"We're very happy with Grace Village. We were treated very well during our visit. It’s a very friendly place. There's a beauty parlor, a library, a carpentry shop, a bank, a chapel, a dining hall or dining room where you can go and eat if you want. Just about everything you need is right there. It’s a big, clean and well kept place; and there’s a doctor or nurse on duty all the time. It was a very pleasant experience, and that’s one of the reasons my husband and I will be moving in there as a couple. They have condos and apartments (and we'll be in the apartments). They have like a guest house where you can have people come and stay overnight and have their own room. There are just a lot of amenities. The other advantage is that if you progress and get worse, you can go right in to their nursing home area. "

"The staff here was pleasant and friendly. There was a lady at the desk to greet us when we walked in, and she introduced us to our guide. This guide was very knowledgeable about the facility and allowed us to tour a few of the rooms to see what my grandmother's options were. She even introduced us to some of the staff that my grandmother would be interacting with. Since it was close to lunchtime, the guide invited us to stay to try out their menu. The dining area was clean and cheerful with a list of the items being served that day. There was also a list of alternate options for people with special dietary needs. The food was good and cooked well. The only big turnoff happened when we left the facility. An employee was standing directly outside the door smoking a cigarette which we were able to smell strongly as we exited. Our guide told us this was not company policy and that the employee would be reprimanded for their unprofessional behavior. Other than this it appeared to be a great facility that we were seriously considering before my grandmother became too ill and had to be hospitalized. "

"The facility is the better of the two that I have visited. One thing I like about it is that it is clean. Some nursing homes that you visit have distinct smells. This nursing home always smells clean. The staff has always been friendly to me when I visit there. Even the staff that does not know me are always willing to help if I need anything. Miller's dining program is another reason I like this nursing home. They have a program called premiere dining which is more like a restaurant than a nursing home kitchen. They make a main meal and an alternate meal, but if the residents don't like either of those they can request anything they want a hambuger, salad, cold cut sandwhich. The best thing is the residents who are there are happy, at least the majority is. "

"My mother spent the last week of her life in a nursing home facility, Sonogee Estates. She was always dead-set against going into hospice so at the very end of her life my father had no choice but to send her to a facility that could care for her around the clock. Sonogee Estates was the obvious choice because it was less than a mile from his home.I visited my mother there three times before her death. My first visit was in the evening around seven o'clock. I remember walking into the facility with no idea where her room was, nor how to find her. My sister and I wandered down halls searching for someone, anyone, to lead us in the right direction. The hallways were dimly-lit because all the residents were tucked into their rooms for the night. We walked back and forth for about ten minutes before we finally spotted a nurse working at one of the nursing stations. We asked her how to find our mom's room and were relieved when she steered us to the correct wing of the facility. My mother was barely conscious for most of the week but the staff and nurses were extremely empathetic and tried to make her as comfortable as possible. They moved her roommate out of the room for her last few days so we could have privacy. Although my first impression was not great, each time I visited I noticed they treated her with dignity and respect. This was very comforting because my mother would have hated the fact that she was in a nursing home if she was conscious. The facility itself seems a bit rundown. For example, I noticed peeling wall paper behind the head of my mother's bed. The staff and nurses are very competent, though, and that is much more important than the outdated decor. "

"Upon driving into Timbercrest, one can't help be struck by the beauty and simplicity of the facility. Regardless of the season, the grounds are well-manicured and very well-taken care of. In the winter, there is never any ice or snow obstructing the walks; in the spring and summer, there are always flowers and planters placed everywhere. Although I have never had any prolonged contact with the staff, the facility always seems very-well staffed, and the receptionists on duty are always very friendly and eager to help. In fact, every employee that I pass by on trips in and out of the various corridors are always quick to say hello and ask me if there is anything I need.I think what impresses me most about Timbercrest is the facilities and amenities offered for residents. There is a large kitchen area that is available for residents to use for family reunions or other gatherings. In this area, there are also dart boards and pool tables. The exercise room is large and fully stocked with machines of all kinds, and there is a craft room, a hardware, and a variety of other specialized areas to entertain hobbies of all kinds. The grounds of Timbercrest -- those beyond the front door -- are beautiful. There are gardens and walking paths that are easily accessible for anyone in a wheelchair or motorized scooter, and this is where I have spent some of the best time with my aunt. "

"I toured Waterford Crossing. The difference with them is that you buy a duplex, and when you leave, you sell it. Whereas the others, you kind of buy in, but you don't get your money back if you have to move, so that's a big difference. It was more out in the country. Everything seemed nice, friendly, and clean. The staff who toured me around was very nice. It was more like a little village with little houses and stuff that you bought into. It's like a little community and everybody has yards and stuff."

"I did not like Miller's Manor. I thought it was old and I did not like the layout. The nurses were very nice, but the facility was awful. There's nothing comfortable looking, or feeling about it."

"My mother is now in rehab at Greencroft Healthcare. So far, they're very caring. It has a family-like atmosphere. The staff has been excellent working with her. We're just extremely happy all the way around. They have a lot of things, but she does not do any of those right now. I can see that they are available for use like games and puzzles and they have books and colored pencils to do adult coloring, and they have reading. They have a multitude of things that she can do, but she's not been able to do that yet. They have a beauty shop and I know that my mom has used it and has been very happy with that. We've been very, very pleased with the caring atmosphere. They treat her like she's their grandmother. It's very clean there. Their staff is very diligent about keeping the areas picked up. I would give them high marks for that. I feel like all of those facilities are way overpriced, but they are very comparable and we had to find a place that accepted a Medicare waiver and they do. We're very pleased to have such a quality place of care and we're pleased with the financial end of it also. I have never had the food, but my mom likes it. She had to move from independent care to 24-hour nursing care."

"We did find dad a facility and he is at Courtyard Healthcare. It's a great facility. He was familiar with the place because he volunteered there for about 10 years. He knew all of the staff there so it was like moving one home to another and that went very well. He also likes the food there. The care has been very good. They are really conscientious about the care of their residents and they keep me informed on any kind of changes that he thinks that has come up. They give me a call right away no matter what time – day or night. They have an activity director and we have known here for a long time. They have activities published in each room. "

"My father-in-law was at Miller's Merry Manor. They had people that were very caring. They had either an Amish or Mennonite cook. The food was very good. The rooms were clean, but they were having to use a lot of help from different agencies. There wasn't always continuity of care between people. For the elderly to have people change every week as they start to get used to someone and it takes time to get used to your patient, that would be the big thing. They want to do a good job and they try. They want to do good care. It's a Christian small facility. It might be very appropriate for someone else. They're good people. It's in the country; it just wasn't the right facility for him. Then there were a few things, and that's where he went septic twice. They're lovely Christian people. They are caring people. They do respond to problems. The social workers were very good with him trying to do what he needed for them. There were lots of pluses. If we had to put him back there for whatever reason, we would consider them again, but it felt more like we needed to keep a closer eye down there. Their personal long-term staff was good. It's a Christian caring place. They did beautiful decorations. It's an older facility, but it's kept very clean and maintained. It's an older building. They have pretty grounds. They did a nice job. They decorated and they had flowers and plants. They had sidewalks that people could walk around, or you could take somebody out in a wheelchair. It's a rural area, so some people really like that. The food was not the same as the chef at the other facility, but it was home cooking Amish-Mennonite, good solid food."

"The whole experience was amazing from beginning to end. The staff was beyond capable of meeting every single resident's needs and they were always happy to do so. In my experience, they were always ready and willing to go above and beyond to make the best out of every situation possible. It made the whole experience much easier and comforting than it really had any right to be. It was fantastic. "

"Overall everything seemed to be very well taken care of at all times. Everyone seemed to be genuinely happy with their work and they were always more than happy to help with whatever questions or tasks that needed to be done. The food and entertainment was also a plus and all of the residents seemed to be in high spirits. Honestly, it turned a bad situation and make it tolerable for everyone.Obviously, my mother in law was very happy to finally get out of there after her physical therapy was complete. Though, it never would have been possible without all of the help and dedication from the friendly doctors and the extra helpful staff of the facility. It was a pleasure and I hope and pray that all facilities show the same love and respect to all of their residents. So, I guess in conclusion, everything was amazing. The care exceeded all of my expectations and took away some of the fear and stereotypes that I had heard about assisted care facilities and retirement homes. Good work! "

"My mother has been in Miller's Merry Manor twice. She was there for a few months and left because she wanted to move back in the house, but then she ended up breaking her leg and she's been back in there since December of this past year. She's been there overall about a year. I would rate them very high. It's a beautiful facility. The staff is extremely caring and nice. I have eaten there a number of times and the food is excellent. The rooms are big. She's got a nice 1-bedroom apartment with a huge closet, a fullt appointed large bathroom with all the facilities that she needs as far as handrails and a sit-down shower. They monitor her three times a day. They have plenty of activities. I can't say enough nice things about this place. They're really great. They have weekly trips, they take them shopping, and they take them to plays and other activities in the community, which she does participate in. She's happy where she is."

"When my grandmother's health took a turn for the worse, we were unable to care for her at home and had to find an assisted living facility that could provide her with 24 nurse supervision. I personally was hesitant about sending my grandmother to a nursing home the horrible experiences we have had in the past at other facilities for my grandfather. Fortunately, my sister had referred us to Hubbard Hill and it was the best decision we could have made for my grandmother. Overall it was just a very welcoming, yet professional atmosphere. The staff was friendly and very courteous and after 3 days they greeted me by name. They offered round the clock nurse supervision, they had several activities for permenant residents and they also had certified dietitians that made everything from scratch and all of the vegetables were from a locals farmers market. They provided top notch care for my grandmother which made the whole experience wonderful for her as well as my family. I would definitely recommend this facility. "

"This facility looks better and better every day with the new management team in here now they have been treating people with respect and integrity. They have been doing updates and keeping the facility clean and friendly looking. I would recommend this valley view to anyone that need a safe and secure environment to anyone in this area. The staff are really nice and try their hardest to please the residents to the best of their ability. Call them and talk to them and they will answer any of your questions."

"My husband moved into Golden LivingCenter-Elkhart a week ago. The staff was very nice, all the staff that we've met, my husband's content, and he's happy with it. They have a kitchen they can go to at any time to get a cup of coffee, they have courtyards where they can go outside frequently if they would like. They have nice areas to visit with family. It seems to be safe healthwise, and they check for COVID. They do have activities. They feed them pretty well from what he says. It was clean, I noticed in a few places they could use some paint, but it was very clean. There were public restrooms, and it was very secure."

"My brother is at Majestic Care of West Allen and they're very good at communicating and letting me know anything that goes on there when I can't get there because I have two daughters and we all work full time. So, it's a once-a-week visit type thing. His room is very nice. The food is good. He is putting on weight, which is what he needs to do, and that's one of their goals. The facility is still new. The people are good there."
