My parents moved into Merion Village. It's a fantastic community, the facilities are immaculate, and the management has been extremely helpful in getting my parents situated in their apartment. Plus, even though it's independent living, there is a lot of support from other sources like the Office on Aging and the county because they come to the building and do activities with the residents, totally free. So, they have some senior activities where they can participate while still having their privacy and independence. They do have a huge kitchen, which is a community kitchen, but then it's up to the residents if they want to participate in any activity that would involve food. But in terms of them personally, they do not provide any food or any dining area for them. It's all in their apartments. The building in itself has a gym. They have a pickleball court. They have an area where they can play, like bocce ball or other things, so there's some active side to it. Once or twice a month, you get people who come in and do things like chair aerobics or drum exercises, but those come from outside sources, not from the facilities themselves. You have different people who will set up appointments to come, and the residents can participate in activities in the building. We are completely satisfied with the upkeep. The place is clean. So, they always have someone cleaning all the common areas, elevators, everything. We have no complaints whatsoever.

I toured Merion Village, and the people seemed nice. They were friendly and helpful, and the staff answered all the questions and everything I asked. I was pleased with that, and I like the place too. The rooms were nice. However, in the one bedroom, the closet was small. You have to get a two-bedroom to get some decent closet space.

Merion Village is beautiful and brand new. The staff member was great. She was wonderful. She was very helpful and knowledgeable. They have a beautiful common area. They have a business area that has like two computers in it. They have a kitchen there, and I asked them, "Are the residents allowed to go down and use the kitchen?" And they said, "Yeah. If they want to have a gathering they can come down here." Out back they have a pickleball court and a bocce ball court. You can have your washer and dryer in your apartment, but if you don't they have a nice laundry room with four washers and dryers. They also have a very nice game room that has a pool table, a card table, a chess and a checker table. It's gorgeous.
