"My tour at The Cortland of Northview was very good and very thorough. I was concerned because they showed me double beds in a room. They said that that's what my friend could afford, and maybe it is, but I'm looking for someplace he can get a studio or something. Everything was beautiful. It was a very well-kept facility. They had a gym, and they said there were lots of activities. I really like it except for the double bed. It was a very nice community. I visited it several times before. The person who gave the tour was very thorough and very good. She was very informative and very personable. She knows what she was talking about. The outside was nice."

"It was another really nice community that I enjoyed. As I toured it, there was a patient coming down the hall. The person leading me a tour stopped and talked to her and asked how she was doing and what was going on. The patient said, "Oh, I’m having a little trouble, and I was going to go down and see if the nurse was in her station.” The person I was with said, “Why don’t you just push your alert button that you’re wearing?” So, she pushed her button while we talked, and in a minute or two, the nurse was there asking what was going on. "

"I thought the environment at Sunrise was very good. The staff was good. I liked more that they had availability. They have private rooms and shared rooms in the price listing. Their dining rooms were smaller. The people could go into the kitchen, or they could have something anytime they wanted. "

"I toured Commonwealth Senior Living at North Byron. It's a beautiful facility. It's close to a hospital here in the area. The gal that did the tour was very nice and informative. She provided all of the information that I needed. It was a nice visit. She offered me cookies. The ladies were all talking about their food, and they all seemed to be happy. I saw two residence rooms. They're very nice. It's very good and very spacious. It would be very nice for my mother."

"I saw independent and assisted living at Rivertown Ridge. It's new. The apartments were beautiful and up-to-date, had beautiful finishes, and a large kitchen. It was a nice facility. The staff was friendly and welcoming. They offer transportation to local stores and things like that. They don't have as many onsite amenities as some of the other places we looked at though."

"I loved everything about Boulder Creek Assisted Living & Memory Care. It was very nice, very homey, and very cozy. The only thing I don't like is they have a $4000 "welcome to our community" charge. Pricing was great, everything was great, but they want $4000 for kind of nothing. The person during the tour was great. Everybody, there was great, very friendly, answered all my questions, and took me around. I met the lady who's in charge there. It's a very nice place. I have no qualms about it. The rooms were great. Even the smallest room was quite large. The studio was quite large. I had no problem with the room either. It was very nicely set up and had a good view of the property and the woods. They said they had a lot of activities. I didn't see a lot. I saw they were having a happy hour when I was there and there was a bunch of people sitting there for the happy hour. The staff told me they had activities every day like bingo and stuff like that. There's a beauty salon and an exercise room. The staff seemed fabulous."

"I visited American House Jenison and toured their independent living. I liked the setting of it and the rooms. The people were very friendly and it looked like I could live there. I was very impressed with all of the staff. Nobody offended me or made me feel icky or anything like that. I just felt very comfortable with them. The place looked very clean and organized, and I didn't feel any kind of tension in the building. It just seemed like it was a place I could live in. Some of the rooms had small balconies, and others had a patio, which I appreciate very much because I love to sit outside on my deck. The atmosphere was very calm, and I didn't feel out of place or uncomfortable. It just seemed like a nice place to be."

"Byron Center Manor was good. The staff seemed very helpful and friendly. It was an older facility and that showed a little bit. I looked at the dining area, and it was very nice. Security was good. They had a list of activities that available, with something new every day. "

"My wife and I live in the enhanced neighborhood of the community. We appreciate our spacious apartment since we both have wheelchairs. We were no longer safe in our home, we are happy to be here. We love drumming and therapy, it keeps us busy. Recently, there was a Car show which is always our favorite!! Great place to be."

"My husband lived at Riley's Grove and he was given excellent care. The staff were friendly, professional, caring and tried their best to make him as comfortable and at home as possible. Heather and Laurie, especially stood out but everyone was super nice and I wish I could name them all here. I would not hesitate to recommend Riley's Grove to anyone."

"Hathaway Hills Assisted Living & Memory Care was very clean and very well-organized. We were impressed with the person that we talked to about potentially having my brother live there. The apartments were great. We have a concern with my brother being someone who can't keep his hands off of the equipment, so we wanted to make sure that he wouldn't be messing up other people's environment with the way he does things, and they understood that. We observed a sit-in-a-chair exercise activity with a beach ball that the participants seemed to enjoy. We viewed the whole facility and were very happy with it."
