My mother was at Autumn Lake Healthcare at Parkville. It was well maintained, and it was pretty close to where I was, so those were the two best things I liked about it. I had a couple of unpleasant encounters with one of the young ladies there. She was supposed to be the head nurse. I didn't particularly care for the staff that much. Some staff members were nice and okay, but for the things that I had to endure with the staff, I would probably rate them below. I didn't eat any of the food, but according to my mother, the food was well below average. The place itself was pretty nice. It was well-maintained. But I saw mice running around there in my mother's room. From what I understand, every day there was some type of event going on there. They had bingo, and they had other events. There was a calendar posted. One of the individuals who gave me a tour of the place pointed out the activities calendar. I wouldn't rate them that high. The best thing about the facility was the building and the layout. The layout was pretty nice but other than that, the staff and the food, no. The care was okay. But I had to say some things to them, but my mother pretty much was looked after. I didn't think there was an issue with them looking after her. Dealing with the staff was a problem for me and I didn't particularly care for the most part. When I would ask questions, it would come across as if I was bothering them, and sometimes they didn't want to answer my questions. That was the reason why I got into it with some of the people over there because I was asking questions and they didn't want to answer my questions. I didn't particularly care for it.
