"We looked at HeartLands Village at Ellicott City. It offered many active things that my mother-in-law said she wasn’t going to use, like the pool and gardening. She wasn’t able to do independent living. It was a very lovely facility with a cheerful atmosphere and very nice rooms. The staff seemed very nice. "

"I liked the location of The Red Door Assisted Living. It was very close to my house. The meals are included and my father would have had his own room. They provide activities and transportation. The staff was very nice and very thorough. It's a tough decision to make and the lady there helped us through that process pretty nicely, even though we didn't end up going there. The community was a little outdated. It's a little small, but that didn't bother me (I think it probably would bother some people). I thought a smaller place was better. The other good thing about their place is they didn't have any stairs. It was all on one level. So, it would have been easy for my father to get around."

"We went to look at Lighthouse Senior Living in Ellicott City. The facility had all of the services we were looking for. It had the advantage of being very close to where we live. It's within walking distance, so that was attractive as well. The staff members there were very accommodating. We were impressed with the cleanliness, the facilities, and the staff that we spoke with. We visited a one-bedroom apartment as well as a suite. There were three different-sized rooms available to visit. The other thing we liked was that the facility provided the furniture. There were daily activities available to the residents. In addition to the three meals, there were snacks available as well. They have activities that address various interests. The residents have the option of participating or not, and there are many activities available. We were told that we could visit at any time. We could just give them a call and let them know we're on our way. We had 24-hour access if we needed to see our relatives, so that was very encouraging as well. The staff had been there for long periods of time, so their expertise and experiences are there in the facility."

"This facility is exceptionall! The staff works VERY close with us to ensure mom's care needs are handled. She wasn't very active, and veryy reluctant to transition into a facility. Now she's become a social butterfly! The place is beautiful, bright and ALWAYS CLEAN! Activities are always coordinated for Mom. The Nurses and therapist are very sweet. After 2 years, I'm happy to say we've made the right choice! "

"I went to Mabel's House Assisted Living. I like the way it was set up. They had a private room where you share. It was more home-like. It's very clean. They had enough people there to assist the seniors. I liked it a lot. It was very nice. The staff was excellent. The facility was excellent. It was clean. It was nice and cool. It had a bar and a kitchen, like the island. It had enough bathrooms for everyone. It was a house. I was surprised. They had one person do the washing and cleaning. They had enough employees. It was very nice."

"I must say Waterfalls is a wonderful memory care facility. The management and staff go above and beyond to make your loved one feel as comfortable as possible. The rooms are always kept nice, the residents are clean, the food is delicious and the facility is beautiful inside and out!"

"A good friend of mine has her mother here and on her behalf I want to rave about this facility! My friend of 30 years had to put her mother in an Assisted Living and it was a difficult process for her. She had worked with Lisa and thanks to Lisa's kindness, patience and knowledge, she was about to help my friend during a difficult time. My friend was so appreciative of the time and energy Lisa put in with her. I highly recommend this facility, not only for the kindness of the workers, but the cheerful feeling you get when you enter the building! The nurses are great and trained properly when dealing with the elderly. I also like seeing people out for activities in the lobby. It's a good feeling walking into the building and seeing happy faces. "

"Serenity Garden Manor was very nice. Everything was very clean. The people were professional and looked like they took such good care of their residents. They had a nice dining area and a little recreation room with a TV. The facility was on two floors, so they had stairs, but they had a chair lift to come down. The rooms were nice as well."
