"My Dad was a resident in memory care at Woodlawn Meadows for a year until he passed a couple weeks ago. From the moment we arrived to have a look, we all felt this was the place. Staff were welcoming and the facility was clean, cheerful and inviting. On drop off day, the administrator gave Dad a tour while we quickly readied his room with familiar items, put photos on the wall, etc. Then Dad was shown his room and was told he would be staying. We were pleasantly surprised how smoothly it went. That is not to say Dad always understood or remembered, particularly in the early days when he was looking for the exit or trying to leave w/ Mom, but staff would redirect w/ kindness and it eventually became "home". The staff provide more than just basic care to residents. They demonstrate genuine warmth, love and patience, even when juggling many tasks or when Dad was upset. Sometimes, staff would do special things well outside of normal tasks - one staff member made Dad a personalized ceramic mug reflective of his service in the U.S. Navy as a gift for Veteran's Day. When the end was near, they showed special care to our family as well. When the time has come to make the difficult decision to place your loved one in a memory care facility, Woodlawn Meadows is a great option."
