"We moved our mother into Adoring Adult Care as her transition from a rehabilitation center and it was the best decision we could have made. because they had everything we were looking for. The facility is spacious and upkeep is perfect. The staff is pleasant and very caring. They make sure that we are always informed on everything that’s happening. My mom loves the food and the facility offers activities for the residents as well. Overall Adoring Adult Care is a great facility and I would recommend to others. "

"The tour I had of Heritage at Augsburg's independent living was good. The people I met were friendly. The person who gave the tour was a little busy that day. He had other people and a lot of appointments, but he managed to squeeze me in and showed me a couple of apartments, and they looked good. He's also willing to work with me on an anticipated move-in date if we reach that point. The tour went well. They showed me the library, gym, and arts and crafts room. I also saw the restaurant and the community center room. They even offered me a meal, which was very tasty. It was overcast that day, so I didn't pay a whole lot of attention to the outside, but the inside of the place was clean and well-kept."

"This facility is exceptionall! The staff works VERY close with us to ensure mom's care needs are handled. She wasn't very active, and veryy reluctant to transition into a facility. Now she's become a social butterfly! The place is beautiful, bright and ALWAYS CLEAN! Activities are always coordinated for Mom. The Nurses and therapist are very sweet. After 2 years, I'm happy to say we've made the right choice! "

Our mission is to provide our residents with the highest level of care, unique to each individual's needs. To ensure the needs of our residents we have an on-call nurse practitioner. Our staff participate in monthly training given by the nurse practitioner to ensure resident comfort and care. In addition to our janitorial staff, Open Hand's uses germicidal lamps to sterilize our facility, to combat germs. The meals at Open Hand's are made in-house to perfection, with nutrition in mind. For our bed-bound residents, we are under contract with doctors, nurse practitioners, and even nail techs to upkeep our residents. We also offer visits to our facility! "My husband was at Angel Core Home of Care for respite. I think he was the most difficult person that they weren't expecting. He'd never been away from me. So, there were things that he did that were not in their best interests, but I like the location and I like the people. I also like the service that they provide and most of all, I like the cost. He was in the memory care there."

"I chose to move to Atrium Village. The thing that convinced me to sign up was that the unit they were showing me was a one-bedroom den. My hobby is quilting, and this means I can take at least one of my quilting machines. I was given a tour by a very nice young man, and I was very impressed by how he conducted himself. The building's very, very clean. It was laid out in an interesting manner, and my apartment would be on the fifth floor, so it would be away from all activities on the first floor. When I stepped in, the atmosphere was welcoming. The rooms looked to be of a good size, and I liked the layout of the unit I will be occupying."

"I'm on a waiting list for the Waterfalls of Catonsville. They're redoing a wing of the building. They were very welcoming and I like that it's more of a home feel of an environment. That's what a place where my mom used to live was like. It's a smaller facility and they only have a limited number of residents, so they can get more care. There were always people with the residents. Even if they were in their bedroom or if they were in the common areas, there was always someone with them. The facility was nice and clean and all the people were clean. The staff was very nice and very welcoming. The room was more like a small bedroom with a bed and a dresser. The room wasn't as large, but the common spaces were large. They were doing art when I was there. They had a courtyard and they do activities in the dining room when it's not dining time. It's more like a multipurpose room. It used to be an old mansion that they've turned into housing. There are no long walks. They back up to parks, so they can walk in the park. They back up to a wooded area. They had their own chef."

"My tour of the independent living community of Regency Crest was good. The tour person was friendly and knowledgeable. She told me about everything they had going on. She gave me a tour of the facility and gave me a packet of what they offer. It was a much more modern place than the others I've seen, and it was clean and well-kept. The apartment layout was a little bit different, and they had carpet on the floor. They also had a studio apartment that had a balcony. The other apartments did not have it. They had a gym and a swimming pool. They also had a barbecue area outside. It was first-come, first-served. They had a water fountain set up with a pond. They also had a little gathering room where you can sit down and play cards, that type of thing."

"Heartlands at Ellicott City have 48 acres of land and it is a beautiful place. They have small bungalows, efficiency apartments and one-bedroom apartments. The bungalows are spread throughout the property. They also have a nice little patio. This community is close to my granddaughter so I can visit my two great-grandchildren, and for me, that is the best thing that I like about Heartlands. "

"Evergreens at Columbia Town Center had a swimming pool and an eating facility. The apartments were extremely nice. It had a washer and dryer in the units and a full kitchen. They offer a system where you have to check in every morning just to say "Hello. I'm up./I'm awake, I'm moving around." and I kind of like that. They had a lot of activities there and a lot of things going on. They have a food court across the street, in the Columbia Mall. I liked the place. I think each apartment has a balcony. The lady there was very, very nice and very informative. They don't have an entrance fee, which is good. You pay $3,000 or something there upfront before you move in. Everything is prorated in that first month. It was just a little out of my budget because once I did the calculation, I would have pretty much $500 left to work with and I have other bills, a car, medicines, and $500 is not going to get it. Having $500 today is like having a nickel in your hand and nothing costs a penny anymore. It was very nice, though."

"This place is by far the best in Anna Arundel County. Around the clock care, a knowledgeable owner, and great meals. My aunts did respite care here and we ended up keeping her here. The owner and his staff went above and beyond to care for her until she passed. My family and I will be forever grateful for the care my aunt received. My aunt was bed bound ; the team frequently made sure she was turned and had creams applied. Her label drastically improved and she did well up until her passing, which she did at-home hospice care there. Thank you so much Utopia and Mr. Williams"

"When I was looking for a place for my mother to move into, once I visited Elternhaus I knew my search was over. The place is just lovely and the rooms are very nice with windows and nice views. Once she moved in my thoughts were confirmed, she was thriving there. The director, caregivers and staff are very caring and communicate well with families as well. It is a loving Christian atmosphere that makes the residents comfortable. I could go on and on with positives about the place. I would highly recommend. "

"I went to look at Sunrise of Severna Park. The overall layout was good. Everything was centrally located as far as amenities and common spaces. Everything was fairly new and updated. The staff was great and helpful. They have outdoor spaces that are nicely laid out. They were on a smaller land area, but they still have adequate walking trails, little park areas, and little benches set up everywhere for just taking a break and looking at the trees. The dining area was nice. It was restaurant-style seating arrangements. All the people that I saw or ran into were very good and happy. Most of them were busy reading, playing card games, and having a good time."

"Access Care was an answer to my prayer. I am so thankful for this assistive living facility. Loretta, the owner of the home, and Rose, who works in the home, give nothing short of excellent service all around. The staff truly cares about the residents. My mother, who is 97, moved into this home March, 2020, the beginning of COVID 19. They were successful with keeping everyone free of the virus. Questions and request are answered and addressed quickly and the environment is clean and safe. The lines of communication are always open. I would absolutely recommend this facility."

"The thing I like about Wilshire Estates Gracious Retirement Living is that they seem to have a lot of activities. They have three meals a day, so they have a refrigerator. I don't think they have an oven or a stove top because you're not supposed to be cooking, and you're supposed to go down to the dining room. The staff who gave the tour was very good. The building is pretty new. They can sign up for a shuttle bus to go to the local pool, for example."

"I love everything about Victory Crossing Senior Apartments. It was immaculate. I love the resources available, too. The apartments were large, and I love the fact that each apartment had a washer and dryer. I went with a friend who lived there; she explored it with me. They have a bus that takes you to the shopping center. They provide weekly activities in-house and some field trips. They had a party room and an area where you could meet privately with an insurance agent or someone you didn't want to come up in your apartment. Even though I'm not there yet, I would love to be selected. They don't cook for you, but they provide an area where you can have a party and provide food for your guests if that's what you desire. I've got my heart set on that."

"Bedford Court had daily activities in the assisted living. The dining room was very intimate and the rooms were good. I only got to see one room, but it was big enough for an individual. It was like a studio. They do monthly meetings, in-house gatherings, and outings once a week. They take the individuals on a bus out to a restaurant in the neighborhood. They had indoor activities throughout the week every day and the aides will help them get there. The food was good, fresh, in good portions, and there's a variety of meals. The common rooms were intimate and they had the coffee bistro area that doubles as an activity room. They had a living room and a little sitting area in the center of all the wings. I like that they had multiple levels of nursing. You had the assisted living, skilled nursing, for those with higher level need of medications, and nursing home section. The nurse, the activity director and the residential coordinator were all very nice."
