I went to the Prince of Peace III. Yesterday was a very dreary day, so the home was a little dark I thought . It was clean. The room was nice that they had offered for my father to stay. Everything was clean and neat. The home is a little old, but I can understand that. It was a little dark, and I think that was because of the weather outside. All in all, I think it was a nice place.
I spoke with the owner. She gave us the tour. The staff, I just saw them. They were friendly, but the owner was very nice. She gave me a lot of good information that I didn’t know anything about. This is my first time doing this. She gave me a lot of good information and gave me information about what she provided for the residents there. I was very impressed.
She did say they had puzzles. They had a little game. They had TV night where they pop popcorn and watch television. I don’t know how much activity my dad would be doing, but I think he would enjoy being there because there were several ladies there. My dad likes talking to the ladies, so I think he would enjoy being there.
They showed me the outdoors. They had a porch. When the weather’s nice, the residents sit out on the front porch. The neighbors know some of the residents. The children and everyone in the neighborhood speaks to the residents when they are outside. I didn’t see any other amenities other than the porch. I just think it could be a little brighter. The room that I saw for my dad had a brown comforter on the bed and the curtains were brown. I think it was either beige or white in between. The light didn’t look like it was very bright. I would have thought that the house would have been just a little bit brighter.

My husband is staying in Sligo Creek Center. He has been there since June 18th. In terms of location, it takes me almost an hour to get to him there. He also said that he has a little problem with them. He said they hadn’t given him a bath. He weighs about 230 and they said that they didn’t have a chair for the shower for him. He was supposed to get a shower at least twice a week. So he was upset about that. He is sharing a room with another patient and he doesn’t like that. He likes to be by himself. They do keep his room clean though. They also have a calendar of activities but he doesn’t participate in any of them. With regard to the staff, he said that some of the staff did not want to tend to him. He said the food is good but sometimes he said he doesn’t like it. In general, I don’t think the food there is that bad.

My brother stayed at Sunrise at Fox Hill for respite. It was very well run and very clean. The people were very attentive and eager to help when asked. The food could be a little bit better. They tend to run out of items at meals, like for lunch (e.g. hamburger). I think the food could be a little more appetizing and have a little more variety. They didn’t have any specific dietary meals. My brother is a diabetic, and they had one sugar-free thing a day. They don’t cook with salt, but they don’t do any restricted type of meals there. You have to restrict it yourself, so that was a little bit of a concern. He was one of the younger people there. Most of the people there were for end of life. The director was very good. The sales manager was very good, very helpful, and always listened to our concerns. Value for money was good. A lot of the people there were older and had more medical needs than he. He was there just to get help for a month for respite, which was great.

Have been in Able Plus Assited living since November 2019. This facility is good, am happy and it’s comfortable for me, they thak care of my needs very nicly. I have good experience here. The facility is a place to be.
Here at Able Plus, Any time i have need to see the doctor they book my appointment and provide transportation to and fro the clinic. A caregiver will also accompany me to be of assistance in the presence of the doctor.
I came to this facility with a stage 4 wound. They really tried for me by sending me to the wound clinc once a week, Nurses came to dress the wound every other days of the week Including the caregivers. This made my wound to heal very fast am so impressed by my improvement.
They provide me with a Physical therapist and an Occupational therapist who also work with me 2 to 3 times a week according to my needs. This greatly improved my condition.
The caregivers were also trained to follow up on my therapy.
Here at Able Plus, we have 24 hour caregivers taking care of all the residents both night and day.
In all other facilities like Nursing homes, Rehabilitation center there is always a problem but this facility is not an exceptional and there is nothing they’re unable to resolve to my pleasure and it all worked out very well.
I am a family person, i therefore recommend anybody who has a family that Able Plus is just the right place to come because the services they provide is very good, it’s like another family member helping another family member.
The service rendered here is good, it’s intimate and close in all respect.
The price for every residents differs from one to another depending on the care of plan of individual. For my condition the price is sensibly reasonable.
I strongly urge anybody who is interested in this kind of service, professional approach needs, intimate, Respect, Clean, home made and delicious meal are served here, this is a place for you.

I have YET to get a straight answer about anything over the past 5 months. All I get is "call back later when someone else is here". SIMPLE questions. Like where did this package from Amazon go? What is your email address to the nurse station? "I don’t have one". Really?
It is THE most disorganized place. No one gives a straight answer and everyone wants to pass the buck. I don’t know how many times I have heard different staff who have different understandings of whatever their current Covid policy is at the time. Then when asked about it, they say, "Oh well, you should probably ask………."
Unbelievable. So dissatisfied. See if you can find ANYWHERE on the website who the staff is or a way to contact them directly. There is only a general number and well I have already mentioned what happens in that case….read above. The only place to email here is based on the relationship to the FUTURE resident.
Hard to understand how they stay in business. It can’t be for long given the way they operate.

Bartholomew House is a very loving, caring, comfortable, and intimate place because it is small. It is a little bit more like a larger home, and it smells very clean. The food is good, and it has a great caring staff. They really feel that it is more than their job, and they put their heart and soul into the residents. It doesn’t have the extra amenities that some people might like, but they are extra caring with the residents which is the most important thing to me. The staff just goes above and beyond what you would expect. They communicate with me, and they reach out to me. They take the lead in my dad’s care very proactively. You would not have to worry about your loved one there.
