"Bartholomew House is a very loving, caring, comfortable, and intimate place because it is small. It is a little bit more like a larger home, and it smells very clean. The food is good, and it has a great caring staff. They really feel that it is more than their job, and they put their heart and soul into the residents. It doesn't have the extra amenities that some people might like, but they are extra caring with the residents which is the most important thing to me. The staff just goes above and beyond what you would expect. They communicate with me, and they reach out to me. They take the lead in my dad's care very proactively. You would not have to worry about your loved one there. "

"Grand Oaks Assisted Living looked attractive. The apartments, although small, were very nicely done. The staff was very friendly. They showed me some of the community activity areas that looked attractive, too. It was inviting and upscale. The sales rep was very focused on what I was saying and attentive. He just made a good impression on me. I liked the dining area. It felt like a nice upscale restaurant, rather than just kind of a cafeteria feeding place."

"I toured Modena Reserve at Kensington. It was beautiful. It was open and light. I liked the restaurant set up for the dining. It was very pleasant. They had a lot of activities, and the rooms were nice. Everything was great. The staff was wonderful, very pleasant, and very helpful. They had a lot of lectures. They had music, physical therapy, and other therapies in the building."

"I took a tour of Prince of Peace III in September. I looked at their memory care for my aunt. It's a very well-run family care home. It's very small, with no more than 7 or 8 clients. The staff is very caring and they have entertainment for their residents. The facility was very clean and the bedrooms were fair size. It has enough space for a bed, a dresser, and a night table. They have a room that all the clients can come to to socialize and talk. It's like a general space for them. The owners, the people that manage it, were very personable, and very caring. It was close to the highway and seemed like a nurturing environment. They kept health records for each client. They had a notebook that they kept so they could keep up with their medical supervision. Also, the medical personnel came to the facility so the clients didn't have to travel to different places for appointments, which is very nice. The facility was clean. They have a driveway to park for visitors. They did not accept pets but you could bring pets for visitations. The management lives onsite too. That is another very positive thing about the place."

"The Terraces At Tuckerman Lane are for people that need assisted living. But for what it was, that place was extremely clean and beautiful. When I was there, they were having happy hour, and they offered wine and popcorn or something like that. That place was very nice, but the rooms were extremely small. I didn't see anything like an exercise room, and I don't know if those people are capable. They didn't look like functioning adults as they did at the other place. The staff were extremely nice. Even though they knew that I wasn't interested, they insisted on the tour. I realized it wasn't what I was looking for, but they were very courteous and spent a lot of time with me."

"Sunrise at Fox Hill is very nice. It has everything that I think my mom would like. They have a greenhouse, and she loves flowers. They have a nice dining room. There are different floors and different options for eating at any time of the day. They have activities. They have a very friendly staff. It is very clean and well-kept. There are a lot of different models you can choose from. That was the one that stood out to me. It's very beautiful. I looked at the menu. It was a nice and well-balanced meal, and they had different options, so that was very good. The staff who showed me around was very informative and very nice. She had a lot of examples of her own family and what they needed and how she would recommend it even to our own family. She was very informative, very nice, and friendly to us."

"Our 92 year old mother recently moved in to Byron House. She was living independently until a few months ago when she decided she needed help and wanted to be around people to eat and socialize with daily.The staff are first rate, caring and compassionate. The rooms are beautiful and some have wooded views. We are very happy with our selection. "

"My father has moved into Care Personnel Healthcare Inc. His room is extremely clean and cozy. I don't know the specific activities that they have right now. It is kind of cold outside, so he can't really go outside right now. They have games that are there, if he wishes to play them. The staff is excellent and very caring. I have been there every day since my father has been there, and it is absolutely spotless. He came from rehab, where he wasn't eating at all. The staff is getting him to eat a little bit more. Right now, he is really only taking oatmeal and soup, which is an improvement over what it was. I'm not sure if he has tried solid food yet, but they are very encouraging about getting him to eat. During the nicer weather, they have things outside, but he can't do that now."

"Apple Blossoms is the place where you want to place your precious loved one if they need a quiet environment with exquisitely attentive care. The patient, experienced nurses and the director provide individualized attention for each of the residents. There are homemade meals provided three times a day, with two snacks. Also, the director provides tailored additions, reflecting some of the resident’s preferences. Having the security of one’s own room within a pleasant house on a quiet street made the transition much easier for my beloved mother, helping her to end her days in that loving environment. Apple Blossoms places its emphasis on relationships, not fancy rooms. It is watchful for anything that might affect their health or comfort. "I like the community assistance that The Residences at Thomas Circle would be able to offer. We looked at several arrangements, and the studio apartment seemed best for my friend. I liked the flexibility of it, being able to add assistance if needed. The staff was very friendly, supportive, and knowledgeable. The facility was very clean. It was suitable for someone who needed independent living. There were no odors. It was great. The size of the room was quite appropriate for a senior who would be staying in a studio independently. The assisting team that was there was very welcoming. It was a great tour."

"I toured Malta House. The woman there was very helpful with the tour. The room seemed nice. The people that were there seemed to be in good spirits. They were having a bingo game, and people seemed happy and laughing. They had a nice courtyard. The rooms seemed nice, but it's a little small. The whole place was clean and well taken care of. The courtyard was a little disordered, but not in a way that seemed like off or out of place. It has a nice fountain and a good environment."
