The owner, his family and all of the folks who work there are kind and caring and do anything they can to help our Dad. If you are searching for an assisted living home, check it out! "The Evergreens at Columbia Town Center was really beautiful. It was just too expensive for me. They had beautiful grounds, a swimming pool, a garden, an exercise room, and a computer room. They had one and two-bedroom apartments. They had garage parking. The staff was nice and very helpful. Some of the apartments had balconies. It looks like it's a new facility. It is close to Columbia Mall. They have a washer and dryer in the unit."

"I've visited Elternhaus Assisted Living, they're also licensed for memory care because they keep it locked up. It's a bit different than the other place I toured because they accept anybody who wants to live there, and it's faith-based. The rooms were adequate and nice, they had private rooms. The way it was built is sort of in a great big square, and the rooms are all around that square, and there's like a courtyard in the middle. So everyone has views of the outside from their rooms, which is very nice. We didn't see any in action, but they mentioned that they regularly do activities with them. It seems they are vegetarian cooking only. It's a somewhat older facility but everyone there is very caring, it's a beautiful environment and they can go out for walks. It's a lovely area. The staff who gave me the sales pitch was very knowledgeable and friendly, and he knew all of the residents by name."

Our mission is to provide our residents with the highest level of care, unique to each individual's needs. To ensure the needs of our residents we have an on-call nurse practitioner. Our staff participate in monthly training given by the nurse practitioner to ensure resident comfort and care. In addition to our janitorial staff, Open Hand's uses germicidal lamps to sterilize our facility, to combat germs. The meals at Open Hand's are made in-house to perfection, with nutrition in mind. "I toured Angel Core Home of Care at Parkmont and looked at their assisted living. I was looking for respite care for my father, and my tour was great. The care provider gave me a tour of the place and showed me the lower floor and the upper level. My father would be on the lower level because he's a level 3. The other residents there were rather high functioning, a little higher than my father. He has dementia, but he could always blend in with them, and he wouldn't be a problem once they had him situated. I thought the house was a nice place. It has a nice yard, a nice front porch where they would take folks to have some outside time, and it was decent. If they had availability for my father, then I would have chosen that. I think they would accept a minimum of two weeks for respite care stays, and I believe they have 5 residents. The place looked fine, kept up well, and was up to par. It looked like it met all the codes, from what I could see. It was someplace that I would choose for a loved one to be."

"I toured Merritt Station Apartments. It was lovely. It was clean and friendly. The floor plan was excellent and perfect for my needs. They have a gym. There's a shopping mall right across the street from it, so that's pretty good. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. It's a new building."

"Utopia Caring Assisted Living is a well manicured, clean, safe home environment for your love ones. The owner is very helpful and caring. He is focused on meeting clients needs and establishing an effective plan for each patient. The caregivers and medical team go beyond the call of duty to address all of the clients needs. They are proactive, great communicators and try to meet each client where they are and help maintain their livelihood. This assisted living has good meal options that it’s specific to each person dietary and health management needs. The home has the safe at home feeling and not like an assistant living placement. This has helped my father. My father was in poor health with hospitalizations. My father was placed in home in June of 2023 . With the excellent care with the caregivers and home care he is improving with a diabetic wound and overall doing a little better. My father actually calls it home with joy. Thanks Utopia Care. "I toured Victory Haven Senior Apartments and it's a very nice place. It's very clean and nice. The staff was very courteous and had the information that I needed. They have an exercise room and an activity room. It was nice. I did not see the bedroom because they didn't have any empty apartments for me to see. They have a garden and a dining area. The place is near some shopping centers, and I think a restaurant is around there, too."

"I got to visit Wilshire Estates Gracious Retirement Living. It was new, the lady I talked to was very nice and the place had a lot of things going on. They had new apartments, a good floor plan, good parking, and an easy-to-find location. They also had good choices that my friend could make about what he wanted, like if he wanted to fix his own meals he can, and if he didn't want to, he didn't have to. The staff we spoke to were caring and they took a lot of time with us. They did not know if we were going to be living there or not, and they just spent a lot of time answering questions and showing us around the place. They had more than he needs. They had lots of rooms, lots of games, and lots of exercises, so they had all that my friend would need. The facilities looked nice and brand-new."

"I toured Cain Commons. The place is beautiful, and the people are very nice. Just touring and talking to the neighbors and stuff like that, they're very friendly and everything. They would help you any way they can. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. If you have a problem, you come to the office, and they get on it right away. I love it. They try to accommodate in any way they can. The room I toured didn't have any handicapped railings in the bathroom, but the staff said if I was approved for the apartment, he would make sure that would be taken care of."
