We found the staff generally responsive and caring. Requests for medicine, blankets And transportation were met in a timely manner. Staff is friendly and have a positive attitude. The nurses are working all the time. Housekeeping is also busy. It is not a new facility so furnishings may appear dated. Care and recovery for the patient are the goal, not plush curtains. Family visits are encouraged and should be done as often as possible.

My mother was in short term rehab for nearly 2 weeks during this pandemic, so family was unable to enter the facility. On a Saturday, her condition suddenly changed with slurred speech, extreme weakness, fatigue, nausea and confusion. After multiple calls requesting that her doctor be notified, the nurse kept telling me her vital signs were fine. On Sunday, her condition was no better and the nursing staff refused to contact the doctor or send her to the hospital after many phone calls pleading. My mother's doctor came in early Monday morning and immediately said, "Get her to the hospital now!" Unfortunately, my mother was in rapid rate atrial fine and congestive heart failure. Her heart is damaged and she has a more limited lifestyle. The outcome may have been better if she received medical care promptly, not 48 hours later.

My Mother went to Larkin Chase after she broke her leg. She had been there previously after knee replacements and it was really nice. But. This time, it was beyond belief. Her first 24 hours there, she was left in her urine becsuse the nurse would not check on her. I teported this to the head of nursing. The food was bad. I went in one day and the bathroom smelled terrible. I could go on how bad her experience was, but I would be here all night. There were some good people there, but for the most part, it was horrible Beautiful landscaping on the outside. Poor patient service on the inside. I would NOT recommend this place to my worst enemy.

My husband was in Larkin Chase for almost a year. The social worker arranged for me a hospital bed and wheelchair, but as far as care is concerned, it was not good. My husband is diabetic, and he stumped his toe. My son went there, saw it, and asked what was wrong with his foot, and he saw that the sock was wet. The bone was showing, and they had to take the toe off. I will not recommend it to anybody. Some of the staff was good. The apartments were terrible, and the furniture was mix-matched. Where he was at the first 100 days, it was pretty good. They put him in long term care; that was it. He wouldn’t eat the food, so he lost 50lbs. They had him on puree, the food was terrible, and that’s the reason I brought him home. They have a room that they look at TV most of the time, and they have physical therapy.

This place doesn't deserve any stars, but apparently I have to give them at least one. The staff running this joint in the "business office" are completely unorganized, inefficient, and have very little tact. Absolutely worthless. They have requested financial information and have been provided with the requested materials EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. and promptly, I might add. The last time they asked for anything other than "rent" was in June and they got it. And yet, because they lost or misplaced all the paperwork they were handed in June, they claim we've been responsive to their requests and, at some point and without our knowledge, they began proceedings for guardianship over my mother. They then presented this information to me over an out of nowhere phone call yesterday as if this had been in the works for quite some time, I had been a part of the process all along, and it was no big deal. They'll be hearing for our attorney very soon if they haven't already. And forget about trying to get any information from them because it'll take a good 6 months and countless requests for you to get anywhere. It took over 6 months for them to send us a comprehensive bill of what was owed to the facility and another 10 months for them to get a mailing address right after a million phone calls and in-house meetings. I was willing to give them a pass on this since the facility was bought by another company and obviously there are going to be growing pains, but not after the guardianship garbage that arose yesterday. Again, WORTHLESS. Now I have to say that they have a handful of caregiving staff who are absolutely wonderful. A handful and a handful only.

I chose Larkin Chase Care and Rehabilitation Center for my sister because it was close to home; I could also keep an eye on her. It was easily accessible to and from. The staff were helpful but there were times when they were not helpful. The nurses were good. My sister shared a room with another lady, and the room could be cleaner. Everyday they had activities like painting, bingo, games on Friday nights and people coming to visit. I would recommend this place to others but I would tell them to keep a watch on their relatives and not forget them.
