"The tour at Edens Homes was okay. The place that they showed me was okay. Everything was included. There was an oven, a refrigerator, and a washing machine. The staff was very polite. They offer three meals a day. The facility was clean, secure, and nice."

"Merritt Station II Senior Apartments rejected me. They looked at my pay and said, "You're making too much." I said I'm about to retire. I wanted to go to Merritt Station II, and I found it nice. I went to their open house. They showed me two different-sized one-bedrooms. I liked the location. It's not too far from stores that I can shop at. It was nice and quiet. The staff was nice. It was very clean. It seems like a new building. The size of the rooms is smaller than what I've been living in."

"The Waterfalls of Catonsville was pretty clean. It was a big house that they converted. Their staff was nice. I think you have to bring your own appliances. They have a shared kitchen and shared shower too. The staff who gave us the tour, was friendly and nice. They have a lot of outdoor space, a gazebo, a patio, and a big grassy area. The location is good because they are next door to a senior center. The rooms look almost like a hotel without a shared shower."

"Evergreens at Columbia Town Center had a swimming pool and an eating facility. The apartments were extremely nice. It had a washer and dryer in the units and a full kitchen. They offer a system where you have to check in every morning just to say "Hello. I'm up./I'm awake, I'm moving around." and I kind of like that. They had a lot of activities there and a lot of things going on. They have a food court across the street, in the Columbia Mall. I liked the place. I think each apartment has a balcony. The lady there was very, very nice and very informative. They don't have an entrance fee, which is good. You pay $3,000 or something there upfront before you move in. Everything is prorated in that first month. It was just a little out of my budget because once I did the calculation, I would have pretty much $500 left to work with and I have other bills, a car, medicines, and $500 is not going to get it. Having $500 today is like having a nickel in your hand and nothing costs a penny anymore. It was very nice, though."

"Since day one I have fallen in love with this place. This is by far the best assisted livings in Maryland. I’m so happy that I chose this assisted living for my father. Whenever I come to visit the facility is always clean, the staff is always nice, and my father is always happy. Whenever I take my dad out for a few days hes always so happy to return back to the staff. I highly recommend this facility. "

"The Hamlet at Queenstown is a newly renovated house, and it occupies five people. For a five-person house, they have four people taking care of the patients that were there. They have nurses, doctors, podiatrists, and dentists available. They have everybody that can come in, and whatever the needs of the patient, they come to the house. They have a nice walking area. They go through the woods, and they can take the patients on walks with the use of a walker, or they can go in a wheelchair. It's a very nice environment. It's more of a family type because the maximum number of patients is five. They have hospice care, so they can pass away there at the home. It's a small community, but it's nice. They have a beautiful kitchen, and they fix meals, but it's on a lower scale. The ladies that run the home are very nice and they care about the patients. They're very mature women, and they dress nicely. It's a nice environment. One thing, they have no information for me to take home to study over; They didn't have those available. They did have on the internet, a website, but a little bit. They have all the safety measures that are needed for all the patients, and all the equipment that they will need to transfer patients if they need to be transferred or taken care of."

"My great-grandfather lives here. I have to say this is actually the best facility in the state of Maryland. They have taken expert care of him. He just turned 99 and he has only remained as happy and healthy as he is because of the amazing staff here. They have a nurse in the building 24/7. They treat him as well as his own family would. We get to see him on porch visits every week (sometimes multiple times a week). He has had such good care by the knowledgeable and loving staff! If I had to pick a place to go when I grow old it would be right here! "

"My mother-in-law is in Stella Maris in Lutherville-Timonium right now. The big difference with this facility is they have actually set up a rehab plan. The goals they've set are realistic, and that she can easily reach to show progress. Her room is very clean. We have brought in personal items to try and make it a little bit more homey. They talk to us almost every day in regards to how she's doing. So, communication is very good. The facility is nice, well kept, well furnished, and very pleasing. The food looks very good and very well prepared. They've made it very healthy in regards to what the doctor has instructed on what she should have and what she shouldn't have."

"My mom has been in Brightview Mays Chapel Ridge. It was not the cheapest, but every time I went there the residents seemed pretty engaged. They had a lot of activities going on, and the people looked happier. It just seemed like the best environment for my mother. My mom has a certain amount of dementia. Her short-term memory is not good, but she can still function. She still walks, she still showers, and she does all that stuff. She's not in memory care, but we wanted to have memory care because that could be the path she's heading towards at some point. She's in assisted living. For the most part, I like the staff. They're always friendly and helpful. I have a few complaints, but overall, my mom's happy, and that's the most important thing. They say they tried to get her involved doing activities, but I don't know how much they push it. I keep on telling them to try to get my mom out doing things and being more active, so I don't know how much they push. Overall, I'm happy. I'm complaining, but overall, I'm happy. They are supposed to do laundry on Wednesdays and Sundays, and that doesn't always get done, so I've had to complain about that a few times. But she loves the food, and she loves the staff. For the most part, it's been a good experience. The staff is good. The food is great. They have like a happy hour every day. The place is clean. The staff is friendly. The staff gets along with my mom. My mom likes the staff. She's happy. They have bingo, they play some card games that she likes. There's some big screen TV downstairs and they show some things on England that she likes to go to every week. She doesn't drink, but they have a happy hour in the pub every day with hors d'oeuvres, and she likes to go down there and socialize. She really likes that. That's probably the main one."

"Park View at Towson is very nice. They have studios, one-bedrooms, and two-bedrooms, and it goes by income for the residents, so that they can afford it. They have a lot of activities for the seniors. They have a community room. Everything is supplied, like the refrigerator, the dishwasher, and the stove. They have the pull cord in the bathroom for the elders, so if they get in the bathroom and need assistance, they can pull the cord. They have to buy their own food, but they have access to the fresh market where they give them produce for like $2. They also have some sort of food pantry where the residents who need assistance can go to get goods and services for a minimal fee. The place is very clean and very secure. You can't just walk into the building. You have to call the number from the lobby, and they will buzz you in. They have an outdoor space there, too."
