"I went here. I liked the way they introduced you to the place. I was met at lunch by two of the residents, one was 75 and one was 86, they talked about how they liked the place. The food that one time was very good, and they did have a menu to choose from, it wasn't just brought to me. I saw the rooms, the place was small versus something I can afford, but overall the ambiance of the place was very nice, and the people were very nice, friendly, and that's a good impression on me. It's not new, but the updated rooms I saw were fine."

"My husband is currently in Sunrise at Fox Hill and we decided to let him stay where he is in now. We were at some point looking to move him to a different facility due to expense but we decided not to anymore. What I like about the facility is that they have special memory floor for their memory care unit. It's very new and very luxurious. We are separated so our daughter is mostly the one who makes decisions. He used to have and apartment there but now he is in a private room with a tiny little kitchen space. It's much smaller.The nurses there are very good. Their menus are good as well. "

"Bartholomew House is a very loving, caring, comfortable, and intimate place because it is small. It is a little bit more like a larger home, and it smells very clean. The food is good, and it has a great caring staff. They really feel that it is more than their job, and they put their heart and soul into the residents. It doesn't have the extra amenities that some people might like, but they are extra caring with the residents which is the most important thing to me. The staff just goes above and beyond what you would expect. They communicate with me, and they reach out to me. They take the lead in my dad's care very proactively. You would not have to worry about your loved one there. "

"Our 92 year old mother recently moved in to Byron House. She was living independently until a few months ago when she decided she needed help and wanted to be around people to eat and socialize with daily.The staff are first rate, caring and compassionate. The rooms are beautiful and some have wooded views. We are very happy with our selection. "

"My mother, who lived with me for four years, actually requested to go to Raphael House after visiting several times with me. I teach chair yoga there and Mom would accompany me and participate. She made many friends and fell in love with the staff. My mother has been a resident for just over a year, now. She is happier and healthier than I have seen her in years. I am extraordinarily grateful to the competent and loving staff who sees to it that she takes her medications regularly and uses her respiratory equipment properly. The director of the Raphael House even helped me procure a portable oxygen concentrator when I was having difficulty with the provider. I cannot speak highly enough of the Raphael House and its wonderful staff! "

"My husband is in Sunrise of Rockville for respite care. I'm happy with his care there now. I was looking for immediate care and they had an opening, so I was directed there when I went in, the salesperson was very knowledgeable, listening carefully about what my needs were and the problem that I had with the previous assisted living place. Now that he's there, there's some excellent staff. He's in memory care, Reminiscence unit, and they are extremely understanding and helpful. It's very comfortable. One thing that impressed me was that one of the ladies who is in memory care plays the piano, so she can still do that and they engage her to work with any unit. The independent, assisted and memory care people come to have a sing-along with her and I thought that was nice that they use her as well. It's just so pricy."

"My dad moved to An An Assisted Living II. Where he is now is a wonderful place. They take care of the residents there. I go and visit whenever, whenever I want to is fine. They keep you updated on what's going on. So I have nothing bad to say about it. The staff, I rate them a five, however, there is a language barrier. It's a house and there are five residents there. My dad is on a peg feeding only. They do have activities, but I think the youngest resident there is 90, so they don't use it so much."

"Sunrise of Chevy Chase was nice. That was our first choice, but they’re too expensive. The staff was great. The rooms were nice and clean. They were having a pizza party when we were there, and I took a piece for myself. The residents were doing fine."

"After a lengthy search, we found the perfect home for Mom that checked all the boxes: Safe, clean, attentive staff, home-cooked meals, happy residents and conveniently located near family. The home has good natural light and the sun in Mom’s room makes it cheerful. The owner is an experienced registered nurse who understands the needs of the resident. She effectively communicates with Mom, family members and caregivers to provide Mom with an individualized care management plan to ensure she stays healthy, safe, and happy. Her good judgement and communication have relieved our family of worrying about Mom’s care and have enabled us to spend quality time when we visit. Mom loves the caring and attentive staff who make her feel loved and special. They go above and beyond to help her and make her happy. Mom always looks forward to the meals. She is always dressed and clean when we drop in. We never expected Mom to be so content. Assisted Living of Potomac far exceeds our expectations."

"My mom lived here for 3 years 2009-2012 until she died last year. It is by far the best asst. living in this area. Mom lived in asst. living in another state before that, and for a short while at Emeritus on 7 Locks Rd (I had to move her out of there, it was so terrible). The caregivers here are extraordinary and the mgmt. very responsive. The food is even good and they have a salad bar and daily "happy hour" with snacks which many residents attend. Also frequent concerts, movies, outings and holiday parties. The medical staff is top-notch. They have nice apts. ranging from studios to 2-BR and are very accommodating to family members. I cannot say enough good things about this facility. It is very expensive but worth every penny if you can afford it. "

"AlfredHouse has nine facilities, but my mom is going to be in a home with eight people as opposed to a big facility. This one is very nice, and just very perfect for her needs. Some people may need larger facilities with big TVs, big dining rooms, and things like that, but my mom has Alzheimer's, so I wasn't interested in paying all that money for the extra bells and whistles that she can't use. It's five minutes from my home, so that makes a big difference, because I visit a lot. The facility is small, it's not a big one, so the ratios are much better. It's like one person to four, and they only have eight people in the house. They have large homes, but I like that one because it is smaller, it's good one-on-one care. It's beautiful, it's a home that has a huge sunroom, it has a TV room, individual bedrooms, both single and double, and it's in a neighborhood. It's a cul-de-sac, and it's in the neighborhood, so you can go out walking and feel safe. It's a beautiful home. The staff is very friendly, and very caring to the patients that were there. Basically, it's a family-owned business, so a lot of the people who worked there were related to the owner, the original owner. I know that people come in and do exercise, music therapy, and memory therapy."

"Living at Cogir of Potomac has truly been a joy. The grounds are so peaceful, with a koi pond and walking paths that make every day feel refreshing, and the meals taste like dining out at a nice restaurant. I love spending time with friends at happy hour, catching a movie with fresh popcorn, or simply relaxing on the terrace in the sunshine. The staff are always kind and attentive—I feel cared for but still independent. It really is the perfect mix of comfort, community, and fun!!"

"I was beyond horrified by this organization. If you care about your family member, stay far far away. The costs posted are grossly underestimated. For your money, you get the cheapest quality food, zero stimulation, extremely limited nursing oversight and horrendous management. These people have no understanding of dementia, nor do they provide appropriate training. They will skimp on what is provided to your loved one so they can line their own pockets. Their caregivers do all the cooking and housework, and have no time to engage with residents. "
