"I have a good friend in this facility. The building is clean and has some very nice visiting areas. The rooms are typical 2 bed rooms with 1 by the window and 1 closer to the door. The staff is very good and friendly. She recently had a a serious surgery on her neck and the staff has been very attentive to her needs."

"When I walked in there was music over the speakers through out playing softly. The environment smelled sterile and I never have liked that hospital smell. When I have visited other nursing homes at other times I have usually heard another resident moaning in a chair, drooling or doing something else that was disturbing. For the first time ever when I walked in I didn't hear any of that and I think it could have been due to the soft music playing over the system that calms the residents. I found the nurses to be very helpful and the entire staff seemed to enjoy their job. This facility also has excursions for the higher functioning residents to leave the building and go out shopping and do other things. While my grandfather would not be able to join, I thought this was an excellent idea. I would recommend this facility to other people. "

"My mom is at Laurels of Galesburg. She is doing well. She is in memory care because she has dementia and they take good care of them. My mom's room is clean. They have a mat because she falls down a lot. The atmosphere is nice. In terms of activities, she does music and bingo. They have music a lot and they have people come in and sing and stuff like that. She enjoys their activities. The food looks and smells good, too. Overall, so far, Laurels of Galesburg is really nice. The staff members are really good. They keep my mom busy and occupied."

"We chose Thornapple Manor for my grandfather because this is a nursing facility with memory care. They are an Eden community which means that the staff is specially trained to care for the elderly. It's like an additional certificate that they have. They include the family, they care for him in a specific memory care facility so that they have activities like bingo, games, music therapy, and art therapy. And they try to include families in those activities as well. They have an exercise facility that he can use. They also have a massaging spa tub that he can use. They've been excellent. They are expensive but my grandpa is well taken care of, so the value of that is priceless and they do a great job."

"Eaton County Medical Care looks very new. It was fabulous, very clean, modern and the staff were excellent. My dad got rehab twice a day. He had a broken hip and he did very well with it. It was a great experience. "

"Little cold but tolerable. Everyone was excellent in their job field.Food was very good even on the days I didn't feel like eating, it was great. The activities were great. I highly recommend Laurels to anyone."

"My mom stayed at Heartland Health Care Center. It's very nice and the staff was very nice as well. They did everything we expected, so we were satisfied. She went to rehab -- which she needed -- and it was very beneficial. They have exercising. Mom was only there for a week. They make your comfortable and they're very accommodating. The place was well-kept, so we were pleased. The price was also reasonable."

"As I walked into Friendship Village I noticed it was very clean and very wall taken care of. There seemed to be plenty of staff, and they were all extremely friendly. As I walked down the hallway to her room, it was neat and didn't have the normal nursing home smell. She was able to have her own room, and it was a decent size with a decent bathroom. The dining area was kept clean and was huge. She always seemed comfortable and always talked about how the staff was taking wonderful care of her. "

"Medilodge of Westwood is very kind and did a lot of work with my mom's PT and OT. They have worked with her even on the weekends for therapy. They were very kind when she would have a setback and get sent back to the hospital, they would take her back again. That happened three times. They have card games, art projects, hymns, and broadcasts. My mom thought the food was good, too. It's just not as updated and quite as clean as the other facility they have in another area."

"My dad stayed in The Springs at the Fountains for five days. I have mixed feelings about them. They care about him, but they don't seem to have a way to handle if he has an outburst. He tried to hit a staff member a couple of times, and their response to that was to automatically send him to ER. Then, the ER referred him to a geriatric psychiatric unit. That's where he is right now, so they can regulate his meds. I have no idea if they have normal protocol, if they're supposed to be equipped to handle patients that aren't perfectly behaved, or if this is exactly what they do. There were two patients to a room. It's not a very big place. They basically can maneuver it all in a wheelchair. They just go up and down the hallways. They're not really equipped to have someone sit with him. It was clean, and the people were nice enough and were very courteous when we were there. "

"I toured this facility with my family and was very impressed with it in general. The facilities were very clean and well maintained, and didn't have the feel of a hospital like many facilities do. The therapy in this facility was very impressive, they were very knowledgeable, and like all of the other staff, they were very respectful. The furniture in the building adds to the homey feel, and small touches, such as a salon, help add to the impressiveness of the facility. Tendercare also offers short-term care, so if you are going out of town but don't want to leave an elderly family member alone, they can stay at Tendercare for the short term. Short term patients receive all of the benefits of the facilities, and it is a comfortable stay for patients while being a comforting environment for family members, who know that they are leaving their loved ones in good hands. "It has been two weeks since my mom moved in to Arbor Manor. It is a nice facility. The people are nice and caring. They have daily church meetings and cook outs. The only complaint my mom has is that she would prefer to have physical therapy rather than occupational therapy. But they have been great and very good to my mom. "
