"I broke my left leg on February 12. I had emergency surgery, and then I was transferred to Kensington Gardens Rehab for my healing process for my broken leg. We have a new administrator for the last three or four weeks. Things are getting much more professional. They were not very professional when I first arrived here in February. There was a lot of temporary help that came and went. They seemed to have their own interest. That has changed now in the last three weeks. The food has improved. The whole management of business of this place has improved since this new administrator arrived. It gets better all the time. They were keeping the place pretty clean before, but now the attitude about keeping it clean has improved. There is bingo three times a week. There is an activities director, who is very responsive if people want to do things like coloring and crossword puzzles. There is a smoking patio, which I don't go to. I only look at from a distance because I'm not a smoker. There's definitely an improvement in the overall attitude and how the place feels in terms of friendliness. There's still a few staff who are crusty and rough around the edges. There also a few staff who left. It is an older building that's been under other management through the years. So it is what it is, but it's quite well laid out in my opinion. They have a wing where any new people go for two weeks for covid quarantine before they are placed in any other part of the building. They are very Covid conscious. All the staff have been vaccinated."

"My 89 year old Mother has been a resident of Comprehensive Healthcare of Clearwater for just over 6 years. I find the staff well suited to care for my mother's needs. Having been diagnosed with Alzheimer's AND dementia, my Mom is often very confused and sad. The staff will go to her and talk with her and try to familiarize her with her room and her surroundings whenever she gets in this confused state of anxiety. The nursing staff is not fast to medicate her as this causes long hours of sleep and drowsiness which furthermore causes depression. I visit my mother at least 5 times a week. The hallways are always polished and shining. The nurses are always there willing to talk and put my mind at ease no matter what time of day I visit Mom or call on the phone. I make lots of phone calls to the facility at all hours!! The food has much improved over the last year. I do not hesitate to have a meal with Mom if I am visiting at mealtime. Mom enjoys the activities that are provided for the residents...especially bingo!! There are always 10 to 15 ladies and gentlemen participating in these games. My Mom calls Comprehensive "home" and I am grateful to the entire staff for being there for my Mom, my brother and me!! Thank you "

"East Bay is a very good rehab center, and my uncle is in there, but he will be moving to memory care. It looks good, and the care is good. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. They have a lot of staff for therapy. The place is very clean, decorated nicely, and cheerful. The food is good, and if they served something that you don’t like, they would serve something. "

"Highland Pines is a nice nursing home. She likes it and she enjoys the activities. She is actually having fun there. The facility is nice and clean. They always have something for her to do every hour to keep her busy. They even called me when she is having seizures and I like that. They would notify me if anything happens. "

"My mother stayed at this location recently, she had broken her hip and during her recovery she needed assistance that I could not provide twenty four hours a day because of my job. In home care was also not something that could be used as our house was not wheelchair accessible. Her stay was mostly pleasant, there were a few incidents that did scare her slightly. She told me that an Alzheimer's patient was wandering around and came into her room while she was changing blouses. Overall, her stay was very pleasant. She was a bit antisocial, and did not want to be in the facility for any longer than was medically necessary, due to her being a very independent woman. If the need were to arise again, she stated that she would be willing to go back if in home care were not possible. The staff was always friendly and patient with my mother, and my interactions with them were superb as well. "

"I have nothing but praise for Sabal Palms Health Care Center. The facility is clean and the care is superb. From the day my parent was admitted they were treated with care and you could tell the staff was their to do their jobs and they did them well. Mom had some "issues" with the food initially but the dietary manager stepped in and things were resolved quickly. The therapy team was great: very caring and professional; in fact everyone was caring and professional. Everyone from nursing and Social Services to Housekeeping were friendly and always smiling, which helped my Mom keep her spirits up. Communication was good and within about two weeks I was invited to a care conference where my Mom and I were informed of her progress in therapy. Mom was eventually discharged home and has shared with her friends how pleased she was with the care and suggested that if they ever need a rehab center, they should definitely go to Sabal Palms. "

"My mom has been at Clearwater Center for 4 days now. So far, she's doing well. The staff that I have met so far has been excellent, very caring, very professional, and very willing to help in any way. I was very pleased. Her room is very small. It's more like a hospital room, and there are two people in the room. It's not big enough for her to have anything. I could not even bring her recliner chair. It's just a bed and a very small end table and a closet. It's a nursing home, so you would kind of get the hospital feel. The dining area is just a room with tables in it. It's very, very bland. I have not had a meal there, but my mother said that the food is good. They have a very small room with just a few chairs that you can go outside that's covered, but there are no grounds. They have an activities director and there are rehab specialists, so they get a lot of care that way. And then they do have other activities that they offer just to keep them busy. Considering that mom is getting advanced care, I would say their price is quite good."

"My husband is at Tierra Pines Center. It's very good. The staff seems pretty good. I haven't been there personally, since he had been there since the pandemic. I've seen his room on the phone when I call him, and it looks pretty good, clean, and painted, and it has a lot of light and a window. I think he's eating all the time because he has not lost weight, but I haven't seen how the food is. He has Alzheimer's. They have a care-plan meeting that you can request ahead of time, and they all get together for a conference call with you. The only thing I have to complain about is the phone system is awful. It's very hard to get a hold of the patient, because either it's a very old system, or they don't have a phone where the nurses are in the locked unit. Other than that, I don't have any problems. The facility looks good, but I haven't been inside the place. They provide medical doctors. There haven't been any issues. It's a very good place. I think my husband feels comfortable. I know the nurses are busy. I think nobody there is picking up the phone like they should because they're all doing something else -- they were occupied and busy. From the beginning, they have been taking care of him and if something happens, they will call me. The other day, he needed a change of medication because he was getting a little bit agitated. He has Medicaid, and they haven't asked me for anything."

"Glen Oaks Health and Rehabilitation Center was a good facility. They have a lot of medical staff and nurses. The director was very helpful, very kind, and went above and beyond. They have a hair salon and a therapy room. They have their own doctor that comes in. There are alarms so that the residents don't try to leave the facility. They're more sophisticated than others because it's a skilled nursing facility. It's a safe place. They work with each person individually as opposed to being in a class depending on their needs. The dining room was good, and they had some pretty good food choices. They have generators in case of a hurricane. It was clean and well maintained."

"I'm in Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Largo. I'm going to be discharged on Monday. They're very pleased with my progress. I'm hoping to get back to walking just fine. I've been here about a week now. It's excellent all the way around. The physical therapists are great. The occupational therapists have been so good; Everything has been exceptional: the nurses, the techs, and the food. It's just one level. They have a therapy gym. It has a couple of wings. I've only been in one wing because that's where my room is. The other wing has the kitchen and the dining area for the workers. My room has a bathroom, a shower, and a sink. They did a group therapy one time with music and a director. Everyone is very cordial."

"Lakeside Oaks took great care of my friend. She is now home and in much better shape than she was prior to going there. The nurses are very caring and we are both so thankful for the team of care members there. "

"My mother has been in Palm Garden for about a month now, and this is one of the best in town. The nurses are excellent. I've not had one single problem. The physical therapy is terrific. It's a really good place, and they have the best help ever. "
