"My father has moved into Care Personnel Healthcare Inc. His room is extremely clean and cozy. I don't know the specific activities that they have right now. It is kind of cold outside, so he can't really go outside right now. They have games that are there, if he wishes to play them. The staff is excellent and very caring. I have been there every day since my father has been there, and it is absolutely spotless. He came from rehab, where he wasn't eating at all. The staff is getting him to eat a little bit more. Right now, he is really only taking oatmeal and soup, which is an improvement over what it was. I'm not sure if he has tried solid food yet, but they are very encouraging about getting him to eat. During the nicer weather, they have things outside, but he can't do that now."

"My mother-in-law is in Sunrise. Overall all, it is good. There have been some challenges initially in her acclimating to the facility. But overall she is happy there. The rooms are elegant, large and well decorated. The food is probably a diet that is more appropriate for elderly residents, but she enjoys it. Most of the staff has been very helpful, but they definitely need more training sometimes for the level of care that they require. However, she is very pleased with the ones that she deals with all the time. I know they have transportations and they do shopping trips, outings, games and exercise. "

"I moved in. I chose it because of the activities, and the facility is very attractive. There are lectures and movies. The apartment is beautiful. It has a Southern exposure, and it is very bright. It is in a good size for one person. It has two bedrooms, and I am very pleased with it. It is a very active community. The food is very good. The staff is very attentive."

"Chevy Chase House was quite nice. Everything was good and I was well taken care of during my tour. The staff was very good and very helpful. The apartments were fine. Everybody was very friendly."

"I visited Hillhaven. The staff was friendly, and the dining area was clean. The grounds were very well-kept. The residents were playing bingo when I was there. It was in a residential neighborhood, and it was a very nice facility. "

"My dad wanted to stay in Sunrise. They had games. They had places they could take them out on outings. The food was OK. I thought that the staff was very friendly. It was a very nice place. He was happy. "

"I thought the rooms were very small at Sunrise Brighton Garden of Friendship Heights. That was the closest one to where the rest of the family lives, but the rooms were so tiny that it did not seem that it would work for him. The people were very nice. During the time, there was a big snow storm here, and I could not go over there, but there were very nice keeping in touch with me. It was a very lovely facility. The common areas were very nice. "

"Modena Reserve at Kensington was a nice place. When I first stepped in (being that it's two years old), it was more of a contemporary place, which is fine for some people, but I don't feel as comfortable in that kind of setting. I don't have anything against it. It's not a bad entranceway, it's just more modern. I think they still had some work they wanted to do on it when I went. So, that's another thing. The staff were very nice and very friendly. I didn't get a big listing of all the activities that they have there, but they have activities. I just didn't go into details about that, but they told me they have social hours, cooking demos, some outings, and card games. They're about like the rest of the places. They feature all that. They're in the heart of Kensington. So, they're right by the railroad station and an antique village there."

"My dad has moved in. It's a very nice small community in an urban setting with very caring staff. The meal is pretty good food. However, it was very, very expensive. They have a lot of activities. They might need more physical activities, but they have lots of different activities and lots of things to keep them going, so that's great. They have an exercise area but it's very small. It doesn't have outdoor space, but it's next to a lot of public trails. My dad's room is small but very nicely appointed and very clean."

"Sunrise of Bethesda is very open and fairly new. There is lots of light. A very friendly atmosphere. However, there are not that many grounds. There's a small patio area and kind of a border, but there's no extensive grounds or landscaping. The staff who toured us was very friendly, candid, and very nice. As we made our decisions and had questions, she was very willing to talk to us. We had lunch and it was fine, but I don't have extensive knowledge. It was just an ordinary lunch, it was nothing spectacular, but it was fine. For activities, I observed exercise in the morning, and I observed the activities director with a group, but we only stayed a few minutes. Everyone looked engaged."

"Able Plus Assisted Living is a single-family home that's been converted into a forever home with like 12 to 15 residents. The rooms were very nice. They cook all the food. They have an in-house doctor who comes. They have a person that comes in and does activities twice a week. The staff was professional and courteous. I know they cook fresh."

"The Terraces at Tuckerman Lane was very nice. The apartment sizes were appropriate for seniors. They have activities and a calendar of events. I recall seeing a cafeteria. They have an area outside and sidewalks, and it was well kept. I was pleased. The facility was well-maintained."
