"I toured Merritt Station Apartments. It was lovely. It was clean and friendly. The floor plan was excellent and perfect for my needs. They have a gym. There's a shopping mall right across the street from it, so that's pretty good. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. It's a new building."

"Waterfalls of Catonsville is our Dad’s home and has been since July 2019. It is a small and cozy community in a beautiful wooded area of Catonsville, Md. The owner, his family and all of the folks who work there are kind and caring and do anything they can to help our Dad. If you are searching for an assisted living home, check it out! You will not be disappointed. Individual rooms and you can bring things from home. All food is homemade and all residents come to meals and share the table and meal together. Dad is happy here! "

"I visited Alta, and it was very good. The staff was very personable, they took me around, and showed me the grounds and everything. It was very nice, but it was too expensive for me, and the price goes up every year. The apartments were a very nice size, they seemed bright, and homey. The people I met were very friendly, they had a choir there, and a pool."

"Heartlands at Ellicott City was very pleasant and we liked the place. It's on top of our list. It was really outstanding. It was all positive. It's large. It has a lot of acres there for walking and the activities. It was very clean and well kept, which impressed us. The residents were friendly. Our tour guide was excellent. Everything was explained. We weren't rushed. It was very inviting. I asked my husband, "Is this some place you think we could be?" and he said yes. They have all kinds of activities and they have food. Everything is right there. It's someplace where you can continue to age in place. Our tour guide was very friendly, very upbeat, and encouraging, and she had no problems answering our questions. She was good. If I had a place like that to be able to invite folks, I would want to hire somebody like her. She knows her stuff. She showed interest in us, asking me the right questions, how we feel, what our likes and dislikes are, that kind of stuff. We saw the eating area, the dining room, and the bistro, and the folks seemed to be enjoying themselves. It was very well maintained. We witnessed the housekeepers going in and out of the various apartments to clean. Everywhere we went, it was clean. The floors and the carpets were clean. They weren't nasty and spotted up. You could tell that they really care about their facility."

"Utopia Caring Assisted Living is a well manicured, clean, safe home environment for your love ones. The owner is very helpful and caring. He is focused on meeting clients needs and establishing an effective plan for each patient. The caregivers and medical team go beyond the call of duty to address all of the clients needs. They are proactive, great communicators and try to meet each client where they are and help maintain their livelihood. This assisted living has good meal options that it’s specific to each person dietary and health management needs. The home has the safe at home feeling and not like an assistant living placement. This has helped my father. My father was in poor health with hospitalizations. My father was placed in home in June of 2023 . With the excellent care with the caregivers and home care he is improving with a diabetic wound and overall doing a little better. My father actually calls it home with joy. Thanks Utopia Care. "My dad moved into Evergreens at Columbia Town Center. The facility is very well kept up. There are some younger, older people. Everyone's very friendly. There are lots of good common spaces and activities. There's a pool, a hot tub, and grounds outside for you to sit and hang out. There's also a grill, so there are things to do when people come to visit. The staff is fantastic so far. They are very responsive. There is no dining area. The community organized bingo nights. They have music, movies, and water aerobics. It was very reasonably priced. The other thing that's worth noting is that it's right in Columbia Town Center, so there's a lot of good stuff nearby and attractions."

"I am thankful every day for Elternhaus. The first time I visited, one of my impressions as a nurse was that I would like to work there. When you walk in the door, you sense love and respect. I had already visited many places trying to find a place for my 60 year old husband with Alzheimers. I left each one with a feeling of despair. Elternhaus focuses on the right things for its residents; kindness, patience, acceptance and love. It is in a rural setting, beautiful and peaceful. There are 10 acres to walk in and enjoy the views of nearby sheep and horses. Elternhaus is a family. It is unique. My interactions with the staff are always positive. I regard them with the utmost respect for the work that they do with so much love. They go above and beyond in so many ways. There is a separate house in the back of the property for people who are more independent but need some assistance. It is warm and comfortable. The meals are healthy and homemade. In the summer, residents work in raised beds to help grow flowers and vegetables. There are bee hives and residents can stroll around the property. Individuals living there come to the main house for activities. "

"Wilshire Estates Gracious Retirement Living was a very nice community. The one that interviewed me was very helpful, very kind, and answered all my questions. The rooms were very nice. Everything's in there. If I want to do my own cooking, I can, but they have prepared food. They provide some activities. They do some sort of painting and some ceramic activities if they want to do it themselves. I didn't meet any other staff except the receptionist and the one who's in charge of showing the community."

"We will choose Cadence at Olney because we felt that the residents were more in line with where my mother is at this time, they were more on her level. It was a brand new place and there were options in choosing what room she wanted. It was bright and clean, we just felt very comfortable there. My mother and brother thought the food was great, they really liked it. Mom participated in a group coffee activity that was in the morning, they had chair yoga and that sort of exercise class when we were there. We saw in the activities room that the residents were doing some sort of art project. We love the fact that they have a movie theater that we could reserve for family nights. They had spaces where if we wanted to have a party for mom, we can bring friends over and there'll be a space available to do that. It just seemed very welcoming and warm. It just seemed like home. They seemed very comfortable, warm, and welcoming and the staffs are very friendly and accommodating. And it seemed to be a good fit for what we needed from my mom."
