"My friend has lived at Eltern Haus for 9 years. She has been one of their more difficult residents. She did not want to be there and didn’t mind saying so. Then, she had to move to another facility for a while and all I heard was, “I want to go back to Eltern Haus.” The staff is attentive and caring. The nurses are WONDERFUL! Staff has done everything they can to make my friend happy and have been very attentive to her physical needs. EH is very homey. Food is vegetarian. I would highly recommend Eltern Haus. "

"I went to look at The Hamlet at Queenstown. The facility was well-run. The staff was very courteous, friendly, and accommodating. The amenities and the facilities were very nice. If my mom only needed assisted living, it's a nice place. The kitchen was very clean. Nobody was expecting me to come, but the facility was extremely clean."

"This facility is exceptionall! The staff works VERY close with us to ensure mom's care needs are handled. She wasn't very active, and veryy reluctant to transition into a facility. Now she's become a social butterfly! The place is beautiful, bright and ALWAYS CLEAN! Activities are always coordinated for Mom. The Nurses and therapist are very sweet. After 2 years, I'm happy to say we've made the right choice! "

"My friend moved to Wilshire Estates Gracious Retirement Community. I like that it is convenient and the staff is very helpful. It offers a good meal arrangement and it's convenient for people who are somewhat mobile. It's very well laid out. It's only about three and a half years old, too, and it's accessible. It has a very nice dining room. It's a very clean and well-kept facility. I liked the staff and the fact that the meals seemed to be very nutritious. They have a very nice dining room. They have beverages available 24/7, or pretty much during the day, up until maybe 7:00 or 8:00 at night. They have a number of garden patios and you have a little deck attached to each apartment. They have a nice garden atmosphere. They offer religious services periodically, a couple of times a month, hair services/beauty salons, and stuff like that. They also have a movie theater, a library, and entertainment room. It consists of about four floors. They have an elevator to get people to and from."

"It was a nice place, but the one-bedroom apartment that I saw was not big enough for me. They had everything, and they're really nice and very convenient. The layout was nice, too. They had a list of activities and a lot of community things going on."

"We moved our mother into Adoring Adult Care as her transition from a rehabilitation center and it was the best decision we could have made. because they had everything we were looking for. The facility is spacious and upkeep is perfect. The staff is pleasant and very caring. They make sure that we are always informed on everything that’s happening. My mom loves the food and the facility offers activities for the residents as well. Overall Adoring Adult Care is a great facility and I would recommend to others. "

"The rooms are super clean. It feels like a home environment here and always smells super good. Also, I really appreciate how they worked with our budget. My dad came to this facility from another facility. Since he’s been here he has been receiving amazing care including nutritious meals. I appreciate the staff going far and beyond for him, always. They make sure he is clean and happy. Last but not least, I appreciate the medical specialists (home health, Nurse Practitioners, etc) that they work with who provide additional services he needs. "Cadence Living Olney was very nice and very clean. It was decorated nicely. I felt like they were very buttoned up, which is what you want to make sure you have for your loved ones. They gave a great tour. They had a hairdresser and I saw an outdoor garden area. They seemed to have a good ratio of staff to residents. There were plenty of activities and they had the staff to support it. The rooms looked pretty nice. The showers did not have a lift, it was straight. If someone needs to roll in, they could just roll straight in."

"I went to Edens Homes. It was a location that I wanted. I grew up near there. It was clean. My sister liked it. Everything looked fine. I met two of the staff members there, and they were very nice. It's neat but there were some abandoned homes on the plot. Nevertheless, I was given all the information that I needed, and they were very helpful in answering all my questions. I was kind of in a rush because I had a doctor's appointment, but I was able to see everything that I needed."

"Victory Crossing was a nice place. I liked it. The rooms were nice, clean, roomy, and really comfortable. I liked the design. The kitchens were nice, too. It looked like the community was kept much better than the other place we saw. I liked Victory Crossing because you have a washer and dryer in your apartment. I like the convenience of it. Also they have people who come in and and entertain, and they had a bus that takes you on trips."

"I love this place!!! After my Dad passed away I saw that my mothers dementia escalated, and I knew that it was time to take the next step.I did honor my mom's request to stay in her house with aides for about a year, but I was very much aware of the social isolation that ensued. My brother and I went on a tour around the Pikesville area. It was important that the facility be somewhat nearby as I knew that we would be the kind of sons that would want to see her almost daily. I also knew that I didn't want some big institutional type setting..I had remembered that someone once told me that generally speaking any faith-based hospital or senior living facility often has a certain compassion and kindness inherent to it. When we walked out of Tudor Heights, I said to my brother"this is the place" for mom. I didn't require that it be Kosher food based, but that turned out to be a bonus. The staff knows every resident even if they don't work that residents floor. The residents all know each other, and there are no "mile long" walks to get anywhere. I also noticed in the other places I saw that often the residents were just sitting around doing nothing. The activities directors here are non-stop, always going from one thing to the next. Sometimes I can't even get a few minutes alone with Mom !!! We are in our 4th year here, and as I still say to my brother, "best decision we ever made.""

"We chose this community for mom due to a combination of the staff and the facilities. They went above and beyond, and they went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and accepted into their community. I tried both lunch and dinner, and they both were amazing. All of mom's needs would be met there. They've got upgraded apartments and they're spacious. It's very clean, accessible, and convenient."

"I toured The Sanctuary, a Mount Jezreel Senior Housing Community, and I like it. It is really good. It is nice and large. I like the floors, the bathroom, and the shower. I like everything. They put a new microwave in there. They have a lot of outdoor space. There is a huge parking lot that goes all the way around the building. It's got a lot of wood and stuff. It's really, really nice around there. I had an interview with them, and I paid the $35 application fee, and I was supposed to be getting a call back from them. It is like a private apartment, and so I guess you buy your own groceries and cook your own food. However, I'm pretty sure if you need some food that they will look out for you. The staff member who gave the tour was very respectful and very thorough with what he showed me."
