Memory Care Communities in Clearwater, FL

"My dad is living in Seasons Belleair. It has been great. They're very good. It's super clean, too. They keep my dad very entertained. They take him out all the time to tons of different activities. It's the most active community that we have found. I've never tasted the food, but it looks good. They have a chef that tries to cater to everybody's likes and stuff. They do a really good job. I would put everything at the top. It's good. They've been amazing. The facility itself is very clean and very open. There's a nice outside area to walk. Everything's great. They have a great-sized room. This facility is top-notch. Their activities are super. They do concerts every night. They have stuff going on all the time. They take them out bowling, and they also play tetherball. It's crazy how different it is there. It's wonderful."

"Everything at the Oaks was very nice and very clean. It was a beautiful place, and every single room had a view of the water. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was like a very nice hotel. "

"I'm in an independent living place right now here. This place has a wonderful reputation. It is physically beautiful. They offer lots of activities and amenities. They have good people, both the staff and the residents. "

"I toured Angels Senior Living at Dunedin. It's a very small community, and the whole unit is memory care. The rooms were very nice. I was only able to tour a single room. It was very nicely furnished and quite spacious for one person. The staff who gave the tour was very knowledgeable, very attentive, and interacted well with the patients as we were going through the facility because several of them came up to him and wanted contact. He was very caring and helped them. The eating area was nice. It was a larger dining room, and it had a patio that opened off and led out to the enclosed garden area, so it was nice."

"My mom moved into Bayside Terrace. So far, it's been great. She's only been in there four days, but at this point, they've been wonderful, and they've taken good care of her. She is happier than the last place she was in another state. My mother loved the food, but I have not tried it. They provide games and do competitions like door decorating for the holidays. They do chair fitness, bingo, and cards. They also offer some outings to local shops. The room is for two people, it is fine. She's not used to having a roommate, but they're working it out. They've just gone through a renovation, so they're painting and laying floors, and everything looks nice. We chose it because of the airiness of the community, the friendliness of the residents, the helpfulness of the staff, and the cleanliness."

"Sunstar Village is an awful place. It's small. I think they have like maybe 30 people. They can only handle up to 50, but they are about half full, and I can see why. The place is old and dingy, and they have very limited staff. I found that the security is not very good. They did offer me a private room with a nice bathroom, but everything is older. I met the owner. He was in his office, and he's a young guy. It needs a lot of help. It's pretty run-down. I saw a lot of residents in wheelchairs slumped over. I saw that in every room. I didn't find it to be very inviting or anything like that. The staff was kind of distracted, like she didn't really want to give the tour, even though I scheduled it. She obviously forgot because I showed up and she asked me why I was there. She was nice enough, but not upbeat, just kind of going through the motions. All I saw was the outside place where the smokers go. They have an activity room that doubles as a dining room. They don't have a separate wing for memory care. They mix them all up."

"My mother has been a resident at Arden Courts, Palm Harbor since December 2011. I can honestly say that I haven't seen her so happy in years. The staff is so caring -- always ready to help in any way possible. The facility is clean and the decor is bright and cheery. In additon, I am kept advised of any issues concerning my mom (fortunately, everything has been going well). For the first time in years, I have 100% peace of mind in regard to her well-being. "

"I went to Freedom Square of Seminole. I think they offer a meal a day. They have activities. If you want to walk, they have a like a bistro or cafe you could go to. The apartments are lovely. There's a nice kitchenette where you can prepare your own meals. They had a range, with an oven and refrigerator. They have a bathroom that has a step-in shower with safety bars. The staff took her time. She showed us a couple of the units and took her time showing us the facilities, the pool, the fitness center, or the gym, as they call it. And I think there was an auditorium in there where they had different events. Again, excellent, very, very nice. The grounds were well-maintained, the buildings were clean, and inside where the central areas were, were all very nice."

"I went to tour here. It was nice, but not someplace that we would put my mom because it was sort of dingy. It wasn't dirty, it's just not bright and cheery, and the residents that were there were not people that she would connect with. It felt like there were a lot of men, and I just didn't get a good feeling of the place. But it wasn't that it wasn't clean or that they weren't pleasant, because they were. They just got bought out and they just put a new roof in and they're doing some painting and they're going to remodel the rooms and they're putting new flooring in. So they're going in the right direction. It just wasn't a big enough community. The person who gave the tour was very informative, she was very pleasant, she was just good and I liked her. They don't have enough activities from what I gathered from the staff. It sounded like they do a lot of things, but not really anything my mom would be interested in, so it wouldn't work for her. They just bring entertainment in and they do activities with them."

"Arden Courts was wonderful, and I really loved it. However, it was way too far away from my home. They have four different types of bungalows with separate dining rooms. Dana, the lady who toured us, was very nice. The residents were in a room sitting and singing. "

"They were very good at Inspired Living at Tampa. I sat with the head nurse and the sales girl there, they were very cordial, and very knowledgeable, and they presented themselves really well. You would feel comfortable with them. My wife is somewhat difficult, but I feel comfortable with her being there. If things don't work out, I would give them a shot. It's a lot closer, too. The facility looked very nice, and from what I saw, it seemed very presentable."

"The Goldton at St. Petersburg was my favorite out of every single one that I saw. Adrian was very knowledgeable about everything. He knew what was going on. He was very pleasant. That was my number one place. Since my father can get Medicaid, then I will be able to put him maybe into that place. There were people on the floors, which was nice. There were med people and charge nurses on each floor that we went to. The dining room was beautiful inside. The place smelt clean. It was nice. My sister and I both liked that place a lot."

"I was very impressed by how knowledgeable there were at Inspired Living at Ivy Ridge. They're strictly memory care, and what was nice was they broke the memory care into 2 groups so the higher-functioning ones could be together and the lower-functioning ones could be together. My aunt would have the opportunity to talk to people, but there are too many people, and she gets overwhelmed with that. "

"I loved the location of American House St. Petersburg. I loved the newness of it. It didn't seem to have a lot of residents there at the time. Maybe they were in their rooms or going out. I was impressed with the newness and cleanliness of it, but the price was too expensive. The dining area was excellent. Everything looked excellent because it was so new."
