Medilodge of Westwood is very kind and did a lot of work with my mom's PT and OT. They have worked with her even on the weekends for therapy. They were very kind when she would have a setback and get sent back to the hospital, they would take her back again. That happened three times. They have card games, art projects, hymns, and broadcasts. My mom thought the food was good, too. It's just not as updated and quite as clean as the other facility they have in another area.

My mom was in MediLodge of Westwood and that was horrible. I'm not happy with them. I couldn't take care of her anymore, and I needed help with her, and so she went there because it was close, but it wasn't a good idea. They're not responsible enough. The staff members were incompetent. They didn't do a lot. My mom slept a lot. She went to the hospital like three times because she kept falling. The last time she got hurt really bad, so I had to place her somewhere else. The room was OK. It's minimal. In terms of cleanliness, they didn't pay attention to the little things. They had a church service, but my mom never managed to get to it. And I didn't see very many people up and around there. I don't think they're all that social. They had a nice dining area and things, but they lost my mom's teeth, and that really upset me. She didn't have her teeth to eat.

The rooms are filthy, staff is overworked and messed up medications for my grandma. Her pillow had someone else’s blood marks on it when she arrived! Her draw had old food in it when we arrived! Who would want their grandma in an environment like this!? She is diabetic and they fed her a sandwich with white bread, sugary bean soup and ice cream. They messed up her medications more than once. We had to remove her and return to the ER to try and get her to a different facility. AVOID!

Two times around the time my mom was there we had employees tell us either that we're glad you're mom went somewhere different or they actually told my mom "you need to go somewhere different" that tells me there's something wrong with your facility if your employees are saying stuff like this to residents & their families...

I feel that this facility was just ok. It did have a buzzer that you had to hit to enter for security reasons which I thought was good. However the halls were very crowded with residents. The CNAs seemed to be short with you. The financial people were very nice and always returned your calls on a timely basis and were willing to meet with you on short notices. All in all I believe if need be I would recommend this facility to another resident but would suggest another first.
