My father-in-law is in Lorien Harmony Hall. They have a lot of activities there and a lot of monitored outdoor space. They have a restaurant, and they have like a theater where they play movies. The rooms are spacious. He's in a private room. It has a kitchenette area with cabinets and a microwave. He likes to snack a lot and eat late at night, so that helps him be comfortable with that. There are lots of opportunity to move around the premises and meet other people. Part of the reason we chose it was because our primary care physician's office has doctors and nurse practitioners that visit there, so sort of continuity of care. They have outdoor spaces, and they have their own van that takes residents shopping and on outings, and they have activity rooms. It's extremely expensive, and there were other places that would have been less, but they didn't have the same amenities, and they didn't have the continuity of care for us. There have just been a few snafus. The staff has always been pleasant to us, so I'm happy with them. It's very attractive.

I toured Lorien Harmony Hall. One of the biggest disadvantages is you have to put a $4000 deposit before you can move in. I couldn't put in the $4000 deposit. The place is big. It's all over one floor. It's peaceful there. It has its advantages, if you have dialysis, you don't have to go out to do it. They have the dialysis right there. The people were nice. They have a very nice dining hall. The rooms were fine. They have activities going on and bathrooms are fine.

My husband will be moving into Lorien Harmony Hall. Everything was great. The salesperson was great. I was very surprised that they have three levels. One level is for people who need just a small amount of assistance. The second level needs a little more assistance, and the third is for those who might need a lot of nursing care. My husband isn't able to get out of bed because he can't walk. He had a hematoma on all of the nerves that affect his legs, so he wasn't able to move his legs at all. But all of the nursing care that he had at the nursing home, everything that he gets there, he will get at Lorien Harmony Hall. Their third floor has everything basically that a nursing home would have, but it is assisted living. The grounds are manicured and well taken care of. The staff who gave the tour was very informative and answered all my questions without a problem. She showed me different types of settings. They had three different types of rooms, and we both agreed that my husband just needed a studio. He didn't need anything larger than a studio. They have activities during the day. There are people coming in, there's singing and games, and they even have a movie theater in there where they show a movie once a week. Since my husband can't go and do it by himself, they would let him know that there's a movie going, and they'll take him right down to the movie theater.

I toured Lorien Harmony Hall. It was a place that provided everything. Everything is right there. They offer the things that I'm looking for. I only met with the staff, and she answered the question to my satisfaction. She was very knowledgeable. The rooms were average size. They were nice. They have a movie theater room, too.

Harmony Hall was pretty good. It's just that they segregate the residents. So, my mom was on a floor that had a nursing home feel to it. They did a good job though. The staff was pretty decent. All in all, it's a good facility and they provide good care. If people are more active than my mother, it's probably a perfectly good environment for them. Their one-bedroom apartment had bigger space. They had a kitchenette, a refrigerator, a sink, a microwave, and living space. They had an area in the back to go outdoors, while the front was more like a parking lot. They had some activities, like watch movies in their theater and stuff. I just didn't see a lot of activities on the floor my mother was on. Other than that, it was a good value for the money.

Harmony Hall was very welcoming. The rooms were very spacious, and when we were there they had somebody come in to sing for the residents. It looked like they were enjoying it. They had a movie theater, a restaurant-style dining room, and a coffee bar, too.

Excellent assisted living environment. Knowledgeable and friendly staff, who carefully listened to my family’s needs. Jennifer is a fine ambassador for Harmony Hall. She is transparent about care management and costs, and her kindness and concern for the well being of our whole family were much appreciated. I recommend this community highly.

I like Harmony Hall particularly because it has medical on-site and it was very close to the Village Center, so there is shopping nearby. That was very high on my list. The rehab gym was nice. The rooms seemed small, particularly compared to where my mother is now. The staff seemed very knowledgeable, very friendly and they seemed to understand my mother's needs. Upkeep and maintenance seemed fine. Amenities were nice; they had a little cafe in it. I would give it a 4 and the only reason it's not a 5 is because of the size of the rooms. I like the staff.

My mother lived at Harmony Hall for 21 years. She had medical conditions that made it unsafe for her to live alone, but she didn't want to live with her children. She started in independent living and really thrived there. She was relieved of the burden of managing her prescription drugs, and cooking meals; two tasks that she really needed help with. She took advantage of the outings and activities offered by Harmony Hall. Over the years her health declined. After a stroke left her severely impaired, she moved to a higher level of care. Through the years, Harmony Hall constantly assessed her current needs and made adjustments to her care as needed. The staff was a fabulous partner with me to provide the best quality of life we could achieve. My mom was not always easy to care for, but the folks at Harmony Hall worked very hard to find ways to improve her life as she aged and her needs and capabilities changed. The facility is very clean and well maintained. They refurbish the well used common areas regularly to keep them fresh and in good repair. They have areas our family used to hold gatherings so we could include Mom, even after her health prevented her from going out to events. Every staff member greets residents by name; a skill that I am a little jealous of, and is appreciated by the residents and families. They all had techniques for working with my mom. The on site occupational and physical therapy are outstanding. So is the nursing care. And when our family reached the end of life phase with Mom, Harmony Hall was excellent at that as well, partering seamlessly with Gilchrist, right in her familiar home, mom's Harmony Hall apartment. Harmony Hall was a great home for Mom 21 years ago when was mobile and actively participated in activities. It was still great as her health declined over the years. Mom had a peaceful passing, in her own apartment at Harmony Hall, with her family and familiar caregivers around her. I am thankful we were able to provide this in partership with Harmony Hall.

If you want a second family that will truly care about your loved one, research no further- Harmony Hall is the right choice! I did EXTENSIVE research before transferring my mom from rehab to Harmony Hall, and I couldn't be happier. I was impressed with the staff before the pandemic, but now I am honestly just blown away by the level of commitment by the entire staff - not only to my mom's heath and safety, but to her happiness and desire to stay socially engaged. The amount of communication with the families during this quarantine has been simply remarkable and appreciated more than I can express. The staff has gone above and beyond to keep my mom connected to her family through video calls and now even an in--person visit by my sister and nieces from a safe distance. I look forward to being able to fly back to Maryland and see my mom and thank the staff. Harmony Hall is an absolutely beautiful facility with an incredibly caring staff. I was extremely worried when COVID-19 first hit and was scared for my mom and the entire elderly population across the country, but it all changed when one of her nurses told me on the phone that she loves my mom "as if she were her mom."

Our Mom moved into Harmony Hall at the end stage of her life after living independently with 24/7 care which was no longer affordable. It took her a while to adjust to not having someone around every minute for help but she did adjust. We found that having nursing staff, daily was a huge help plus a nurse practitioner & doctor were available if necessary. Having prescriptions filled automatically and adjusted when needed very important. The food staff went out of their way to accommodate Mom's changing food selections. She did have difficulty using a wheelchair or walker in the bathroom because the bathroom was small but she managed. She had a very nice apartment and overall the facility was in good shape and renovating as needed. The staff provided many forms of entertainment but our Mom was really not able to participate much although when she did she enjoyed herself. The other big advantage for us is that Harmony Hall did a great job coordinated care with Gilchrest Hospice and the combined care was much needed and appreciated. Overall Harmony Hall was the best situation for our Mom and we felt that the staff did as good a job as they could based on our Mom’s needs and the availability of staff. We also appreciated the managerial team who took a personal interest in our Mom’s well-being and were very cooperative when requests were made. We felt that Harmony Hall did everything possible to help our Mom under the circumstances but when someone needs constant care it is a very difficult situation.

The entry process for respite was very simple and our admissions person was incredibly patient and responsive. The facilities were very tidy and cheerful. The second floor nursing staff was on top of all medical issues and reached out to me when necessary. My father enjoyed his time at HH.

My sister stayed at Harmony Hall for one month, taking advantage of their Respite Care program. She had broken her hip and was in another rehab facility following the surgery, but when she was released from rehab, she was not ready to go home and care for herself. Harmony Hall provided an outstanding bridge for her to continue to regain her strength, all under their watchful eye and outstanding care. She had a comfortable furnished apartment, and was provided with exceptional care and support. She had three meals daily in a beautiful restaurant-like dining room. The nursing staff administered all her medications, and attended to any additional medical oversight. Her physical therapy was outstanding, and it was customized to her specific needs to prepare her to return home independently. I cannot say enough to say how pleased and happy she was with her time at Harmony Hall!

Harmony Hall looked very nice. They were doing some renovations, but it was very nice. The problem I had there is I am in a wheelchair, and I couldn’t even get my wheelchair through the door of the room that they showed me. I also didn’t feel that warmly received. They were polite and all, but there was a lack of warmth. On the day I went, there was an activity in progress, but most of the residents were just sitting around talking with one another and watching TV. But they have a list of activities that they do during the day. The lady showed me the different rooms that they had and, after I have tried the first one, my wheelchair couldn’t get through that one either. She showed me another one that my wheelchair got through, but that wasn’t actually the one I was interested in. I was interested in the 1-bedroom, and she was going to show me that, but I couldn’t get my chair through the door. She told me that if I would move in, she would see that door is replaced. But it seemed hard to change the door frame because of the way the apartment has been built.

Harmony Hall was nice but not quite for me. They have a coffee stuff in the lobby in front, and the apartments were small, but at least they had separate bedrooms. I didn’t see any place to work out or place that you can walk outside.

My mom has lived at Harmony Hall for three years now. They have a wonderful staff who have never been anything less than patient and considerate with the elderly. The only negative I can say is that the bathrooms are not accessible because the doorways are not wide enough. They need to retrofit the bathrooms and the doorways to fit wheelchairs because that’s a really an inconvenience. They do have shared rooms, but my mom is in a private room. They have movies and bring in a lot of people from the outside for musicals or concerts. My mom likes that. They have a hairdresser and a podiatrist that come in, too.

I was able to visit Harmony Hall. Everyone seemed very nice during my visit. It was a very nice, clean-looking place, but the available room was much too far away for my relative to walk.

I just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for the wonderful attention and care that was given to my Mom, June M., and my Dad, Frank M., over the last 5+ years. When we looked for an assisted living community for Mom and Dad 5 years ago, we wanted one in a good location, easy access to doctors, transportation to stores and caring staff with the expertise to help as my parents health changed. Harmony Hall accomplished all that. My parents started in monitored living and then progressed through different care levels as needed all in the same community. We had the support of care givers, nursing, food staff, transportation, outside medical and structured events/activities. Couldn’t have asked for better. My family highly recommends Harmony Hall if you have a friend/family member who needs security and support for daily living. Thank you, Dwight A. M.

Harmony Hall was an older building, but their list of activities was very good. We just weren't that impressed, but for somebody who is still active, they would love it. They're undergoing renovations on their main floor. The staff was very accommodating. I would recommend them, but they could update their rooms.

Harmony Hall was very nice. I had a lovely tour with the representative, and I liked it very much. The rooms were nice. I believed those were the ones that had kitchenettes and refrigerators. They seemed good. The Harmony was probably my favorite. I did not eat there, but the menu looked very good. They had quite a bit of activities. It seemed very clean, and it seemed to me almost like a resort than an assisted living area. There was a snack bar, and it was just lovely. The dining area looked great. I would recommend them.

My father lived at Harmony Hall, and we were very pleased with the care that he got. The staff seemed very helpful, and we felt like they are checking on him frequently. He was pretty deaf, and they were very understanding of that and willing to talk. We were very pleased. Overall, we were very pleased with the place. It didn’t look like a nursing home. He had his own bedroom and his own living room; it was a mini apartment, and that is the reason why we chose the place.

Harmony Hall was very well kept and very upbeat. The staff seemed friendly. There was no bad smell. They showed me the rooms, and they were very clean. They had plenty of activities, and they were enough for someone to basically enjoy themselves there.

I chose Harmony Hall as part of it was affordability and part of it was the lady who runs it, who I spoke with; I had a very good feeling about her. I thought their complete approach where mom didn’t have to move again was great since they have connection to long term care facilities and they are down the street from the hospital. They have a doctor on site and a nurse. It all just tends to have everything. The staff is accommodating too. I would recommend them.

My mother lived out the last 7 or so years of her life at HH. I would say HH is the best place around, given the current state of elder care in the US. The facility is clean, the food is good, and the staff are nice and professional. My mother was especially fortunate, because all her caregivers, save one, were trustworthy, nice, and truly loving! I thank HH for caring for my mother while she transitioned from independent living, to needing some assistance, then moving upstairs to even more care when her arthritis and mobility limited her even more, and finally, to hospice care with Gilchrist coming to her room, caring for her and ensuring a pain-free death. The staff at HH really loved my mother, and she felt it. Thank you Harmony Hall.

The best word to describe Harmony Hall is AWESOME!!! From the moment we walked in the door we were treated like we were the most important family to them. EVERY employee we met there was pleasant and always helpful. If there was a need, they were there. The facility has a homely feeling, is impeccably clean and always smells nice. From the environmental services employees to adminstration, every one was accomadating and pleasant. I loved that they knew not only every residents name but they also new all of my family members names and always spoke. And the food.....REALLY good. We always looked forward to the Sunday brunches and sitting out by the fountain with my dad. My dad loved his apartment and that it was just enough for him.He loved everyone who cared for him. This is the place for your loved one to be if you want "caring from the heart".

My father spent the last nineteen months of his life at Harmony Hall--There were so many dimensions that made this profoundly difficult experience, into a meaningful and a deeply human one. The facility itself is attractive and warm and the food was certainly quite good. Most important, however, was the aspect of human caring. The staff, in a way that conveys both respect, confidence and competence, didi remarkable work with my dad (during some very difficult times. His human and emotional needs and his dignitdy were always balanced inthe equation of his care. As a son, this gave me great peace if mind. The peace of mind I am describing is beyond value--

I visited Harmony Hall. Actually, my grandmother had been there. I liked them, but the other facility seemed a little homier to me. Nevertheless, Harmony Hall seemed very nice. They did have activities for their residents. The people were pleasant. They showed me all around. They were very accommodating. I had no problems with any of them. I was also shown a one-bedroom apartment. Unlike the other facility where my mother is currently, they had more like a wet bar area than a full kitchen. It was just a sink, a small refrigerator, and a microwave.

Harmony Hall is closest to my house. They have a continuing care and could accommodate my parents' needs. They're staying together in an apartment but could get their needs separately. Mom just passed away recently, but dad is going to stay there. The staff was unbelievably good.
