"This is a classic Baltimore home with high ceilings, stained glass and oak molding. The rooms are spacious and warm. The bedrooms are mostly semi private but very spacious. The staff is very friending and shows care and personal interest for the residents and they encourage activities. There is a sunroom and a out door deck that is inviting for activities and socializing. Everyone seems to respect each.There's always a delicious aroma of home cooking from the kitchen. I like the attentive care given to my friend. "

"We went to Sunrise of Pikesville yesterday. Sunrise is a very, very nice place. It's a huge complex, and it was very clean. We loved everything about it except for there was an elderly lady sitting there when we came. She needed some attention, but she was sitting right where you came in. She said, "Somebody help me, is Mikey here today?" It was distressing, and it was sad. For the tour, we had Bianca. She was really great and down to earth. She was very informative. She gave us a lot of information that we should have gotten from the facility that has my aunt now. She was phenomenal. Those rooms were huge. They come with a little mini kitchen minus cooking accessories. The kitchens were large enough that you can probably put a table in there that can at least seat four to six people. There was lots of sitting room and lots of sun. It wasn't dark. It's got lots of sun in there and clear space. They had really large bathrooms. Some of the efficiencies they put two people in. They're really large enough for two people. They use a bathroom in between, but they were huge sunny rooms. They were ideal for people with larger families that would come and visit. At Sunrise, they had everything there. They have their physical therapists. They have nail salons, hair salons, laundry, and stuff like that."

"We really liked Woodholme Gardens. It was located in a really nice wooded type area. The accommodations were beautiful, and their sizes vary. They all had refrigerators and all the bathrooms were spacious. They had rooms where they could maybe just have a hospital bed or a twin bed, but most rooms had full size beds. They were very friendly from the time we walked in the door. The manager was the one that gave us the tour. They served us lunch and they showed us the different rooms and common areas. They had a nice garden area where people could go out and sit. They had a salon and a barbershop. They had several nice private areas where the family could come and visit. The residents seemed very comfortable sitting and talking amongst themselves, and some talking with the staff. In the elevators they had a full listing of what activities would be going on daily for the month. They had activities where they took the residents out."

They had everything that we needed. If we were to ever really consider doing it again, it would definitely be on the top of the list."

"I'm on a waiting list for the Waterfalls of Catonsville. They're redoing a wing of the building. They were very welcoming and I like that it's more of a home feel of an environment. That's what a place where my mom used to live was like. It's a smaller facility and they only have a limited number of residents, so they can get more care. There were always people with the residents. Even if they were in their bedroom or if they were in the common areas, there was always someone with them. The facility was nice and clean and all the people were clean. The staff was very nice and very welcoming. The room was more like a small bedroom with a bed and a dresser. The room wasn't as large, but the common spaces were large. They were doing art when I was there. They had a courtyard and they do activities in the dining room when it's not dining time. It's more like a multipurpose room. It used to be an old mansion that they've turned into housing. There are no long walks. They back up to parks, so they can walk in the park. They back up to a wooded area. They had their own chef."

"We toured Care Transitions. The nurse, I think his name was Ryan. He was nice. Everything was clear like all her needs would be met. He was able to answer all of our questions. The room was nice. She was looking into a private room. It's a good space, has a good-sized bathroom, and has a big TV. Things were generally clean. It is an old Baltimore home, so there are still stairs to get in and then there are stairs on the upper levels. So, if she wasn't going to be in the private room, she couldn't stay there because she couldn't do the stairs. The atmosphere was nice and welcoming."

"I had a very good visit. The staff was great. They were friendly and informative. They even gave me snacks and they were very good. The rooms and the dining area were both very nice. "

"I visited Ideal Comfort Assisted Living and toured for assisted living. It's not a good facility. I would never take my father there. The rooms are too small, and there's no privacy. It's not set up for level 3 care, so my father wouldn't have 24-hour coverage. It's not handicap accessible, and the neighborhood is not that great as well, so it just wouldn't be a good fit for him. The person who gave the tour was nice enough. That wasn't the issue; the person was okay. The only suggestion I will make is that I think they need to break down the number of people who are in there, I think they need more privacy and more staff. I think they are understaffed if they're going to offer level 3 care."
