"I like The Belnor Senior Residences very much. I like the amenities, the property highlights, and even the units. The kitchen was open and spacious. I like the floor plan, but they don't have enough closet space. The other features as far as the property is concerned, the laundry space and the fact that they have a community garden and greenhouse, I liked everything about it, even the reserved parking for the residents to make sure that we have enough parking. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. The tour was very thorough. My questions were answered because there were just two features that I was interested in: the kitchen and the closets. You have to prepare your own meals."

"I visited the independent living community of Visionary Square in Washington. I like that they had a shopping center right there for everything you wanted. They have grocery stores and some carry-outs. It's also near the subway station. My bank is right there, too. I can look out my window and see it along with the grocery store and the carry-out place, so it has things close by that would have been perfect for me. I can go out and walk right to each one of them with no problem, but I also have a car, and I don't want anything to happen to my car in the middle of the night because things happen in DC. I went inside, and it was small, but it was nice. It was also clean, so it was okay. I could have lived there. The only thing that turned me off was the parking. They provide parking spaces, but the few spots get filled up. I get off work at 1 in the morning, so coming home that late, everybody's already home. That means I'm not going to get a good parking space, so it was not good for me. The people were a little rude at the rental office. They were doing something else, and I kind of caught them off guard because I got there early. The person there told the maintenance guy to take me up and give me a tour of the apartment. The person who gave the tour was really polite and was very helpful. He stopped doing what he was doing because he was asked to take me up there for the tour. The apartment was small, but it was livable, and I could have managed with it. There was also no trash lying around. They just need to improve the parking. I'm looking for a building where I can park in a garage. Unfortunately, they don't offer that."

"I toured Sunrise of Severna Park. They offer everything and they have buildings; one is for assisted living and the other one is for independent living. They're separated and they're lovely buildings. They have four sizes of rooms on both. The common areas are varied, and they are very clean. There is staff always available around when the clients are there. Everybody seems to be very pleasant and there doesn't seem to be any animosity of any sort. They have outside areas for both independent and assisted. The memory care is all enclosed so they can't wander off in the street or the woods, which I found very nice. They have seating, they can sit out there and it's a very nice area for them to walk around and experience outside. I talked to the ladies that were on the independent living side and they love the area. They've become very friendly. They have all kinds of workshops and special activities that they can participate in, and they seem to be very happy there. In the assisted living side, it was hard to talk to them because most of them are memory care patients, but they seem well taken care of. Their clothes were clean, and they had people that were always around them and assisting them in walking. Safety seems to be a major issue that they are aware of, and they ensure that the patient is safe. Each apartment has their own little kitchen and refrigerator. They are small in size, but they accomplished the mission. They could have a bed, a chair, walkers, and their oxygen tanks. They have a tiny table that sits two. The bathrooms are very safe, they have bars up in there and raised toilet seats. It's very safe for them to roll their walkers in there and they can go into the shower. They have a common area, like a living area with safe chairs to sit in, the sun shining, and they get to meet the others. So, it's very nice. The hallways are wide and safe. The dining areas are like being at home, with nice tables, and chairs. They look like they are in a fancy hotel, and they get to sit in a very nice environment. The tour experience was very nice. The person who took me around, Beth, was very knowledgeable and was well-known by the staff and the patients. She talked to everybody. She went by, and they felt comfortable with her."

"I love everything about Victory Crossing Senior Apartments. It was immaculate. I love the resources available, too. The apartments were large, and I love the fact that each apartment had a washer and dryer. I went with a friend who lived there; she explored it with me. They have a bus that takes you to the shopping center. They provide weekly activities in-house and some field trips. They had a party room and an area where you could meet privately with an insurance agent or someone you didn't want to come up in your apartment. Even though I'm not there yet, I would love to be selected. They don't cook for you, but they provide an area where you can have a party and provide food for your guests if that's what you desire. I've got my heart set on that."

"I toured Golden Rule Plaza. It's located downtown, and I didn't want to be in that area. It has a normal-sized room, and the grounds were OK, but there wasn't a lot of room. The staff was OK. I didn't have any issues. They were very courteous. The dining area was of a normal size. More than anything else, I wasn't satisfied with the location."

"This place is by far the best in Anna Arundel County. Around the clock care, a knowledgeable owner, and great meals. My aunts did respite care here and we ended up keeping her here. The owner and his staff went above and beyond to care for her until she passed. My family and I will be forever grateful for the care my aunt received. My aunt was bed bound ; the team frequently made sure she was turned and had creams applied. Her label drastically improved and she did well up until her passing, which she did at-home hospice care there. Thank you so much Utopia and Mr. Williams"

"Wilshire Estates Gracious Retirement Living was a very nice community. The one that interviewed me was very helpful, very kind, and answered all my questions. The rooms were very nice. Everything's in there. If I want to do my own cooking, I can, but they have prepared food. They provide some activities. They do some sort of painting and some ceramic activities if they want to do it themselves. I didn't meet any other staff except the receptionist and the one who's in charge of showing the community."

"Chevy Chase House was very good, but they didn't do any skilled nursing activity at all. The living atmosphere was very good, and it's a very nice building. They had a fitness center where they could do physical therapy, a nice dining room, a lot of community areas for people to sit, and organized activities. It's in the city so you can walk in the neighborhood, and they had shuttle services. It was just expensive. The sales staff was very helpful, very friendly, very knowledgeable, and very good. They had a cafeteria and the dining room was very nice. It was a very nice facility, very clean, and there's lot of good space for people. I would be very comfortable if my brother were living there."

"I liked it a lot and if they're still in business in a couple of years, I think that's where I would end up. The lady who gave the tour was lovely. They had everything anybody could ever want and they all seemed in good shape. Everything seemed lovely. I saw the gym, the swimming pool, and the exercise facilities. I saw the rooms where they had functions, the card room, and the library. I pretty much saw everything."

"I toured Modena Reserve at Kensington. It was beautiful. It was open and light. I liked the restaurant set up for the dining. It was very pleasant. They had a lot of activities, and the rooms were nice. Everything was great. The staff was wonderful, very pleasant, and very helpful. They had a lot of lectures.
