"I guess there was a miscommunication on my appointment for Saturday. There was no one there to show me around. Finally, the activity director, interrupted her pickle game to come and show me the model room and answer a few questions. I was told someone would call me next week with prices, availability, etc."

"I have two very spacious rooms and two baths as well as a beautiful porch. The one meal a day is always delicious and we're able to bring home anything we can't eat, which is often my dinner at night. The grounds are always beautiful and so well kept. We have a wealth of activities. Our staff are always so helpful and polite. It is really like being on a cruise without the water! I really love living here! Florence F."

"My friend is at Freedom Village of Bradenton. It's a very nice place. They're very caring, and that's what I like best. The upkeep is very good. The rooms are just recently renovated, so they're very nice. Their food is very good. It tastes good, and there's a choice between two different meals, so that's nice. There are activities there. They're kind of challenging for some of them, but they are nice. They are good. The cost is kind of high, though."

In addition to a caring management and staff, add on expertise! Hurricanes? No hassle for residents, because EVERYTHING is under control! Top management moves into our complex with generators, dining, communication, medical assistance…all covered! Tina Turner sang it and we agree: “Simply the best, better than all the rest.”"

"My husband was a patient at this facility this past February. He had dementia and was complete care. The hospital had a difficult time finding a facility that would accept him and I wasn't happy when he was accepted at Consulte because of the very poor reviews! The care he received was exceptional. The staff was very caring. I have no complaints regarding the facility. My husband passed away on February 28th and I appreciate the quality of he care he received in his last days"

"I chose this facility for my mother because I always told her I wouldn't put her in a nursing home. She went to an acute rehab hospital one time but they dischared her before she was ready. The next time rehab was suggested, I kept my word sort of by placeing her at Largo Rehab and Spa. She got great care and services. When she went home her functioning was far superior. I saw something on another review about the "lack of" spa services. That's because it's the spa approach that one consumer wasn't seeing. The staff answer call lights quickly and they're very focused on the little things, the requests and desires. They pampered my mom to the point she wanted to stay past her period of insurance covereage. "

"My grandmother is currently at Palm Garden of Pinellas. Since she's been there, she has liked it. And we do too, as a family. It's been wonderful. I love that they have a 24-hour visitation. You can go any time. The open-door policy there just means they have nothing to hide. Everybody there has been so wonderful, just always positive. I don't ever see any of the staff getting cranky. I've never seen anybody being irritated by the residents, on both sides, because we walk across the whole facility to get to my grandma's room. And anybody that is ever around just seems pleasant. I know that they're taking good care of her, and I've seen them take good care of her. There are no smells there. My grandmother doesn't ever look disheveled or like they're not taking care of her. She's never dirty or smelly, and I've gone at different times of the day. Me and my husband have even eaten the food there because they have a dining room where you can eat with your loved one, and the food is good. I feel like they've built a good rapport with the staff because when I see them, they're all very loving to the residents. They joke around and they laugh and have fun. The environment that they create is nice and very comforting. The staff there has just overall been fabulous. They took my grandma out to a pumpkin patch around Halloween, and she picked out her own pumpkin. They took her even though she was in a wheelchair and couldn't walk, and that was amazing for me. They have also asked me what she likes to do and supplied her with coloring books and paint-by-numbers."

"I am staying in Palm Garden of Pinellas for long-term care. It has its good points and bad points. There needs to be more aides all over this place. Occasionally, there's a problem here with that. We're having a problem with the food too. I'm diabetic but there is no diabetic menu so it is a problem trying to eat correctly here. The rooms are small and have two people per room so by the time you get wheelchairs in here, it's tough to navigate. Also, there's no privacy. The upkeep and cleanliness have gone downhill. The one person who could do it the right way had to take off for a couple of months so everything has fallen behind. Things are better now but it's still not up to the level that it used to be. The activities are nothing that I would participate in. Some people seem to like them though. They have painting and coloring but I would like something a little more challenging than that."

"At the initial interview and even once my mother-in-law arrived, we were very impressed with the facility and it's staff as they seemed friendly and positive. However, we should have seen it coming because when we showed up to check her in, no one seemed to know what was going on and we waited 30 minutes in the lobby before anyone could tell us where to go. There were positives and negatives, my mother-in-law said the physical therapy staff were all great and helpful as well as the "administrative staff" but the CNA's and nurses were over-worked and rude. The worst part was that as soon as her Medicare ran out, they practically kicked her to the curb. We were called at work with no advance warning and told to pick her up that day or she would owe $6000.00. She was not done with her physical therapy yet and ended up back in the hospital a week later. Also, she was given a wheelchair and oxygen while she was there and they wouldn't let us take the oxygen for the night even though the supply company was closed for the day. "

"My husband is at Tierra Pines Center. It's very good. The staff seems pretty good. I haven't been there personally, since he had been there since the pandemic. I've seen his room on the phone when I call him, and it looks pretty good, clean, and painted, and it has a lot of light and a window. I think he's eating all the time because he has not lost weight, but I haven't seen how the food is. He has Alzheimer's. They have a care-plan meeting that you can request ahead of time, and they all get together for a conference call with you. The only thing I have to complain about is the phone system is awful. It's very hard to get a hold of the patient, because either it's a very old system, or they don't have a phone where the nurses are in the locked unit. Other than that, I don't have any problems. The facility looks good, but I haven't been inside the place. They provide medical doctors. There haven't been any issues. It's a very good place. I think my husband feels comfortable. I know the nurses are busy. I think nobody there is picking up the phone like they should because they're all doing something else -- they were occupied and busy. From the beginning, they have been taking care of him and if something happens, they will call me. The other day, he needed a change of medication because he was getting a little bit agitated. He has Medicaid, and they haven't asked me for anything."

"I have nothing but praise for Sabal Palms Health Care Center. The facility is clean and the care is superb. From the day my parent was admitted they were treated with care and you could tell the staff was their to do their jobs and they did them well. Mom had some "issues" with the food initially but the dietary manager stepped in and things were resolved quickly. The therapy team was great: very caring and professional; in fact everyone was caring and professional. Everyone from nursing and Social Services to Housekeeping were friendly and always smiling, which helped my Mom keep her spirits up. Communication was good and within about two weeks I was invited to a care conference where my Mom and I were informed of her progress in therapy. Mom was eventually discharged home and has shared with her friends how pleased she was with the care and suggested that if they ever need a rehab center, they should definitely go to Sabal Palms. "
