"I was here and they are very nice. They had nice lectures and wonderful activities. The problem is that they area inhabited by older people and I'm tired of living with older people; they are mean. With regards to the staff, I didn’t like that they would come in to my room at night to give me my pill. I feel it's a transgression of my living space. These sort of things is something you can't find out by visiting the place by just being in the lobby or dining room as such. You have to be in the facility to know what it's like."

"We will choose Cadence at Olney because we felt that the residents were more in line with where my mother is at this time, they were more on her level. It was a brand new place and there were options in choosing what room she wanted. It was bright and clean, we just felt very comfortable there. My mother and brother thought the food was great, they really liked it. Mom participated in a group coffee activity that was in the morning, they had chair yoga and that sort of exercise class when we were there. We saw in the activities room that the residents were doing some sort of art project. We love the fact that they have a movie theater that we could reserve for family nights. They had spaces where if we wanted to have a party for mom, we can bring friends over and there'll be a space available to do that. It just seemed very welcoming and warm. It just seemed like home. They seemed very comfortable, warm, and welcoming and the staffs are very friendly and accommodating. And it seemed to be a good fit for what we needed from my mom."

"Very nice facility. Includes independent living, assisted living and nursing care arrangements. Staff seem very helpful, and food in the dining room is good. Also, there are a lot of activities for the residents, including shuttle bus services to nearby cultural events as well as to churches and grocery stores. "

"I had the most incredible tour of Chevy Chase House when looking at senior living options for a family friend. Mary the Sales Director gave me a tour of the building including a studio and 1-bedroom unit (beautiful big windows, great light, modern renovation), the gym and the great room. She also insisted I order from the lunch menu and meet the Chef. As a vegetarian, I was delighted to see a veggie burger on the menu and noticed the food choices appealed to a broad range of dietary preferences. At the end of my tour, Mary handed me the lunch I ordered (covid prevented me from dining onsite) that was packed in an insulated to-go lunch box, along with a side salad, a piece of cake and a water bottle. Honestly, I was ready to move in there myself. There is a Starbucks 1 block away and the gorgeous upper Northwest DC setting makes you feel like you're still part of the DC action while giving residents the services and amenities they may need. This is a no-brainer choice."

"I went to Victory Court Senior Apartments. It was very nice. The woman there was very pleasant. It was a nice visit. The general appearance is very clean and very quiet. Everything was just very spotless. I had a chance to meet one or two of the residents. They looked very content, as to be expected, slightly bored, but it was nice. The ladies in the office were very friendly and very informative. Most of the units have a kitchen, whether it's a small kitchen or a larger kitchen for the two-or three-bedrooms. They have a common area where they have get-togethers. The rooms are very simple. There are small islands in the kitchens. For the most part, very clean, very modern facilities. When you get to the two- and three-bedroom units, I think you can request that they have a washer and dryer. The amenities are really nice. Everything is very convenient. "

"The rooms are very spacious! I am looking for a 1 bedroom for just myself. I don’t want a lot of space, but rooms are great sizes. The area has almost everything you need shopping, dinning, church, entertainment, home improvement supplies,metro and parking. At the time I visited the building was quiet, I’m sure there are times when it’s not. But I live inside my apartment. That doesn’t bother me. I like the apartment. I’m still looking but this may be it!!! Take the tour!!!"

"I just moved into Hillside Senior Apartments. I pay $1160 a month. That's for independent living. All utilities are included. It's a nice place. It used to be a hotel at one time. The only thing I disagree with is they need more maintenance men. They only have one maintenance man here. The resident manager and the receptionist are good at trying to help everybody get situated, but they only have one guy who takes care of everything. The people in the office are trying to help and they try their best. Sometimes on holidays, they have things going on and they supply food for those things. They do activities sometimes maybe four or five times out of the month. They've got bingo, cookouts, dancing classes, and yoga classes. They have a gym room."

"I toured Golden Rule Plaza. I like that it was convenient to a lot of places that I could get to, like close to my church and grocery shopping. Also, the place was very nice. It was up-to-date. Everybody was friendly and knowledgeable. The structure is very sturdy and clean. The layout was very nice, and everything was very roomy. I felt like it was kind of bright and cheery."

"The people at The Carnegie at Washingtonian Center were great. The place is great. It's just very expensive. The apartment size is average. It's very nice, clean, neat, and organized. The dining hall is very nice. The parking situation is excellent. They have a pool. Thirty meals are included with the monthly fee."
