"It is very nice and very clean, and had very friendly staff. The food is not the best, but it is not bad, and my dad really likes it. They have a lot of activities, but Dad doesn’t really do that. The dining area is spacious and very attractive. I like the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness. "

"Harmony At Elkhart is a brand-new community. It's just down the street from my parents' house and it is great. There are minimal residents, but our concern is if we move mom in there and she runs out of money, we have to move her out. As long as you've got money to afford the cost of living, it's a gorgeous building. It has great apartments and wonderful staff that we met. They have daily activities. They have snacks all the time for the residents. Their menus are posted. They have light housekeeping for the residents and laundry weekly. The staff said they had elevators at least on each end. It was three stories. They have a billiard room and a game room that families could take their family members into. They had studio apartments, one-bedroom apartments, and two-bedroom apartments. Every one of the staff members was friendly. The cleaning ladies who were in the hallways were saying hi and greeting us. The sales rep that took us around was great. We didn't meet an unfriendly person. They were nice. It's brand new, so it's still clean. It was presented well and it's well taken care of. The landscaping crews were outside doing some work when we were there."

"My uncle is in Skaggs Assist Living and he's very happy. It was very clean and looks very comfortable. The people are friendly and warm. They made up a nice room for my uncle. They have very comfortable chairs for them to watch TV in and my uncle says the food is good. They also took a group to the fair, which is pretty cool."

"My wife is at Birch Meadows. And she's been in there for about a year. She has to be cared for completely. She is not capable. It's not assisted living, it is 100% care, almost nursing care I guess, probably. I'm very, very pleased. I've had enough experience with them, and I completely 100% content with my decision to place my wife there. They've been there a long time, and they're very caring, and just very sensitive, giving me information on my wife's condition, and what I can do to help. They provide a lot of feedback on what's going on inside. So, I am very, very pleased with the staff. Starting Wednesday, they'd even locking down further, I guess. They don't want people to come. But I haven't really been inside that facility, since the time my wife has been down there, it's a terrible situation, it really is terrible, terrible situation for all the people, for senior people right now. It's killing them, it's really bad. They had someone before the virus lockdown took place, they had someone that would come in, and play the piano regularly. Then they had a pastor that would come in, and give a Sunday morning church. And different entertainers would come in, and they had a magician, and they had a couple of singing groups that would come in several times a month. But all of that went right out the window with Covid. The food, I have several positive comments from my wife down there about the food. And she's a pretty fussy eater. The activities, there aren't any really to be honest, I think internally, I think they do try to entertain them. The staff tries to entertain them, but there's no one permitted to go inside and entertain them or do anything special. "

"Greencroft Middlebury is closer to us. But they only had a studio available. The facility is small. There are only 12 residents in total and 12 rooms available. It's easier to get around. It's brand new, so it's clean. They have activities, but the area outside where they could walk is not private. The staff members were all great. We talked to the cook, and she was right there preparing their meals. They have games, movie nights, and a rec room. It has restaurants nearby. They have a grocery store. It's more like a small local downtown shopping area."

"My father has moved into Drews Place Of Coldwater 1. The caring nurses are what I like the best. I have no complaints with them. They are very helpful. They help the residents any chance they get. The structure of the building is very nice. I have seen the residents play cards and do craft projects. The room is very spacious, very roomy, and clean. It feels like home. They always greet me and they know me, so it's great."

"I went to Grand Vista Of Marshall. They have an excellent staff and excellent nursing care. They have the standard amenities, they have activities, when they were able to they were bringing in different musicians, they have a movie night, and game day. They have activities every single day, exercise classes, they do breakfast, lunch, and dinner, laundry, and all of that. The staff is excellent, very attentive, and communicative with the family members. The place is very well kept, and each resident has their own individual rooms. It feels like a big home."

"My mother-in-law moved into Green Oaks of Goshen. They've been very welcoming and accommodating. It's a low-income housing. They were very helpful to us during the Medicaid process. It's brand new, so it's clean and in good condition. The one thing I have been dissatisfied with a little bit is the maintenance. She's had a couple of maintenance issues and they haven't been tended to as quickly as they should have. The staff is kind and attentive. The food is fine. They offer bingo, they offer trips to the store, play cards, they have UNO, they had Thanksgiving dinner, a luau, and trick or treating. The residents passed out candy to the neighborhood children. The rooms are very spacious, and the layout is good."

"Greencroft Goshen is a fairly large complex with verything from independent living to nursing care. We also have assisted living and health care. I have been living here quite some time and it has been tolerable. Its an OK place to live. There's a community center and there are physical activities. We don't have swimming on campus, but we have a lifelong learning situation along with the nearby university, so we have classes in many different things in health, energy, and for fun. We recently had a series called Festival of Carols, which we have from Thanksgiving into Christmas. The food is pretty good, but some of it is government food programs, which are not very good but are fairly flavorful, tolerable, and reasonably healthy."

"Mom has moved to Cottage Garden. The people are really good and caring. They only have six residents. There are two caregivers there all the time, so the ratio of caregivers to residents is high. It's like a home setting. It's a big house, so it's not like a lot of the care places where you walk out of your room and you're in a hallway. Mom walks out of her room, and she's right in the kitchen, and the other side of the kitchen is the living room. It's set up nice. There's a lot of individual care. She's got a full bath off the bedroom. She's got a TV that they installed, and she got a hospital bed. The room is average-sized. She can help with the cooking if she wants to. They have games and knitting. They have an outdoor patio where she can birdwatch. They have a lot of feeders out and stuff like that. It was a little expensive."

"I toured Waterford Crossing. The difference with them is that you buy a duplex, and when you leave, you sell it. Whereas the others, you kind of buy in, but you don't get your money back if you have to move, so that's a big difference. It was more out in the country. Everything seemed nice, friendly, and clean. The staff who toured me around was very nice. It was more like a little village with little houses and stuff that you bought into. It's like a little community and everybody has yards and stuff."

"Waterford Crossing is a very well-rounded assisted living center. I really like the way in which it helps keep friends and family connected to its residents. I especially enjoy the Happy Hour they have every Friday (friends and family as well as residents can attend)! Most of the staff is friendly and helpful, though we have had a few "gruff" interactions over the years - but not many. There are a lot of different activities for residents, from social activities like playing cards, to exercise groups, to worship services, and more. The residents also seem to enjoy the nearby elementary school, which often has the kids come in and do performances for the residents. The rooms are big and spacious, though it depends upon the number of rooms you choose. The building itself is relatively new and well lit, and some of the rooms have a great view of the pond out back. They also have a "driver" who can take residents to appointments, church, or other places in town. About the biggest problem we've ever had with Waterford Crossing is with the carpeting. It was too thick and it caused my friend to tire more quickly when walking around in the hallways. She even tripped and fell once because of it. Overall it's a great place for the money. "

"My dad stayed at Greenleaf Health Campus for rehab. It's older, and the rooms are not as nice as where he is now. The physical therapy department there lacks a little bit, I don't think they're very strong. The help is more abundant compared to where he is now. The kitchen is well staffed. They are a lot more helpful than the facility where he is in. They have great activities for their residents. They bring people in for entertainment, and do all kinds of activities and offer transportation. My dad's room was very small, and the TV didn't work properly. It's an older establishment. I sat with my dad when he ate and several of the residents said they didn't have much taste, or it wasn't that great. The staff were very friendly, and the facility is more adequately staffed."
