"Of all the places I've visited, I like Marquette House the best. My dad has been there for over three months now. He is a private room. It's small, but it is just perfect for him. I like the staff there, and I like how they were caring for the residents that are there. The management staff works with me for be being to afford the facility. The nursing staff and the assistants call me if there are any problems. They offer different kinds of activities like they take them to the stores or have some crafts there. Overall, it has been very good. "

"My mother was looking at a place close to the area, and we found American House. I saw there were interactions with some of the staff, like they were listening music and stuff. I noticed there were residents working on crossword puzzles, and some were playing cards in the lobby. "

"My mom is 88 and she just loves living at StoryPoint. Her room is very spacious, well laid out and very clean. The interaction with the staff is constant and everyone is always friendly. There is in-house medical care which was very important to us. The food is very good with many daily options and the Head Chef and staff are always doting on you."

"Sunrise of Northville was great. It was very nice. The seniors there always seemed like they were busy doing something. They have programs that they enjoyed. They're on top of the care and the needs that had to be met for all the seniors living there. It was very well kept, clean, and well organized. They had a lot of activities for the residents. They had a salon, movies, and a library. They're located close to shopping centers and hospitals."

"My mom has been here since April and for several months I was extremely happy with the facility, the staff was great when it came to the care of the residents. The only problem I had in the beginning was missing clothes and shoes. Recently the staff and administrators have changed and not for the better, I don’t understand why the change because the old staff was the best, no one is hardly available to address my concerns and the nursing staff is not as professional like the old staff which I wish could come back. At this point I’m looking for a new facility especially since they have increased their fees $200.00 and their services are no longer worth it. The only thing that is consistent from the time my mom moved in would be the activity director Bridgit, she is amazing and has my mother very active. It saddens me to see this beautiful place and staff in the beginning to change so drastically to the point I’m removing my mother from her comfort zone but I can’t keep her there. We had a life scare and Jatonya noticed she wasn’t breathing right called ems which I was told had it been any later she wouldn’t be here today. She is no longer there and that’s sad she was excellent at her job and I don’t feel this new staff are as attentive as the old staff, while I visit no one comes and check on her which they never know when we visit for this unhappiness I feel now she’s going to leave as soon as I find another happy place. I’m so sad to do this to my mom but the only thing to keep her there would be to return the old staff completely"

"My brother and my mom were not crazy about it, but I loved Livonia Senior Living. They offer everything you need, from just a little bit of assistance to full assistance. They had medical and they had a central dining area. The people were very nice -- could have been more helpful. We’ve convinced her to live with us, but if I could get her to live in a facility, that was our first option anyway. The rooms are nice. They had studios and they had 1-bedroom units. They were remodeling some of it while we were there, and it was very nice. "

"It was a very nice place, and the people were nice. However, I didn’t get to see the memory care unit, which is what I needed and have acquired if I was going to put my loved one in that type of facility. They did show me a unit, and they said it would be comfortable to whatever would be in the memory care unit, but I didn’t get to see the part that I needed to see. It was a self-contained room that included a bathroom within the room. It had a separate bathroom, but it was within that unit, and other than that, it was just a large room. It was community dining, and it looked-like it was inviting; however again, I am not sure if the people that would be a part of the memory care part of the facility would have eaten in the community dining room. The place did not meet my needs because I didn’t really get to see what I was looking for, but overall it was a very nice place. The residents that were partaking of the community dining seemed like they were well adjusted. "

"It was beautiful and we loved it. Mom loved it, and it felt like everything about it was just perfect. The room that we saw was like being at home. It was just very, very welcoming, comfortable, and inviting. It blew me away. It was just really nice. Regarding the options that they offered as far as furnishings, we loved that you had the option to bring your own things, or they could provide them, or you could mix and match. That really was a huge plus. The way the dining was set up was extremely convenient. You didn't have to go downstairs to one dining room. Every floor had different dining rooms for different sections of the building. They had little stuffed animals that they can hold that are stress-relief animals. They let Mom hold one for a good portion of the tour, and it was just really wonderful. We were able to see some people out on the back patio playing bingo, and we got to see the library that they have where you can just sit in a nice, serene area and read. We saw the recreation room where they do their exercise. There were several activity options for her so she wouldn't have to do the same thing every day."

"Vibrant Life Superior Township was quite nice. The people that I met there and the people that I talked to were very kind and very helpful. I visited the memory care and it was clean and pleasant. It looked like the residents were well taken care of. It has a nice outdoor courtyard. The gentleman that is in charge was very kind and very nice. It was not the most updated/modern facility, but it was nice."

"Best Assisted Living center ever. The facility is a home, with 6 hospital beds. Dora makes the residents and family visiting feel like family. My sister had stage four cirrhosis of the liver. We came to Blessed Assisted Living for Hospice care. My sister was always clean and feed. I told my children if I ever need Hospice, Re-Habilitation, or Assisted living please take me here. "I did a tour of Lakeside Assurance Assisted Living. It was a private residence converted into a facility. It has a total of four residents; there were two that were there and there were two open rooms. It was laid out well for a conversion, and it had a common area that was set up that was very roomy. The facility was laid out nicely. There was a part of the facility that was still being developed into a guest room that was under development, but the rest of the place was set up nicely. It was very clean, and it had a cook that prepared the meals, taking into consideration dietary requirements. The administrator that we met with, Brenda, was very detailed in explaining why she started the facility. Her mother had dementia, and she was struggling with having her in a big facility. She decided to develop this, so she would know about her mother's care and everything. She had a connection with a physician and a podiatrist who would visit regularly. The meals and the laundry in the room are all included. Then it would accommodate my sister's furniture, so that was nice. I think she had to have familiar surroundings. I think they could accommodate both assisted living and memory care, but right at that time, it seemed like the residents that were there were dementia patients. We only met with Brenda, and she's seemed very compassionate, caring, and concerned about details about my sister. What kind of activity level she was? Is she verbal at all? Did she interact with people? I thought that was very positive. I think she would be engaged with my sister. It's still under construction partially, but the part that we saw, she set it up very specific to taking care of the residents."
