Bay Pines VA Health did a very nice job with my father. They had nurses and occupational therapists. Its physical appearance was good, but it was more institutional. They should improve on the food. The staff was very friendly, thorough, and available. It's older, but it's so clean. It's a community living center, not so much a nursing home, and it offered bingo, trivia, and exercise classes. You could go and enjoy whether you're immobile or mobile.

My grandpa stayed in Bay Pines. It was all males livingg there because it's a VA facility. The men just sat around all day, appearing bored and sad. One day I went to visit my grandpa and I found him wandering down the street alone, terrified and confused, several blocks away from the nursing home. The staff did not know he was missing. He had gone through several doors and elevators without being noticed. Otherwise I guess the place was okay, seemed clean and the staff seemed nice enough. It's in a nice location at least, near the ocean.

The Bay Pines Nursing Home is an outstanding facility located on the grounds of the campus of the Bay Pines Medical Center and Regional Office. Bay Pines Nursing Home is on Boca Ciega Bay and the Gulf of Mexico in the Tampa Bay Area. The facility is modern, clean and well maintained. Residents are allowed to fish and enjoy the bay that is next to the nursing home. There are many recreation and educational activities available on campus for residents and family members. The nursing home staff are professional and well trained. They are attentive to the residents and provide an array of services to maximize healthy activities for residents.
