"I toured this facility with my family and was very impressed with it in general. The facilities were very clean and well maintained, and didn't have the feel of a hospital like many facilities do. The therapy in this facility was very impressive, they were very knowledgeable, and like all of the other staff, they were very respectful. The furniture in the building adds to the homey feel, and small touches, such as a salon, help add to the impressiveness of the facility. Tendercare also offers short-term care, so if you are going out of town but don't want to leave an elderly family member alone, they can stay at Tendercare for the short term. Short term patients receive all of the benefits of the facilities, and it is a comfortable stay for patients while being a comforting environment for family members, who know that they are leaving their loved ones in good hands. "

"East Lake Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is a very nice facility. My wife is getting good service over there. She can't stand and she can't walk, so she doesn't get involved in any of the activities, but they have a nice activities group and they take the residents to various places. They're bringing her down to see my place and to have lunch here. I eat lunch with her and the food is very good."

"My mom stayed at Heartland Health Care Center. It's very nice and the staff was very nice as well. They did everything we expected, so we were satisfied. She went to rehab -- which she needed -- and it was very beneficial. They have exercising. Mom was only there for a week. They make your comfortable and they're very accommodating. The place was well-kept, so we were pleased. The price was also reasonable."

"I thought that the staff should have been a bit more caring with the patients. The atmosphere was not very positive, but you cannot expect much from that out of an assisted living facility. I think they should have had more activities for the patients such as music and movies or other things that they could do easily. "

"When I visited The Springs at Bronson Place, I was very pleased by the conditions of the facility. The room had a very open and airy feel to it and it was very clean. During my visit, the staff was very friendly and welcoming. I noticed that many of the residents seemed happy and all were engaged in some type of activity, not just 'parked' in a hall somewhere. The rooms were large and tastefully decorated, with comfortable lighting. There were a few group activities being offered, which were well attended. The dining area was also well maintained, with almost a 1-1 staff to resident ratio. The menu was displayed and had a wide variety of choices for the residents. Overall, I felt the facility was clean, welcoming, and pleasant. "

"Friendship Village Kalamazoo was very nice. They had a lot of amenities. They just were very helpful, and it looked like a nice place. It was a big facility, so the people in memory care, obviously, would be more restricted to what they can do. I have a friend, and her mother lives there. She is in independent living, so she can make use of many of the things there. They have a lot of nice things for people that are able, but the facility in general is very nice. The staff was very helpful and very knowledgeable. It was kept very clean, and the grounds were nice. The staff that I saw when walking around looked very friendly, so I was pleased with that."

"Medilodge of Westwood is very kind and did a lot of work with my mom's PT and OT. They have worked with her even on the weekends for therapy. They were very kind when she would have a setback and get sent back to the hospital, they would take her back again. That happened three times. They have card games, art projects, hymns, and broadcasts. My mom thought the food was good, too. It's just not as updated and quite as clean as the other facility they have in another area."

"My father has advanced dementia and has lived at Elkhart Meadows for seven years. The staff is exceptional as well as the administration team. They communicate very well with me about my dad‘s care and health. He has a decent little room with his own television and bathroom. There is plenty of space in the common area and the dining room For all of the residents and guests as well as a giant fish tank that is well maintained. My dad seems very happy there."

"My mom is at Laurels of Galesburg. She is doing well. She is in memory care because she has dementia and they take good care of them. My mom's room is clean. They have a mat because she falls down a lot. The atmosphere is nice. In terms of activities, she does music and bingo. They have music a lot and they have people come in and sing and stuff like that. She enjoys their activities. The food looks and smells good, too. Overall, so far, Laurels of Galesburg is really nice. The staff members are really good. They keep my mom busy and occupied."
