeks so I put in several calls and they just put in the call to the nurse. When I ask the nurse how she is doing, she always say that she is doing fine. I want to know what's going on. I want more detailed information. I want every department to call me and tell me everything about her condition. I think they should communicate with the families on a regular basis. "

"We researched a variety of retirement communities for our mother and Baywoods of Annapolis was the best. In fact, it was better than expected. Our only regret is that she did not move in sooner given the opportunity to meet new friends and enjoy life to the fullest. Baywoods is like a cruise ship that never docks. The amenities are wonderful and the location and views of the water among the best in Annapolis. There is a gym, swimming pool, putting green, and boardwalk to and along the water. There is an arts and crafts center and a woodworking shop. There is a health center, and should you need it, a rehabilitation facility so you can stay at Baywoods when recovering from an illness or injury. There is underground parking and not one but two restaurants. The dining is outstanding with one of the top chefs in Annapolis. There are non-stop activities including live music, shows, movies and every holiday party you can name. If you wish to go out, there is a bus to take you shopping or dining, or to other appointments. There are all sorts of clubs you can join and weekly religious services in-house. You own your own apartment, but they take care of any problems including changing a light bulb! The hallways and common space were renovated this year with new carpeting, lighting, and new furniture. You can pick from a variety of apartment styles, sizes, and views but all are beautiful and functional. But beyond the facility itself are the outstanding employees and service. Everyone is so nice, and loving and caring. The staff are very attentive and helpful from the receptionist, to housekeeping and maintenance, to dining and all other services. We could not have been happier with the choice of Baywoods of Annapolis. "

"Mom has been in Hammonds Lane Center since August. I’m happy with it. I like the fact that they have plenty of nurses and aides in there. They constantly come up and talk to them. Whoever comes down the hall, management or whatever, they know all the people by name, they hug them, and they talk to them. It’s pricey, but not bad. They had bingo. There are church services. They have sing-along. They have people come in and sing. They have motion activities to get up, and they can use their hands in some motion-type things. They have an activity director there. My mom doesn’t have a lot of movability in her hands, but we were talking about getting her around people even if she doesn’t participate in activities. She told me she likes it there, and she doesn’t want to leave. "

"We found the staff generally responsive and caring. Requests for medicine, blankets And transportation were met in a timely manner. Staff is friendly and have a positive attitude. The nurses are working all the time. Housekeeping is also busy. It is not a new facility so furnishings may appear dated. Care and recovery for the patient are the goal, not plush curtains. Family visits are encouraged and should be done as often as possible."

"My grandmother's at Lorien Elkridge. She's in the nursing home part and she likes it there. She's confused, so, I think it's hard for her to give her opinion. But we've been happy with everything there. The staff has been great so far. We can bring whatever we want in with her. They've been very nice to her. We like the place. It's clean and nice. We are getting everything that we need."

"We went to see Autumn Lake Healthcare at Cherry Lane, it's a nursing home in Laurel. It was a very big facility so they had 300 people with different levels of care. They have medical personnel on-site, doctors and nurses, who visit the patients on a regular basis. They take temperatures, and blood pressure daily, sometimes even multiple times a day. They do medication supervision so that each person gets the proper amount of medication. They have nurses who change the bed and change the client's clothes. They do a lot more for the clients. The food is given on a regular basis at 8:00 am, 12:00 noon, and 5:00 pm. It's well-run. They have a good recreation program Monday through Friday. The facility is clean too. They also take the clients to different places."
