Nursing Home Communities in Lagrange, IN

We are a small 36 bed facility that is secured for alzheimers and dementia care. We have a home like environment with home like meals offered to our residents. With the small environment our residents feel like they are at home and get around the clock care to meet their needs.

"I thought that the staff should have been a bit more caring with the patients. The atmosphere was not very positive, but you cannot expect much from that out of an assisted living facility. I think they should have had more activities for the patients such as music and movies or other things that they could do easily. "

"They are a FOR PROFIT place... and they will deny services unless they make a profit. They are always understaffed after 5pm and in weekends. They use the names of past employees to make the schedule look staffed but really understaff on purpose to save money. They won't document anything negative that happens to your loved one. If your loved one has ANY mental disabilities, DO NOT PUT THEM HERE!!! If your loved one requires a helper to go to appointments, they will not allow staff to go. They do not offer special diets, like for a diabetic diet. They offer alcohol events for residents, even if the resident is a recovering alcoholic or if a guardian denies alcohol use for them. The State has written them up multiple times for not providing a call light, not answering call lights in a timely manner, turning the call light off without helping them, and sexual misconduct between patients. Food is not served warm. So much more to say but not enough space to type. Do not use any nursing home owned by Atrium."

"We did find dad a facility and he is at Courtyard Healthcare. It's a great facility. He was familiar with the place because he volunteered there for about 10 years. He knew all of the staff there so it was like moving one home to another and that went very well. He also likes the food there. The care has been very good. They are really conscientious about the care of their residents and they keep me informed on any kind of changes that he thinks that has come up. They give me a call right away no matter what time – day or night. They have an activity director and we have known here for a long time. They have activities published in each room. "

"Provena Sacred Heart was really nice. I would recommend it to anybody. They had activities for people, and they interacted with the people. They really had nice private apartments and nice kitchens. The people working there were really friendly, not just to us, but to the people living there. It was some place that I would want my parents to go to, but if I ever needed it, I would want to there. "

"My mother is now in rehab at Greencroft Healthcare. So far, they're very caring. It has a family-like atmosphere. The staff has been excellent working with her. We're just extremely happy all the way around. They have a lot of things, but she does not do any of those right now. I can see that they are available for use like games and puzzles and they have books and colored pencils to do adult coloring, and they have reading. They have a multitude of things that she can do, but she's not been able to do that yet. They have a beauty shop and I know that my mom has used it and has been very happy with that. We've been very, very pleased with the caring atmosphere. They treat her like she's their grandmother. It's very clean there. Their staff is very diligent about keeping the areas picked up. I would give them high marks for that. I feel like all of those facilities are way overpriced, but they are very comparable and we had to find a place that accepted a Medicare waiver and they do. We're very pleased to have such a quality place of care and we're pleased with the financial end of it also. I have never had the food, but my mom likes it. She had to move from independent care to 24-hour nursing care."

"My father was a resident of this facility and they were more than a 5 Star Rehab Center. There is so much positive energy at this facility among the staff and other residents. You can truly tell they care about each and every person that lives there and they care about their families as well. I was kept up to date on the progress of my father, and now he is back home with my Mom living a very healthy and happy life thanks to the therapist and outstanding nursing staff. God Bless you all!! "I toured Waterford Crossing. The difference with them is that you buy a duplex, and when you leave, you sell it. Whereas the others, you kind of buy in, but you don't get your money back if you have to move, so that's a big difference. It was more out in the country. Everything seemed nice, friendly, and clean. The staff who toured me around was very nice. It was more like a little village with little houses and stuff that you bought into. It's like a little community and everybody has yards and stuff."

"I was a resident here for a couple weeks after I had foot surgery. The staff was wonderful and very accommodating. My daughter has worked here for many years also and loves working here. I would highly recommend this facility for anyone looking to place their loved one either for rehab or for long term placement. The rooms are two people to a room and the heat and the air conditioning is controlled in the rooms by the residents. The rehab department was great and they tried to reach all of my goals to get me back home sooner than what I thought I would,"

"The facility is the better of the two that I have visited. One thing I like about it is that it is clean. Some nursing homes that you visit have distinct smells. This nursing home always smells clean. The staff has always been friendly to me when I visit there. Even the staff that does not know me are always willing to help if I need anything. Miller's dining program is another reason I like this nursing home. They have a program called premiere dining which is more like a restaurant than a nursing home kitchen. They make a main meal and an alternate meal, but if the residents don't like either of those they can request anything they want a hambuger, salad, cold cut sandwhich. The best thing is the residents who are there are happy, at least the majority is. "

"My husband was in Riverview Manor for rehab. We liked the community. It was out in the country but easy to get to. It's hard to get out of, though; you need to have someone let you out, which is OK because they need security. They had a beautiful courtyard. I feel that the people were very caring and always kept me informed. My husband couldn't stand up, but they had the facilities to move him, and apparatus to harness him and transfer him from one place to another. I thought the food was good. They would bring it into his room for him since he preferred to eat in his room. The place was very clean. I was very pleased with it."

"I toured Miller's Merry Manor. The staff was very helpful and very friendly. It's very clean. The rooms were very nice and all about the same size. The staff was very nice, gave me all the information that I needed, and was very informative. The dining area was clean."

"Greenleaf Living Center was very good. The gentleman that talked with us was very friendly and helpful. The facility was absolutely beautiful. I was really happy with it. "
