"The tour I had of Heritage at Augsburg's independent living was good. The people I met were friendly. The person who gave the tour was a little busy that day. He had other people and a lot of appointments, but he managed to squeeze me in and showed me a couple of apartments, and they looked good. He's also willing to work with me on an anticipated move-in date if we reach that point. The tour went well. They showed me the library, gym, and arts and crafts room. I also saw the restaurant and the community center room. They even offered me a meal, which was very tasty. It was overcast that day, so I didn't pay a whole lot of attention to the outside, but the inside of the place was clean and well-kept."

"I toured Harmony at Glasgow. It's close to where my mother-in-law has always lived. Everybody seemed friendly, both the staff and the residents. They have the same amenities like meals, laundry, housekeeping, library, activity center, movie room, and washers and dryers if they want to. They do the laundry, but if the person wants to do their own, they can. They have large apartments compared to what I saw in some places. It's a large place, and it has 180 apartments, but I like it a little smaller than that. The staff who gave the tour was very nice, very outstanding, and helped as much as possible. The food smelled appetizing, and it looked very good. It's a brand new place, but I would call it more traditional-looking and not a modern-looking. They provide outings for the residents, though."

"There's no full kitchen and no laundry facilities inside the apartments for assisted living at Juniper Village at Newark. The staff was courteous, knowledgeable, and friendly. It was beautiful, clean, and well- organized. They had an outdoor barbecue."

"We did a tour of Brightview Avondell. They're just too expensive. We can't afford $12,000 a month. It's a beautiful place, I love it, it's very nice. We met with a nice lady. It's a beautiful place inside and out, everything you want is in there, hair salon, saltwater pool, and restaurants. We saw the unit, it's independent care. It would be $93,900 a year. I have no negativity about it other than the price. The people in there, they're eighties and nineties; there's a few seventies in there, I was told. The unit we were shown was very small. In my opinion, it's not enough room for two people. It had a bedroom, a washer-dryer, and it had a den that you can make like a second bedroom, and it had two beds. We were only shown one. We didn't have a meal, but we have seen the cafeterias. There's a beautiful lake. We saw an activity room where people can play cards and checkers, and there's a TV. They have all different kinds of activities. They're putting in more rooms, more areas in there. It's beautiful outside, they have beautiful gardens. It's just a lovely place. It's just the price that was a bigger fear, like running out of money, and we're going to be evicted; we don't have a place to go. It's beautiful, gorgeous, well-maintained, and very clean. The staff were very nice, very accommodating, and they answered all our questions."

"Brightview Perry Hall had different activities where you're meeting your neighbors. They had shuttle buses that take you to the shopping malls. You can cook in your apartment and bring in your own furnishings."

"I found out about Chapel Springs Apartments because I have a friend that lives there. The amenities are very good. They have a gym and fitness room. They have a billiard room. The seats in the lobby are very nice. They have security where you can't come in and let somebody let you in. That's one of the things that turned me on, with the security. You can't just walk into their building. Someone has to know that you're coming, lives in the building or somebody in the office knows that you're coming. Like, maybe for something that needs to be taken care of in the building, but no one can just walk in. My friend has been there for years and she had been trying to get me to come to visit her, and I finally went to see her, I think it was in January, or early February. I liked the way that you have parking. They have reserved parking places for the residents. The appliances are provided. You have a refrigerator, oven range, and microwave. So you don't need to bring any appliances of your own. You just move in with your other furniture. The staff that I talked to, two of them, and customer service-wise, were very professional, and very informational. She cooks her own meals. I know they have a room, like, if you wanted to have a family affair or something, or a celebration of some kind. I think you have access to that. Very clean. Decorative. When you walk in, you don't think you're walking into senior citizen housing. The fragrance was wonderful. It was just good. When I saw they have flowers in the hallways, it was like they were trying to make it a home for you. It's a very good substitute for it because I didn't feel like I was in a senior citizen housing apartment building. I felt like I was going to visit somebody younger than me."

"Glen Meadows' apartment was very small, which would be fine for one person, but it didn't suit us. The pricing was a little high. The staff was quite friendly and very knowledgeable. The grounds looked fine and well-manicured, and the location was nice and a little bit out in the country with trees all around it."

"Oak Crest was great. They have two-bedrooms with two bathrooms and a patio or porch. Their activities include a woodshop for my husband, bridge for me, a swimming pool, and anything else that we could ask for. "

"My brother is in Evergreen Senior Apartments. The place is truly nice. We're gonna attend a potluck luncheon. They've been very helpful to him and his neighbors have been, too, because my brother is blind. They have a pool hall, they have a dining room, they do trips, and they have a gym. It's very clean. The grounds are clean. It doesn't smell like a nursing home or an old people's home. They have a lot of activities, but he's a little leery about going out and meeting people. He had some neighbors that come over today to try to get acquainted with him, but by him being blind, he doesn't trust anybody. We try to get him acclimated into going out. If I need to sell my house, I would like to go there, too. They're nice."

"I toured Stella Maris in Lutherville-Timonium and looked at their efficiency apartments. They also had studio apartments that people could move into, and they were all nice. The price was reasonable. They gave them three meals a day and access to medical people, if you needed it. The appearance of the place was very nice. The staff was very willing to provide whatever services the residents needed. They had a hall that everybody could go to, and they take people out on bus trips if they want to."

"From my observation, I liked everything I saw in Victoria Park At North East. I didn't see anything that I wasn't pleased with. The apartments were spacious. They had everything that I would need. They were bright and very clean. The carpets were clean. For a single person living alone, it fits my needs. The staff were very nice. They have laundry facilities, mail facilities, an exercise room, and a library. They have a computer set-up and Wi-Fi service. I was pleased with the place. They have a new person in charge, and she was more than accommodating. She made an appointment with us. We sat, we talked, and we could ask questions. She was very accommodating. It was very clean with no foul odors."

"My mom was at Park View at Rosedale. It was very inviting and very clean. I don't remember ever seeing any staff though. I only saw residents, but it was nice and comfy. They had a laundromat and a beauty salon. They had a library area and a community room right off the entrance where you come in. They allowed pets, too. I saw a few people with dogs. They had different things like potluck, games, and outings. They also had frequent transportation to stores like Walmart. They sent around a newsletter stating activities for a month. The value for money was pretty good."
