My wife moved into Bayside Terrace. I did a tour, walked through the place, and I got to see everything in action, what the rooms look like, and so forth. It was a nice tour; it wasn't rushed, but there was no opportunity to ask a lot of questions until the end, which was fine. I looked at several of the rooms, and the choices of the rooms are very specific. They have apartments that have a bathroom, a bedroom, and a sitting room, and they have a studio apartment, which is a large bedroom with a sitting area and a private bathroom. Then they have the third option, which is where you share a room with someone. We got to see each of those. What they didn't tell you is you're renting the room, but you have to bring your own furniture, and it's not even on the website. They've got some stuff that people left, and we could use that, so they put some stuff in there, a bed, a dresser, and a nightstand. Other than that, the move was easy. They're very accommodating. What I like about the place is that it's been renovated, it looks brand new, and everybody smiles. All the helpers smile, no matter what you're doing. A lot of the residents, too, are pretty happy. Of all the four places that I visited, it just felt right. It felt perfect for my wife. We got the studio apartment, and it's a good, spacious bedroom. The thing is, the prices are the same no matter which one you buy. They have a limited number of private rooms, but the studio apartment is the most common one. They have an activity room which has a TV. You can have a TV in your room if you want it, but you've got to bring your own. They'll hook it up for you with whatever their TV carrier is. They have a TV room. They have an extensive library of books, and people play games there. They also have a separate dining room for the memory care unit that also turns into a game room. They build puzzles and others. There are nice, quiet sitting areas. If you just want to sit and look outside, they have a nice courtyard. They have a beautiful garden just for the memory care unit, because it's got to be secure. You go out on this porch off the dining room, and you follow this path around it. It is a beautiful garden of beautiful flowers, trees, and plants. It's well kept and very nice. They have other activities where they have magicians and performers come in once a week. They have a nice thing that if you want to eat with your family member or my wife, if it's lunch, I pay $5. If it's dinner, it's $7. You just have to call ahead and reserve the meal. She loves the food. It's very clean, well-kept, and kept up-to-date. There's always someone cleaning the hallways. It is a good deal.

I like that Bayside Terrace had a full social calendar. Every day is jam-packed. The facility was very clean. The administrators were very kind and attentive. I got to look at a sample menu, and the menu sounded good and enticing.

We toured Bayside Terrace yesterday. When I walked in, it was nice. However, they're being bought out by somebody and a new company is taking them over, so they're renovating, and there was a lot of construction going on. It's an old hotel, and it's three levels, so it's really big. The person who assisted me was fantastic. She was helpful, informative, and knowledgeable. She seemed upbeat and she liked her job. She knew everybody that we walked by, and everybody said hello to us. It was a great place. For activities, they have bingo and movies. They have a library and a beauty salon. They do one field trip a week. They're open 24 hours for visiting. If I want to go see my mother, I can go and see her at any time.

I visited Bayside Terrace, and I thought it was a nice place. It's clean, seems like a peaceful environment. The person who gave the tour's name was Elizabeth, she's very professional and knowledgeable. They had a courtyard, they had activity rooms and they talked about shopping trips. There were vans for taking people to appointments and things like that.

My mom moved into Bayside Terrace. So far, it's been great. She's only been in there four days, but at this point, they've been wonderful, and they've taken good care of her. She is happier than the last place she was in another state. My mother loved the food, but I have not tried it. They provide games and do competitions like door decorating for the holidays. They do chair fitness, bingo, and cards. They also offer some outings to local shops. The room is for two people, it is fine. She's not used to having a roommate, but they're working it out. They've just gone through a renovation, so they're painting and laying floors, and everything looks nice. We chose it because of the airiness of the community, the friendliness of the residents, the helpfulness of the staff, and the cleanliness.

Bayside Terrace was very bright and welcoming. I liked the fact that there was music playing on the floor, which gave a cheerful atmosphere to the place. The staff was excellent too, and I thought the amenities were great. They had a nice outdoor area, but they just did not have a swimming pool.
