My dad moved into Evergreens at Columbia Town Center. The facility is very well kept up. There are some younger, older people. Everyone's very friendly. There are lots of good common spaces and activities. There's a pool, a hot tub, and grounds outside for you to sit and hang out. There's also a grill, so there are things to do when people come to visit. The staff is fantastic so far. They are very responsive. There is no dining area. The community organized bingo nights. They have music, movies, and water aerobics. It was very reasonably priced. The other thing that's worth noting is that it's right in Columbia Town Center, so there's a lot of good stuff nearby and attractions.

Evergreens at Columbia Town Center had a swimming pool and an eating facility. The apartments were extremely nice. It had a washer and dryer in the units and a full kitchen. They offer a system where you have to check in every morning just to say "Hello. I'm up./I'm awake, I'm moving around." and I kind of like that. They had a lot of activities there and a lot of things going on. They have a food court across the street, in the Columbia Mall. I liked the place. I think each apartment has a balcony. The lady there was very, very nice and very informative. They don't have an entrance fee, which is good. You pay $3,000 or something there upfront before you move in. Everything is prorated in that first month. It was just a little out of my budget because once I did the calculation, I would have pretty much $500 left to work with and I have other bills, a car, medicines, and $500 is not going to get it. Having $500 today is like having a nickel in your hand and nothing costs a penny anymore. It was very nice, though.

Evergreens at Columbia Town Center was nice. They do not provide food. It's active living. They're senior apartments. They're beautiful. They're very spacious. They're a little pricy, but it's very secure. I think they host different events. It seems to be a very affable place. It's right across the street from the mall, so that's super convenient. There is a grocery store that's attached to the mall also. There are tons of restaurants around the Columbia Mall. I didn't see as many senior people like my aunt that have walkers and stuff like that. I saw a lot of active adults. I saw people who were leaving the gym, and I saw people who were dressed up and getting ready to go out. It's a place where 55-plus people go to live, but they want to be in something that I think is a little more exclusive. The facilities are very, very nice. Real estate around the mall is very expensive, so if you don't want to buy a house and have to pay a big mortgage, what they charge here for rent is probably better than what you would pay for a mortgage in the area. It can be like $2400 a month to $2800 a month. There's parking and it's right by the mall, so if you have a lifestyle like that where you want to be within walking distance of all the stuff you want to do and you have free parking, you're not paying a mortgage, but you're in proximity to everything that's there, that's probably a really good deal.

The Evergreens at Columbia Town Center was really beautiful. It was just too expensive for me. They had beautiful grounds, a swimming pool, a garden, an exercise room, and a computer room. They had one and two-bedroom apartments. They had garage parking. The staff was nice and very helpful. Some of the apartments had balconies. It looks like it's a new facility. It is close to Columbia Mall. They have a washer and dryer in the unit.

I went to Evergreens at Columbia Town Center last June. It was very clean, the first impression was professional, but the grounds were disruptive. It's a beautiful place, clean, well kept, the only problem I had was the price. It's a little bit costly, otherwise, I would happily live there because it's great proximity to everything. The malls aren't far from it, the theaters right to the side of it. They had a grand room with a large screen TV, piano, so you can have live performances, a huge dining room, and a kitchen where you can do cooking demonstrations or paint. They had a great greenhouse if you like gardening, they had a huge pool, outdoor swimming pool, gym, and exercise place.

I am glad that I rented the guest room in January 2017 for 2 nights so that I could get a good idea of what the location, the facility and the people who live at the Evergreens are like. The location could not be better: directly across the street from Columbia Mall (close to the movie theatres and with a great variety of restaurants & shops), bus stops on the corner and terminal at the Mall, Whole Foods across from the Mall on the opposite end, and library nearby. The buildings are very clean, well maintained, and attractive. The grounds are pleasant, and I could see that they must be lushly green anytime but winter, with outdoor pool, barbecue cookers, and comfortable outdoor seating. My visit must have been timed right because there was a birthday party for everyone born in January, to which all Evergreens residents (& I) were welcome. There were a few games, cake and ice cream, special gifts for the birthday "babies", and a small gift for each of the rest of us. The Community Room, only a few yards from the cozy first floor guest room, is where the party was held. There is a kitchen where hot and cold beverages and popcorn are available most of the time, newspapers are provided for all to share, comfortable furnishings are arranged for conversation, there are tables and chairs for cards and other games, & a very nice area that has been used sometimes for private parties. Adjoining, is the Billiards Room where Chair Yoga is held regularly. Across the hall is a business center with 2 desktop computers, all-in-one printer, shredder, and other office conveniences. The Fitness Center, in a room down the hall has up-to-date exercise equipment, and scheduled instruction is available. A mirrored exercise room with barre is in the parking garage, and regularly scheduled classes are held there. Please contact the Leasing Office for a schedule of activities. I took every opportunity to talk with residents, and found most have been there for many years. Some had changed to smaller or larger apartments (there are many different sizes and configurations), were glad to be there, and all encouraged me to move in. Several volunteered to show me their apartments, which were much more spacious than I expected from the floor plan on the website. If you are considering the Evergreens I advise you to stay a night or 2 in the guest room, which is complete with mini-kitchenette, and is much more reasonably priced than local hotels. (The same room is conveniently available for guests of residents). The 2 nights worked out very well for me because I found the location perfect, the facility pleasing, and "natives" friendly. I was not able to sign a lease because I cannot commit until later this year, but the Evergreens looks like the right place for me. (4 stars instead of 5 because if I could make one change it would be to have a resident manager for additional security and rapid response). Aloha, Roz Cole

The Evergreens at Columbia Town Center was extremely nice and I didn't smell anything. I liked almost everything in there.
