"My father in law goes to Woodland Manor for respite care. He loves it there. The staff is friendly. It is not a fancy facility but the care he receives is excellent. They treat the patients like family and strive to make them feel at home. "

"East Lake Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is a very nice facility. My wife is getting good service over there. She can't stand and she can't walk, so she doesn't get involved in any of the activities, but they have a nice activities group and they take the residents to various places. They're bringing her down to see my place and to have lunch here. I eat lunch with her and the food is very good."

"My mother is now in rehab at Greencroft Healthcare. So far, they're very caring. It has a family-like atmosphere. The staff has been excellent working with her. We're just extremely happy all the way around. They have a lot of things, but she does not do any of those right now. I can see that they are available for use like games and puzzles and they have books and colored pencils to do adult coloring, and they have reading. They have a multitude of things that she can do, but she's not been able to do that yet. They have a beauty shop and I know that my mom has used it and has been very happy with that. We've been very, very pleased with the caring atmosphere. They treat her like she's their grandmother. It's very clean there. Their staff is very diligent about keeping the areas picked up. I would give them high marks for that. I feel like all of those facilities are way overpriced, but they are very comparable and we had to find a place that accepted a Medicare waiver and they do. We're very pleased to have such a quality place of care and we're pleased with the financial end of it also. I have never had the food, but my mom likes it. She had to move from independent care to 24-hour nursing care."

"We decided to have mom at Miller's Merry Manor in Wakarusa, because they had an opening, and compared to other places in the area, their price is a little bit more reasonable. The staff is very nice and very helpful. Her room is very nice and clean. It's a studio. The food is very good. They have bingo and an exercise class in the morning."

"We did find dad a facility and he is at Courtyard Healthcare. It's a great facility. He was familiar with the place because he volunteered there for about 10 years. He knew all of the staff there so it was like moving one home to another and that went very well. He also likes the food there. The care has been very good. They are really conscientious about the care of their residents and they keep me informed on any kind of changes that he thinks that has come up. They give me a call right away no matter what time – day or night. They have an activity director and we have known here for a long time. They have activities published in each room. "

"I toured Waterford Crossing. The difference with them is that you buy a duplex, and when you leave, you sell it. Whereas the others, you kind of buy in, but you don't get your money back if you have to move, so that's a big difference. It was more out in the country. Everything seemed nice, friendly, and clean. The staff who toured me around was very nice. It was more like a little village with little houses and stuff that you bought into. It's like a little community and everybody has yards and stuff."

"I'm here at Sprenger Health Care for rehab. I think it's really nice. The staff are fantastic. The food is very good. If you need transportation, there is a woman here that arranges the transportation. It's very good. It's very clean. I don't see anything wrong with it at all. The cost is like any other one."

"The staff appears to be over-worked and underpaid. Residents are vulnerable to having to contend with room-mates who can be noisy and disruptive, and offered no recourse. "

"My mother is at Saint Paul's. The staff is very caring. I have had lots of good conversations with the nurses and the aides there. She ended up moving from there into the hospital for a while and then rehab again and we weren't sure if she was going to be able to move in. They all loved Mom. They wanted her to come back and they said, "Whatever it takes, she can come back." They're very sweet and she's got a good friend there, too. We had Thanksgiving dinner there and it was pretty good. She has a studio, so there's a bathroom and a living room, bedroom combination. They've got lots to do there. She also has PT there, and she likes having mass every day. They come right to the floor, so I think that's good because a lot of them can't get off the floor. They try to have something every couple of days for them to do. I've only participated in making Christmas decorations. Compared to other places, value for money is very good."

"The facility we looked at was Ironwood Health Rehab, and we were very pleased. It’s very clean, caring, and efficient. The workers were very nice, friendly, and helpful, and they took very good care of my dad. They had a rehab room, outdoor courtyards, and recreational activities. However, it’s an older facility and needs modern updating. "

"My dad is in Holy Cross Long-Term Nursing Care for rehab. I like the cleanliness of it and the staff. They are genuine and caring. I see that they care about the residents there. The food is good, too. A lot of times when I walk into some of the facilities, I know that it doesn't necessarily mean they're dirty, it has the urine smell. I haven't smelled that at the rehab part or over at the nursing home part of this facility. I know that they have good people and I've seen the cleaning staff quite a bit. Even at my dad's room in the rehab, they're over there cleaning in his room. It always smells good and he smells good because they keep him clean. I didn't catch any when I was there but I know they have activities. I think they have some entertainment that might come in and sing some songs. The dining area is open so it just seems light and airy. The residents can sit together and talk, and have conversations."
