"The Charlestown campus is beautiful. It's a huge campus that feels more like a nice neighborhood when you're driving through it. I spent time in one of the main meeting areas. The lobby area of this building was very nice, on par with a hotel. A staff member was also at the front desk to help people looking for a particular room. On a few occasions, I visited the resident at her apartment at Charlestown (we remained in touch after the project ended). It was a very nice one-bedroom apartment and she was even allowed to have a dog. Every staff member that I interacted with at Charlestown was pleasant and friendly. "

"Overall, my experience with this facility was quite pleasant. My aunt was treated with respect and cared for very well, and we never heard a complaint from her. She had the same room for several years, always made bright with flowers and open windows. The staff would always recognize us and welcome us, and my aunt loved her caretakers. I remember they had lots of movies running in the common area, which my aunt loved to sit in on most of the day. Most of the residents were friendly, as well, but many had memory problems. The staff had to have extra patience to deal with everyone, since oftentimes the residents needed to be reminded of nearly every single everyday activity they needed to do. One of my few complaints was that it was quite far from where I live, so it was generally difficult to get out to see my aunt without planning it a few weeks in advance. "

"I was immediately impressed with North Oaks Retirement Community. They offer many options for residents from almost independent to constant supervision. The community provides a number of "apartments" where couples can live that offer the conveniences of apartment living with the full care of North Oaks and amenities attached. The grounds were clean and staff was friendly. The community has private dining facilities where residents can invite their families to have a large meal with cooking done by the dining staff. When my grandmother had a stroke she was moved into the area where residents are under almost constant supervision by nurses and staff. I was impressed by the level of care available to my family members. Her rehabilitation was progressing very well until the time of her death. My grandfather who still lives there has found comfort in the number of other residents with which he has become friends. He enjoys the activities and trips available to residents and has even met a girlfriend of sorts. Overall I am impressed with North Oaks and I am glad my grandfather has found a community that suits his needs. "

"I chose Mercy Ridge Retirement Community for many reasons, one of which it was highly recommended and I was also close to my sister-in-law. They have good food. The staff is nice to everyone, they accommodated you in any way they can, prompt and very courteous. I would recommend this retirement community to other people. "

"The grounds are absolutely beautiful at Glen Meadows. The people there are very friendly. They really made my sister and mom feel very much at home and welcome. They kind of live independently but they can get care if they needed. They have a dishwasher and a full kitchen. They have activities and planned outside tours as well. It is very clean. One of my coworkers recommended it to me and I have recommended it to another coworker. "

"My mom moved into Maryland Masonic Homes. The rooms were very nice, very well-kept up, very pretty, and there’s a lot of room in them. The staff is extremely caring, constantly calling, checking, and letting me know what’s going on. Everything there is just outstanding. They offer everything from little clubs to meetings, to selling things, to ceramic. They have music every other day for the residents to listen to. The food is excellent, it’s like going to a restaurant. I would recommend it to anybody and everybody."

"Beautiful Facility. Beautiful Dinning area. Beautiful apartments. Really nice staff. Great recreational activities and theraputic activities. The residents at Broadmead can stay as busy as they like. I recomend stopping in anonymously and peak around. You may be satisfied. Also take into account that this area is a more wealthy area of Baltimore County. "

"I moved to Vantage Point from NY to be near my son and his family. I toured several independent living facilities in the area and chose Vantage for several reasons. Some are: Friendly, helpful staff Large airy apartments The highrise doesn't require me to go outside for activities or meals. My pets were welcomed I was able to chose my apartment updates The residents are diverse and welcoming. I have been her almost 2 years and have found that Vantage is well-run, has excellent activities and I am glad I am here."

"I had a great visit at Fair Haven. They had an excellent staff, and some of the facilities they had available, like the cafeteria and the library, were really good. I saw people eating while I was there, and the meals looked appetizing. Everything about them was great, but it's just out of my price range."

"Brooke Grove was recommended by someone who had her husband there. I am very satisfied with this facility for my husband, and I certainly don’t want to take any chances. It's a family-oriented place, and you feel that you are not in an institution. The rooms are quite large. They are rated highly, and so I think they are pretty good. "

"Ginger Cove was lovely. Actually I have a lot of friends that are residents there. It is a huge building. They have everything, but you have to buy the condo. They have the extended care all the way up to nursing home care. I had lunch there with friends, and it was very good. The dining area looked lovely too. "

"We were invited to stay two nights in Riderwood. There was something in the atmosphere probably the flameproof chemical that they used in the carpeting that I was allergic to and I developed eye irritation which took two days after we went home to clear up. I noticed that not only in the apartment but my allergy became worse in the dining room. Their apartments and kitchens were quite nice though and their activity program with a lot of opportunities for classes and intellectual stimulation appealed to us. But I just couldn't live there so we had to ask for our deposit back. "

"We visited Carroll Lutheran Village three times. The reason we visited so much was because first they would give you a tour of the whole complex and a lunch. The second time we went, they had a real estate sales person available, and they told us how to prepare your house for sale, what the houses were selling for in the neighborhood, and they would give you a tip. The third time we visited was about finances, and they had a financial consultant there. The place is gorgeous. They had houses that you could buy, they had apartments, they had assisted living, and they had a hospital. The staff that we met was very congenial, and any question that you asked, they answered it spot on. As for the rooms, they had an older section and they had a newer section. My husband hated the older section. It was too dark and dreary. However, they had new apartment building that was gorgeous. The layout was beautiful, and you would just love living in the houses. The sanitation was excellent. The food was very good. They had a regular dining room, and they had a pub and grill. We ate in the pub and grill once, and we also ate in the dining room. They served a meal in the dining room for us to look at the place, and that was exceptional. However, the pub and grill food was just as good. "

"My mom is living in an assisted living facility called Zimmerman's. It is run by the Lutheran Church. She has received excellent care there. The staff really knows her , me and my brother and seem to be genuine concerned about her welfare. It is on eof the few places that I don't worry about her. I know if there is a problem, they will notify me right away. "
