This facility is a big mistake for anyone to go to. They don't provide the proper medication, They let you lie in your crap for 12 hours at a time. Patients behind the curtains are ignored, the staff say they will return and never do. If you are a needy person they avoid

Beware of this place it was a terrible experience. My sister was admitted due to rehabilitation from a car accident. I made the decision for her to go there due to false rating that I read. The staff ignore the patients to the point that my sister had to be readmitted to hospital from neglect. she spent an additional 7 days in John's Hopkins and had to endure 3 surgery to get rid of infection. The place is dirty the equipment is old and not functional. The bed didn't work for 2 days my sister had to stay in a sitting position until maintenance could fix it. I would not put my dog in that place.

My mom has been at Marley Neck for over 16 years with Dementia. She has needed full care her entire stay. It's not a fancy place but my mom has been treated like I would've cared for her if I could have. Some of the staff has been there since her admit and they made sure to help her participate in whatever she could. Before covid I would have lunch with my mom but I had no worries when I couldn't see her for a while. We face timed to keep in touch. It's definitely a testament to the great care my mom has received for her 16+ years here.

This facility is horrible. My mother was left in a room alone. The curtain stayed drawn, the door stayed closed, they put her food across the room where she couldn't get to it. And the call button stayed on the floor! My family voiced our concerns but nothing changed. She was there 2 weeks and went from 111 pounds to 94. The staff doesn't speak English so don't bother asking questions. DO NOT PUT YOUR LOVED ONE HERE. IT IS A HELLISH PLACE.

. I have been told that they change her daily and give her baths. I’ve also been told that she is changed every night into pajamas. I have yet to wash ANY PAJAMAS. Additionally, I’ve only seen a few articles of clothing and I packed her at least 12 days’ worth of clothing for her to wear. I’ve only seen 3 pair of underwear-My mother was never provided a schedule for her physical therapy, occupational therapy, or speech therapy. When she asks about the schedule NO ONE IN THE FACILITY WILL GIVE HER AN ANSWER.-My mother arrived in Marley Neck Health and Rehabilitation Center still with PICC lines and IV lines in her arm. This was due to an oversight on University of Maryland Medical Center’s part. The issue here is my sister and I both asked repeatedly about the PICC line and IV line. IT TOOK 4 DAYS FOR THE LINES TO BE ADDRESSED. -My mother’s batteries on her remote stopped working. She asked for an hour for someone to change the batteries for an hour or just turn down the television. Additionally, they can not figure out how to turn off the second television in her room which disturbs her-Overall, if they did this to someone who was not of sound mind they would allow a person to waste away in their own feces. My mother is of sound mind. She can get to the bathroom with assistance, but they refuse to help her and keep her in diapers. She calls repeatedly to nurses, and yet it takes hours to help her. I can’t imagine the other patients who are not able to advocate for themselves are handling his. Are they sitting wallowing in their excrement?-Additionally, to highlight this oversight, the nurses and aids at Marley Neck Health and Rehabilitation Center lack the forthright to respond in a reasonable amount of time to my mother. Furthermore, when my sister and I request return phone calls or leave voice mail messages we rarely receive a call back. We must contact them multiple times to deal with our mother’s plight. Regardless of responding to myself or my sister, it is unacceptable that it takes HOURS to respond to my mother when she needs assistance.-The fact that my mother, who is of sound mind, must wear diapers, instead of Marley Neck Health and Rehab assisting her to the bathroom, is unnerving. She has full control over her faculties. If Marley Neck Health and Rehab would respond to her in a reasonable amount of time she would be able to reach the bathroom quickly and still retain a modicum of dignity.-Your founder and CEO Stephen Rosedale would be appalled with the lack of care given to my mother Deborah Lotman. His philosophy is “serving with pride” and “treating residents like family”. HOW IS MY MOTHER’S CARE “TREATING RESIDENTS LIKE FAMILY”? I recognize that COVID throws a wrench in everything. However, with the above complaints and observations, where can an administrator and founder defend their decisions. The first line of the Hippocratic Oath is “First do no harm” Marley Neck Health and Rehabilitation Center fails to serve their residents with the care and respect they deserve.

Do not send your loved one to this place! How in the world did it get such a high rating on medicare.gov? This place deserves negative stars. My mother was transferred there last Friday for physical therapy following a two week stay in the hospital. She was there for three and 1/2 days and received NO PHYSICAL THERAPY. In fact, she received no medical care....no vital checks....no visits from a doctor....no help going to the bathroom. She was in the ICU in the hospital due to respiratory failure from her CHF and no one checked her weight or blood pressure after her initial "check-in" when I brought her in. No one listened to her chest the WHOLE time she was in there. I tried to get her out Saturday, the morning after she was admitted there, but was told that they wouldn't discharge her because it was a weekend and no one was there to discharge her. To make things worse, the place was FILTHY. It reeked of urine and feces. The bathroom was disgusting with mold and dirty toilets and trash overflowing on the floor. The rooms were the size of a closet with TWO beds and the filthy bathroom was shared by FOUR people. Her room mate had dirty diapers laying on the floor beneath her bed. I repeat.....do not send your loved one to this facility.....they DO NOT provide medical care. My sister and I were totally disgusted.

I have a family member at marley neck health and rehab. She has received top quality care. The nurses and aids are so kind to her. They treat her like she is a part of their family. The nurses are extremely talented and knowledgeable. I have complete trust in them taking care of her. The rehab team is just and good. They make her work hard and have her on her way to get back home! The building is old and small and not as fancy as some of the newer places out there but I can understand why the government rated them 5 stars! That rating is based on the quality of care that is given, not the apperance! And that is what is MOST important in my book!

Marley Neck is the worst one. Before my wife was brought there, she had a slurred speech due to her infection in the brain. But she was communicating very well plus she was sitting up in her bed and chair. But after arriving at Marley Neck her speech has gotten worse and now she doesn't want to get out of bed. Plus the staff allowed an unauthorized person to take her out.

My mother is in Marley Neck Health & Rehab Center right now. They are taking good care of her. They have shared rooms, and there are two beds per room. They have all kinds of activities like bingo and music. It is secure.
