"My mother was at Covenant Village. She stayed there for three months. They helped her out a lot, which is what she needed because she fell and broke her wrist. It was a very nice place. It was a very good place. The staff was very good. They had an incident with one of the ladies while my mother was there. Other people had complained about it because she was rough, and they took care of it. They were very good. My mother shared a room with another lady, and they had their own bathroom but no kitchenette. The dining area was good. Activities were good. They had bingo and movies. They had people coming in for talks, and they had singers come in as well. "

"My mother, who recently passed away,lived at Holland Homes for eight years. She could not have recieved better care at any price. The staff is very attentive and caring to the residents. All of her needs were always met there. Every time I visited the staff was very friendly and inviting. She was never treated bad. They treat their residents with care and compassion. Visiting is very flexible. The facility is very clean and well kept. Nurses and other staff keep family members updated about the resident. I would recommend this nursing home more than any other one in kentwood. There is a wide range of of activities for the clients to take part in and they are also able to leave the facility and go on walks or get time outside. I never had an issue arise from any of the staff members here. My mothers long time friend also stayed here and I often visited and she was well taken care of. "

"The staff's wonderful and the food's great at Spectrum, but my mom's still ambitious and would like more interactive activities. The only complaint she has is that she and the other residents only have a little something to do in the morning and then they sit in the rooms the rest of the day. The facility seems all nice, clean, and well-kept. "

"When I moved here it was to make sure I wasn't a burden on my family who did not live in this part of the country. I chose Clark Retirement Home because of it's proximity to where I have lived all my life and because of the staff and the environment both inside and outside the actual facility. I find that the common room was something I enjoy using and it helps me learn about my neighbors and some of them have even become friends. The facility is set up with different apartments and is quiet compared to the rest of the city. I feel like I can call this place home. While I don't care for living in this part of the city, the actual facility and the residents here give me comfort and security. Clark Retirement Home has plenty of opportunities to go on excursions and to enjoy my independence. "

"I cannot tell you how happy our family is that our uncle is at Fulton Manor. His care is excellent! Not only during the day when we visit, but 24/7. The staff is not average, but excellent. They are kind and caring. They care how their residents look and feel. The residents comfort is at the top of their list. They not only care for their physical needs but their emotional and spiritual needs also. Music is a regular part of their day and the residents just love it. There is a chapel at the facility for their spiritual needs and chaplains come to call on the residents regularly. They play bingo and work with crafts. My uncle helps the leader with the bingo games and he takes great pride in doing something useful and important for the residents. My uncle's kindness has blossomed at Fulton Manor because of the kindness shown to him. Thank you for allowing me to tell everyone one a wonderful facility Fulton Manor is. "

"Christian Rest Home is actually a pretty good assisted living facility. The premise is quiet and peaceful. The staff is very friendly and supportive. They seem to know all the residents by name and are willing to work with you to provide care for your family. We were able to reserve and use their all purpose room a number of times to share birthdays and special occasions with our Grandmother with no real problems. The grounds aren't big, but they're nice. There's a little bird sanctuary just inside, and more than once I've been greeted by somebody playing or singing music nearby. The rooms aren't huge, but there is enough space for some personal effects and a T.V. As far as I know, all the rooms are shared, but I may be wrong about that. They do allow pets to visit. I've seen a number of dogs coming in and out of the facility although they might have to be approved therapy dogs. It is a little out of the way, as it's kind of tucked inside a neighborhood, but that might be a good thing as it makes it quiet on the grounds. At any rate, I don't have a lot of experience with different homes, but so far I've been very satisfied with the care that Christian Rest Home provides. "

"We went to visit the Holland Home Raybrook Manor assisted living facility since we were already in the region, looking at places for my friend's mother. The outside grounds were very colorful and vibrant with beautiful landscaping. There were also plenty of places for residents to enjoy with friends and family. The interior foyer was very inviting, with bright light, comfortable furniture and a fresh decor. The housing options were all lovely and well personalized and designed. Staff works with residents to update them regularly to keep them comfortable for residents. The restaurant style dining area offered many delicious choices. The lunch we saw was like what you might find in an upscale diner. There was also a private dining room for friends and family to enjoy. The staff takes residents on weekly outings for shopping and entertainment from local theater to movies and music. There was also a nice workout room for residents with well maintained equipment and they also offer classes regularly. The outside area included a really spacious outdoor walking path. This was a really nice facility that we thought was well designed with caring and attentive staff. "

"I went with my girlfriend to be a second set of eyes. She needed to find a place for her aunt to stay. She had no other help from family members so I went along to help her. I do say I was impressed. You usually think of these places as drab and boring. People just sitting around doing nothing. This was not the case here. The facility is nice and clean. It has a friendly and lively surroundings. All the workers were very kind. They did not know we were coming so I don't beleive their behavior was acted. I had a good feeling here. I felt comfortable and not uptight being around of a lot of older people. Their were a lot of activities and things for the residents to do. It was kind of like a big family. I would not be worried to leave my loved one here. You hear so many horror stories of workers treating the residents badly or not caring. That was definetly not the case here. I would feel good about leaving my loved one here!! "

"Overall the facility wasn't bad, of course nothing is like home but the care provided was good. My grand father could not go home so the care that was provided to him was very good. The staff worked hard to take care of him and provided the best possible care to him. They also worked very hard to physiclly rehabilte him. "

"They are doing pretty good at Spectrum Health Rehab & Nursing Center according to my friend. She is in a two-person room, so they are a little austere. They have bingo, and they also have arts and crafts. "

"Pilgrim Manor has become my mother's home. She is 101 years old and has lived there for 7 years since suffering the effects of a stroke. Her daily needs are met by a caring and knowledgeable staff, from the dining people to the nurses and above, by the staff admin team. My mother's first choice is not to be in a nursing home; her only feasible option due to her health condition was to be in a skilled-nursing facility. This was the second nursing home my mother lived in and I hope and pray she will spend her days guided and protected by these caring people at Pilgrim Manor. Pilgrim Manor is #1 in my book. "

"My mother in law is at the Laurels. It's an older building, they have done a lot to keep it clean, and the rooms are small. There's 2 people to a room. The nurses care for her, talk to her, and they are patient. They have Bingo, movie day, physical therapy, and ice cream socials."

"The room I stayed in was excellent! It was a large private room! Very comfortable and homely. The room was neat and cleaned everyday. The house keeping staff was respectful. The nursing staff was excellent! I was somewhat hesitant about going there because I thought it would not be the same as my home. But to tell you the truth I had mixed feelings about going home. I loved the food! Excellent chefs, great tasting foods and with flavor 😋 👌. I loved the activities. My view was great! Infact, I highly recommend Porter Hills Village to everyone I know. If I ever have to go back I would gladly return. It felt like a second home to me."

"Friendly staff. Our biggest concern is that our father refuses to bathe and they don't force him to. Seems as though it would be a health issue to not have a clean body. They also don't seem to encourage him very much to participate in the planned activities. He is content to stay in his room and I think with a little encouragement he could be taken in his wheelchair to the activity room and might just enjoy some of the activities that are planned.We also have concerns with billing - several times we haven't received our bill in a timely manner. And our medicaid recertification was sent to Dad - and was just dropped back in the mail with please forward to us. Post Office returned to sender and therefore our paperwork was late getting back to the state. "
