"My mom stayed in Autumn Lake Healthcare at Long Green, and this was much nicer. The biggest issue that they had was their call system when buzzing for help. That was a big issue when trying to get somebody staffed, and they were also running short of staff. The staff, food, and therapy were good. The building was very nice, and the parking was good. You had to be buzzed in, and there was always someone at the door to let you in. The facility was always clean when we were there. They had activities, but my mom didn't want to participate. I didn't see them post it. They have a nice community room. The atmosphere was very pleasant, and if I had an issue, concern, or complaint, I could take it to the heads, and they would address it. Then, they will follow up to make sure things have gotten better."

"I would first like to start out by saying how wonderful autumn lake at homewood is. The g.n.a's are absolutely awesome for the most part. The nurses are great. They do everything they can to make sure you get your medicine on time. The activities department is great. Admissions are wonderful. And I must say I have never been to a place where the administer who is mr.justin is so hands on and is so caring. He has an open door policy and I know this cause I have been to his office a many of times. So much to where he may change that policy. Lol. But for fear he is a great person who really cares about his patients. If I ever come back I hope it's here. And to my mom Mrs nakita thank you very much for everything you have done. You are truly the greatest and I thank you from the bottom of my heart."

"A close friend placed her elderly grandparents into Roland Park Place about a year ago. I grew up with her so I knew the grandparents well and accompanied her to a visit at 1 point. I thought it was great. They certainly seemed happy. They gave us a quick tour and showed us all the different activities and amenities that are offered. Some of the women, including my friend's grandparent, is involved in weekly quilting which she very much enjoys. They have a "Men's Club" which involves some of the men visiting places such as the Cal Ripken Museum. They also said they've taken a bus tour to Washington DC. On site they have bingo, movies, exercise classes, French classes, music classes and much more. As church goers, they're happy with the bible classes as well. To me, it seemed more like a resort rather than an elderly assisted living facility. It was very pleasant. I am pleased that they're being well taken care of. "

"I've been to Powerback Rehabilitation before. I like the way they treat the patients. The staff was nice and very good. They make the residents feel more comfortable. They're very accommodating. The food is good. If you don't like what's on the menu for that particular day, they have another menu where you can choose from. "

"Gilcrest is a wonderful facility, from the visitor accommodations including complimentary snack bar, luscious gardens and contemplation paths, and cozy, home-like environment, to the professional, respectful care given to all residents. There is even a non-denominational chapel available if one needs to pray. Admittedly, visiting my family member was not easy she was terminally ill and it was emotionally upsetting to see that she was unable to move on her own and feed herself. The staff at Gilcrest, however, made sure that they were available if I needed their assistance with grief counseling and always made me feel at home in the facility. The level of care given to my family member was superb. She was treated with dignity and respect at all times during her stay. I highly recommend this facility to anyone who needs help caring for a loved one in need of nursing, hospice, or rehabilitative care. "

"I visited The Keswick. Everything seemed pretty nice. Their rooms seemed nice. Their dining area was nice, but it wasn't big. Regarding activities, I'd seen them having a luau that day. "

"The rooms at ManorCare Health Services – Ruxton were excellent. The nursing assistants were very friendly. The rooms are wonderful. "

"My grandmother was at King David Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. The night shift and weekend shift where the nursing care was wasn't the greatest. There were many times when she was left all night wet, not changed, and not cared for. She was left on the floor many times while she was there, even mistreated by one staff member that I particularly reported. She was mishandled in the bed and yelled at by one of the employees, so I reported that. I guess it was resolved, but during the day the staff was great. They were more attentive to her needs and more caring. It was a different atmosphere, so she ended up doing PT and OT. That part of the staff was great, but I just had a really hard time with the nursing staff on the night shift and the weekend. The facility was OK. It was outdated. The first level of the facility was more updated, and more kept up or clean as far as cleanliness, than the bottom half where she was placed. She did participate in the recreational activities. For the value, they do the bare minimum. It's worth it. They're not going above and beyond. The food was horrible, there was no taste and no seasoning. I know she was getting a pureed diet because of her swallowing issue or whatever, but it was horrible."

"My mother is in FutureCare - Lochearn. It's a nice community. They take care of her pretty well. Some of the staff are OK. The food looks pretty good. It's a great big building. It was a cathedral some years ago. The atmosphere is OK. She doesn't eat in the dining area. She eats in her room. They bring her her food. The courtyard has some benches to sit on. She has another lady in her room. It's not that big. It's enough for two beds and it has a curtain to separate the beds, and there's a bathroom in there."

"My mother-in-law has been in Multi-Medical Center. It's an average to good nursing care center. They provided adequate care. They gave her rehabilitative care correctly. They were clean. They kept their staff, and there were people there day and night. "

"Pickersgill was a very good, small community. I was looking at the assisted living, and they seemed to be very attentive and do a fine job of keeping the residents active. They had movies and other entertainment and crafts. "

"My mom lived in Envoy of Pikesville. I've learned that you get what you pay for. Envoy of Pikesville is more of a recovery center than some place that you would leave a person for an extended period of time. They had a poorly managed staff. They changed hands three times since 2015. The place often smelled. Oftentimes someone defecated or urinated on the floor, and it was left there for way longer than it should have been. The people were neglected quite often too. Many times would walk down the hall and the residents would be screaming for help. The dining set-up was nice. The atmosphere was acceptable. I've eaten with my mother there a couple of times and the food was acceptable. They catered to specific needs. The activities were minimal. They tried, but they were not enough."

"We've been very pleased with how things have gone with Presbyterian Home of Maryland so far! It's a beautiful community, and the staff are all incredibly friendly and caring. In particular the Director of Nursing and the Marketing Director, were both incredibly helpful and always available. The staff here do a great job working with Alzheimer's and dementia patients, and they've really helped my loved one do a complete 180. "

"I was looking for a facility that was similar to what my mother was living in in another state as I was in the process of moving her back to Maryland so that she could be closer to me. When I met the staff at Blakehurst and then toured the facility, I knew this was the place for her. I had visited over 15 different facilities within a 20 mile radius of where I live in Pikesville and this was head and shoulders above many of them. I truly appreciated the staff, facility and what appeared to be very happy people there. After four years I can say the staff is super, they pay attention to the needs and the habits of the residents, they work hard to keep them busy & happy and the management is dedicated to making the residents lives fulfilling. This is a great place to live for seniors who want to continue to interact with others but still want a little "independence and privacy". "
