Modena Reserve At Bethesda was very nice. It felt like a luxury apartment building in the heart of Bethesda. The facilities were very nice. They have a movie theater. They have beautiful patios or decks overlooking Bethesda, and there's an outdoor space. Their dining room was nice, and it's up on the fifth floor. They have a cafe on the ground floor where you walk in for residents to have coffee or a pastry with their family or caregiver, which is kind of a nice feature. It has big windows to look out on the street. It felt much more like apartment living than assisted living. They have a beautiful movie theater as well. I didn't see much activity in terms of the residents being out. I saw they had plenty of activities, but I didn't see any of the activities in action. It seemed like a little less of a community vibe, but it may have been a timing issue. The person who was giving the tour may have given tours in the past, but she's not the salesperson. The salesperson was out. They had a different person who was very good and knew a lot, but she didn't have her sales pitch down. I didn't get quite as much interaction with some of the other staff. From what I could see, everyone seemed to be doing their job. They seemed to be kind to the residents.

It is a very nice facility. It's located in downtown Bethesda. The space felt smaller compared to the other place because it's a city facility, but it's very well-appointed. The common areas were spacious, but it didn't feel as spacious as the other place. I kind of expected that because it was a city setting. I really, really like the person who toured me. She was excellent. The rooms were very nice and very bright. They were good size and well-appointed. I really like the facility, but I felt the outdoor space was a little limited compared to other places that I saw. I did not try the food, but the dining room was very nice.

My dad has moved in. It's a very nice small community in an urban setting with very caring staff. The meal is pretty good food. However, it was very, very expensive. They have a lot of activities. They might need more physical activities, but they have lots of different activities and lots of things to keep them going, so that's great. They have an exercise area but it's very small. It doesn't have outdoor space, but it's next to a lot of public trails. My dad's room is small but very nicely appointed and very clean.
